      Sainsbury's Online Shopping

After many years of entering my ID and password, Sainsbury's have over the past few days introduced a 6 digit security code as well before accessing your account.

Enter ID and password and then they send you a 6 digit code by email. So you then have to logon to your email, get the 6 digit code and enter it in the Sainsbury's logon, only then does it go through to your account.

What an annoying mis-improvement to implement. It is however a very secure measure to bring your email into the equation, anybody can get into your account if they have your ID and password or complete a captcha. But they cannot get over your email.

      Over 60!!

Particularly for over 60, but it applies to anyone.
Very interesting info that, quite frankly, I never thought about.
      By: Arnaldo Liechtenstein, physician

Whenever I teach clinical medicine to students in the fourth year of medicine, I ask the following question:
What are the causes of mental confusion in the elderly?
Some offer: "Tumors in the head". I answer: No!
Others suggest: "Early symptoms of Alzheimer's". I answer No!
With each rejection of their answers, their responses dry up.
And they are even more open-mouthed when I list the three most common causes:
      - uncontrolled diabetes
      - urinary infection
      - dehydration
It may sound like a joke, but it isn't. People over 60 generally stop feeling thirsty and consequently stop drinking fluids.
When no one is around to remind them to drink fluids, they quickly dehydrate.
Dehydration is severe and affects the entire body It may cause abrupt mental confusion, a drop in blood pressure, increased heart palpitations, angina (chest pain), coma and even death.
*the habit of forgetting to drink fluids begins at age 60, when we have just over 50%of the water we should have in our bodies. People over 60 have a lower water reserve.
This is part of the natural aging process.*
But there are more complications. Although they are dehydrated, they don't feel like drinking water, because their internal balance mechanisms don't work very well.
      *Conclusion:*
People over 60 years old dehydrate easily, not only because they have a smaller water supply, but also because they do not feel the lack of water in the body.
Although people over 60 may look healthy, the performance of reactions and chemical functions can damage their entire body.
      So here are two alerts:
      1) *Get into the habit of drinking liquids*. Liquids include water, juices, teas, coconut water, milk, soups, and water-rich fruits, such as watermelon, melon, peaches, and pineapple; orange and tangerine also work.
*The important thing is that, every two hours, you must drink some liquid. Remember this!*
      2) Alert for family members: constantly offer fluids to people over age 60. At the same time, observe them.
If you realize that they are rejecting liquids and, from one day to the next, they are irritable, breathless or display a lack of attention, these are almost certainly recurrent symptoms of dehydration
Inspired to drink more water now?? Send this information out to others! DO IT NOW!
Your friends and family need to know for themselves and help you to be healthier and happier.

It's good to share! *For people over 60*

      Twist on old proverb

There once was an Indian who had only one testicle

And whose given name was 'Onestone'.

He hated that name and asked everyone not to call him Onestone.

After years and years of torment,

      Onestone finally cracked and said,'

If anyone calls me Onestone again I will kill them!'

The word got around and nobody called him that any more.

Then one day a young woman named Blue Bird forgot and said,

      'Good morning, Onestone..'

He jumped up, grabbed her and took her deep into the forest where he made love to her all day and all night.

He made love to her all the next day,

Until Blue Bird died from exhaustion.

The word got around that Onestone meant what he promised he would do.

Years went by and no one dared call him by his given name until

A woman named Yellow Bird returned to the village after being away.

Yellow Bird , who was BlueBird's cousin,

Was overjoyed when she saw Onestone.

She hugged him and said, 'Good to see you, Onestone.'

Onestone grabbed her, took her deep into the forest,

Then he made love to her all day,

Made love to her all night,

Made love to her all the next day,

Made love to her all the next night, but YellowBird wouldn't die!

      Why ???

OH, come on... Take a guess !!!

      Think about it !!!

You're going to love this !!!

      Everyone knows..

      You can't kill Two Birds

      With

      One Stone !!!😂😂

      Come join the army!

      Dear Mum & Dad,

I am very well, I hope you are too. Tell big brothers Sean, Paddy and Mick that the Army is better than working on the farm; tell them to get into the Army quick before the jobs are all gone.
I was a bit slow settling down at first because you don't get out of bed until 6am, but I got used to it and I like sleeping in now. All you do before breakfast is make your bed, shine your boots and clean your uniform. No cows to milk, no calves to feed, no feed to stack, nothing. Men must shave, but it’s not too bad because there's hot water and a light to see what you’re doing. For breakfast there’s cereal, fruit and eggs but there's no fillet steaks or sausages. You don't get fed again until noon, and by that time all the city boys are buggered because we've been on a 'route march', which is just like walking to the well in the meadow.

