I bought a new rug for my living room so I advertised the old one on several sites including Trash Nothing, Gumtree and Scooploop.
On all the ads I clearly said where I live and on the Gumtree ad I clearly said please don't just send a message saying is it still available (a common response on that site). I'll remove the ad when it's been taken so if you can still see the ad then yes it is still available.
I've had fourteen replies - eleven of them said just is it still available. One gave a phone number but doesn't answer the phone so I sent a text message which he didn't reply to. I contacted two others who then said that I live too far away.
The rug in reasonable condition but needs a clean. I'm trying to help people by giving away stuff I don't need.
Why are people so stupid and/or inconsiderate!
I don't have time to waste so I'm considering taking a perfectly usable rug to the dump.
