Did you receive the 3pm alarm?
All mobile phones were supposed to receive an alarm message at 3pm today.
I have two mobile phones and both were switched on, not on silent and on the desk next to me with a strong signal.
My work iphone made an alarm noise but there was no message on the screen.
My personal Android phone stayed completely silent with no message on the.
So IMO it wasn't a great success, -

Snooker is a racist sport and should be banned
The World Snooker championship is currently on tv. I have noticed there are no black snooker players but the ultimate aim of the game is to keep hitting "The Black".
This is blatant racism and the sport should be banned. -

Have you ever wondered, usually about 3am in the morning when, for some unknown reason you can't sleep...
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard when he lives in the jungle without a razor?
Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are flat?
Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough?
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?
Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?
What is the speed of darkness?
Why is it that people say they 'slept like a baby' when babies wake up every two hours?
If the temperature is zero outside today and it's going to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold will it be?
Do married people live longer than single ones or does it only seem longer?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
Did you ever stop and wonder.......
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze
these pink dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?'
Who was the first person to say, 'See that chicken there... I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes outta it's bum.'
Why do toasters always have a setting so high that could burn the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?
Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?
Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their bum when they ask where the bathroom is?
Why does your Gynaecologist leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?
Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?
If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, then what is baby oil made from?
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
Why do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Stop singing and read on......
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

The low number of hours people really work.
There was a guest on last night's Free Speech Nation who has done research into how much actual work people do. And it seems if you are in a middle class job working for a large organisation, or a charity, or university, you have plenty of spare time in the working day to do another job.
Some examples he gave was of one person who was doing 4 part time jobs alongside his full time job. Another person had worked for an insurance company for 6 years but reckoned he had only done 6 months work. Most people who work on the admin side of big charities only work about an hour a day, or just turn up to login but do no actual work. He also said of two universities that have more admin staff than undergraduates.

Top BBC presenters including Huw Edwards, Reeta Chakrabarti, Clive Myrie and Sophie Raworth get bombshell redundancy letters as the Beeb tries to save millions

My sympathy for the nurses and their strike action was severely dented this week- end when I read the results of the ballot on the rejection of the latest pay offer.
The result is listed at 54% rejected, 46% accepted on a turnout of 61%. This means that nurses as a whole voted as follows, 33% rejected, 28% accepted and 39% could not be bothered to express an opinion.
How can the RCN claim that this is a fair representation of nurses opinion?.
Far more likely IMO to be the political motivation of the left wing leadership which it's self is under question by it's own membership.
Surely it is time that legislation was introduced to ensure that votes of this sort are made to reflect the true opinions of any of the Trade Unions members. -
COVID-19 Spring Booster 2023 (Edited)

There have been many claims, and on this loop some comment, on the energy savings given by air fryers.
I give below some facts, make of them what you will, they are based on monthly meter readings.
1) Jan - Mar. 7 year average usage 1508 kWhs
2) Jan - Mar. Year 2023 1173 kWhs Difference 335 kWhs or 22.2%.