This will kill Sean and Paddy with laughter but I keep getting medals for shooting!! I don’t know why because the bull’s-eye is as big as a bloody bull's head and it doesn't move and it’s not firing back at you like the Murphy’s did when our bull got their cow in calf before the Ballina show. All you have to do is make yourself comfortable and hit the target - piece of piss. You don't even load your own cartridges – they come in boxes and you don't have to steady yourself against the roll bar of the tractor when you reload. Sometimes we wrestle with the city boys and I have to be very careful because they break easy - it's not like fighting with Sean, Paddy, Mick and all the other local fellas all at once like we do.

Turns out I'm not a bad boxer either; it looks like I'm the best the platoon's got. I've only been beaten once by this guy from Dublin - he's 6 foot 8 and 120 kilos so he’s a good bit bigger than me but I fought to the end.
I can't complain about the Army - tell the boys to get in quick before word gets out how good it is.

      Your loving daughter,
      Siobhàn.

      INNOCENT (itv)

What a waste of time that turned out to be. For three days they pumped us with clues that showed virtually the whole village could have done it, leaving cliff hangers each night. However, with all the red herrings and blind alleys they sent us down, there was never a hint as to why the killer killed - until we were told at the end of day four.

Pace, (The Police and Criminal Evidence act 1984 codes of practice), was not noticeably adhered to. The lead detective, whilst interviewing was shown to be intimidating and threatening. There did not appear to be any legal representation for those being interviewed.
We were shown a 2 way mirror in operation during interviews, which would not currently be used as video of interviews could be seen by other officers, not that we knew who was supposed to be watching anyway.

Evidence of DNA found on the victim's clothes wasn't disvovered until 5 years after the crime. Allegedly because the police didn't need to look into the case further once a person had been arrested, tried and sentenced - based upon what evidence we have no idea.
People appeared to be being interviewed at the police station (including overnight) with family members unaware of where the interviewee was and why.

There were more holes in the programme than you'd find in a pair of fishnet stockings.

To my mind it was a waste to make 4 hours of television to show what they did. It would have been better making a one hour programme, changing the concept a little, securing the facts and getting rid of the peripheral dross.

I hope future offerings are more worthwhile than INNOCENT.

      Mixed Births

Three men, an english man, an Irishman and a Jamaican are in the maternity ward waiting for their wives to give birth. The midwife comes out and congratulates them, announcing that they were all now fathers of beautiful healthy baby boys. However they was a problem. They were all born very close together and in the mad rush they all got mixed up. So she asked if they could each go in and identify their sons from any family resemblances, traits etc.
Paddy says he'll go first, so in he goes and comes out with a black baby. The rastaman looks confused, "Excuse me", he said, "but do you think that one might be mine?"
"Probably", said Paddy , "but one of them in there's English, and I'm takin' no feckin chances !!!!!"

      Rose West (Edited)

Rose West, who was born Rosemary Pauline Letts, in November 1952 in North Devon, was convicted of 10 counts of murder in 1995. The murders were of young women whose dismembered remains were found in her Gloucester home and other sites in the county.
One of her victims was Charmaine West aged 8, daughter of her husband (he was in prison at the time). Another of the victims was Rose’s own 16-year-old daughter Heather.

Fred West, her husband (and obviously a very brave man), escaped justice by taking his own life while on remand in prison.
In November 1995 a jury at Winchester Crown Court found the mother-of-eight, Rose, guilty of ten murders after a month-long trial.
On conviction, she was sentenced to life in prison and Justice Charles Mantell emphasised that she should never be paroled.
When West appealed her conviction in 1996, Lord Chief Justice Taylor refused the appeal but commuted her sentence declaring that she should spend at least twenty-five years in prison.
However, in July 1997 her sentence was changed to a whole life order (commonly known as a whole life tariff) by Home Secretary Jack Straw.
A whole life order means that a prisoner is ordered to serve their sentence without any possibility of parole or conditional release.
Reports over recent years have suggested that Rose West was considering appealing, not against her conviction but against her sentence. This would allow her to make a bid for parole, with claims that she does not want to die behind bars.
In 2018, a source told the The Star on Sunday: "West is convinced that she has become a political prisoner and that no Home Secretary will dare overturn her whole-life tariff because it would be too politically damaging.
"Nevertheless, she is determined to try. She has now served 23 years in prison. She maintains that even if she was guilty, she has served her time."
Can a prisoner on a whole life tariff have a realistic chance of parole? Will one of Britain's most notorious female serial killers ever walk our streets again?

