i ordered something from Ebay yesterday and cancelled the order within 2 minutes, just had an email saying the cancellation has been declined as the item has been despatched today. 24 hours after I cancelled it.
Tried to contact the seller direct as advised and although given the name Raxted it comes up as the Ebay website. -
86yo grandmother and her hand made needle point chair. 25 years in the making and 14 threads per inch. She used to pick up road kill from the side of the road to compare thread colors and also bought a peacock for color comparison. Only she is allowed to sit in it.

Lots of messages on my local FB pages about deliveries being late, Tesco and Iceland and Iceland not booking any more deliveries until they get fuel
My Hermes delivery is late but at least that have let me know that they will be here by 7. -
Imagine... (Edited)
Imagine a country where the [male] leaders decide families should only have one child.
Imagine the tradition is every family [husband] wants a male heir.
Reality. As a consequence there are many more adult males than females.
Reality. The feminist movement has gained huge popularity since the introduction of social media.

Can anyone recommend a good paint for shading a greenhouse. Just been reading reviews of some and they don't exactly inspire me.

Ordered a few things from “McKay”. Unfortunately have to return one item due to hideous size/style.
Take to Asda which is miles away. McKay only if I can get a lift or taxi fare £20.00
Comment: We stopped free returns on -- sales -- items. They lost my custom and will check other shops for their return instructions. Once one shop starts others will follow. -
My kitchen strip light has just given up the ghost but the council say it is not classed as emergency for a 24 hour call out so ring again tomorrow.
No cooking this evening then or even making a cup of tea. -
Personal Details (Edited)
Following on from John's @JohnH6 's post, never put your FULL name on a social media forum. It is very easy to find out many personal details, home address, phone number, your children and many things, even religion.
https://www.scooploop.com/thread/using-your-photo-as-your-avatar-on-scooploop-or-any-other-public-website#comment_295887
Put your name into Google and you will be very surprised. Directory websites such as 192.com not only provide on-line UK telephone directories, but have the entire electoral register with over 25 million adults on their database.
In the case of 192.com, you need to fill out its record removal form. Check you are not on the 'open electoral register', your Council has a form to request your name is removed from the open register. -

Predict the score - something to discuss
It's been suggested to me that if would be more fun to ask for a simple Home, Away or Draw prediction rather than the score.
What do you all think?
There's no Premier League match tonight and I'm away next week so will be Sunday week before the next Predict The Score. -

Already £50 million spent/wasted on the M25 hold ups...
Must admit I still find that figure amazing for just a few days of police who were originally just standing around and looking after the protesters safety... a retired vicar and dentist to name a couple.. but added to that the cleaning of blue paint and ungluing the idiots....but just imagine what could be done with that money. Increased salaries for nurses, hospital cleaners, care workers, the list is endless, and more importantly what about the expensive drugs needed for children in particular whose families have to crowdfund to get them treatment abroad.
Please will these people just go and demonstrate outside the American, Chinese, Indian, Brazilian Embassies and many more countries polluting the oceans and cutting down the rainforests. -

Last Friday I decided to spend the day at Thorpe Park riding the roller coasters.
OK, I admit it, I'm a big kid at heart.
There were many thousands of people there, but apart from myself, I only saw four other people wearing masks.

Minor SOS - I can't get rid of the smell!
I bought a teak unit which is in very nice condition, very clean and suits the vibes of this odd place. Now on wheels courtesy of my neighbour so have seen it up-side down and no damp or anything there. I can only think it has been sitting in a garage for years unused. Problem is I just cannot get rid of the musty smell when I open the drawers. I've sprayed the drawers all over with Pledge, wiped down with Lavender essence and had in the sunshine outside for a day. I'm not a fan of air freshener or plug-ins. Had it a week now and the smell is still overpowering to me (though neighbour says he can't smell it).
Any suggestions, please, as I'm not sure I can live with it! -
Predict the score - Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea
Today's Super Sunday match is a London derby. It's also the first Premier League match that is "net carbon zero", whatever that means? That's one for another thread.
There is also the sad news that ex-player for both teams, Jimmy Greaves, has died today. The Saint & Greavsie show on HeavenTV will be good.
Get your predictions in by 4pm.
Good luck -
Countries with Unarmed Police (Edited)
In today's world of unrestricted violence and where ALL the significant and sensible countries in the world are armed, our supposedly highly civilised, wealthy and leading nation chooses to have unarmed police !!
So we know best when the rest of the world does not ? All the other countries are out-of-step. 🤣
If our police had been armed over 50 years ago, many policemen/policewomen and civilians would be enjoying life today with their families.
It is absolutely pathetic that the mighty but small UK is included in the piffling list of odds and sods of countries who do not have armed police in this time of widespread total disregard for law and order and sometimes horrific violence, that we have to continually risk in our daily lives.
On this issue, we MUST be wrong, by an overwhelming majority decision.
I have often seen statements saying that the police themselves do not wish to be armed - my answer to that is if the Government sensibly got into step with the rest of the world and armed our police, then individuals who did not like it could find another job. Just like soldiers, who are also volunteers.
All I can say is - get on with it Britannia and good luck to all our police and fellow citizens.
The only way I have ever known on how to win is to have a bigger club than the other guy and to strike first. -