As the police are now investigating a fresh lead into the unsolved case of Mary Bastholm, who was 15-years-old when she was reported missing in 1968, but has never been found and which has been linked to Fred West, Rose's future in prison has been highlighted again.
With the convicted killer having previously expressed a wish to appeal against both her conviction and her sentence, if the body currently being searched for is indeed found, should Rose West be charged and committed for trial?
At the present time it is generally accepted that no further adjustments are made to her sentence and she will eventually die behind bars. If a court case ensues, would she have a forum to try to adjust her current whole life tariff to one of time served?
I have no idea what the legal position would be, but I would prefer that she remains where she is for the rest of her life rather than give her any opportunity to breathe the same air as the relatives of her victims.
      What are your views?

      Mixed Messages

After nearly 50 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the wife felt her husband, begin to massage her in ways he hadn't in quite some time. It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down, stopping just over her stomach. He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, working down her side, passing gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf. Then, he proceeded up her thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.

As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, ‘Honey that was wonderful. Why did you stop?' To which he responded: 'I found the remote.'...

I very much doubt there will be much sympathy but I am livid that I can no longer pay on line via my M & S credit card as they do not have a mobile phone number. Tried paying 3 times for my Co-op delivery and in the end had to put in my mobile number before they would accept the order, even though I had put in landline number ("Sorry, that doesn't look like a mobile No"). In the end, I had to pay the food order via my bank card which I prefer not to do on line ever.

What right has any company to say that one has to have a mobile phone. I'm not even going to say rant over because it's not.

THRIFTIFY - what a good idea! (Edited)

"Charity shops are the ultimate place to bag a bargain sustainably and a new online marketplace, Thriftify, is hoping to make this easier by “connecting” well-known retailers with consumers.

The company, which has just launched in the UK, lets shopaholics browse second-hand products online, meaning they can enjoy some retail therapy and save the planet at the same time.

Users can buy books, music, games, gifts and accessories via the platform, which boasts partnerships with stores including Oxfam, St Vincent De Paul, Sue Ryder and Wessex Cancer Trust.

Bosses of the social enterprise, which was founded in Ireland in 2018, said it is also integrated into eBay, Google Shopping, Facebook Marketplace and Amazon, giving charities “access to millions of shoppers across the world”.

Announcing the UK launch, founder Rónán Ó Dálaigh said: “Fashion is the second most polluting industry after oil but thankfully, consumers are becoming aware of the damaging effects of ‘fast fashion’ on our planet and are looking for alternatives.

“Instead of buying new, we can lower our impact significantly by opting for used items, making the most of products already out there and discouraging further unnecessary manufacturing.”

Info found in "THE BIG ISSUE"
      Hope this is of interest.

      The Children's Party

A woman  is throwing a big Party for her Granddaughter, and had gone all out... a Caterer, a Band, and even hired a Clown.
Just before the Party started, two old Tramps showed up looking for a free handout, feeling sorry for the old guys, the woman told them that she would give them a good meal if they will help chop some wood for her. Gratefully, they headed to the Rear of the House.

The guests arrived, and all was going well with the children having a wonderful time. But the clown hadn't shown up. After an half an hour, the clown finally called to report that he was stuck as the A9 was closed due to a RTA  and would probably NOT make the party at all.  The woman was very disappointed and unsuccessfully tried to entertain the children herself.

She happened to look out the window and saw one of the old tramps doing cartwheels an back flips across the Lawn. She watched in awe as he swung from tree branches, did mid-air flips, and leaped high in the air.

She spoke to the other tramp and said, "What your friend is doing is absolutely marvellous. I have never seen such a thing. Do you think your friend would consider repeating this performance for the children at the party..???? I would pay him £250"...!

      The other guy says,
      .
      .
      .
"Well, I Dunno.. Let me ask him".."HEY CHARLIE. FOR £250, WOULD YOU CHOP OFF ANOTHER TOE"..???  📷
