Baby killed at Legoland Windsor
A 5 month old baby has died of a cardiac arrest whilst visiting Legoland with its parent. A woman has been arrested for neglect but sounds to me like the baby probably had a medical condition and just died naturally.
But we haven't seen pictures of the baby. Did it look mistreated, dirty clothes etc.
Keeping an open mind

On a recent trip, I fell head over heels in love with Scotland. From Edinburgh to Loch Ness, its beauty left me speechless.
Over the last year, visiting various places in the UK, I've been struck at how beautiful so many places around us are. Countryside, villages, meeting friendly welcoming locals has been such fun
We should all be very proud x -

Often thought about bicycle speed limits
When cyclists overtake me as well as motorbikes and scooters, I think surely the speed limit applies to them too, apparently it doesn’t.
Hilda Griffiths, aged 81, died two months after the collision which happened shortly after 7am on a Saturday morning in June 2022, in which she sustained injuries including several broken bones and bleeding on the brain, reports Telegraph.co.uk (link is external).
Inner West London Coroner’s Court heard that the cyclist, Brian Fitzgerald, who works as a banker with Credit Suisse, was riding at a speed of between 25mph and 29mph as he undertook laps of the park, a popular destination with the capital’s cyclists, in a pace line with fellow members of the Muswell Hill Peloton club.
The speed limit in the park is 20mph, but the Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that it does not apply to people riding bicycles, and that the case had been closed because there was “insufficient evidence for a real prospect of conviction.” -

A question for all the good cooks on Scooploop.
I have guests coming for dinner on Wednesday and I'm planning to serve roast leg of lamb will all the trimmings.
The problem is how long to cook it.
I have a 3.116kg leg of lamb and the label says 8 minutes per 100g at 170 degrees, which adds up to 249 minutes or over four hours, which seems a lot.
I've looked up various websites to see how long it needs to be in the oven and the suggested times include 158 minutes, 186 minutes, 124 minutes, 140 minutes and 207 minutes, with temperatures varying from 170 degrees to 200 degrees.
I like lamb well done rather than pink.
So if you cook leg of lamb on a regular basis how long would you cook it for and at what temperature for it to be well done?
I have a fan oven. -

Four arrested after £40 milion drug seizure
Four men have been arrested after £40 million of cocaine was found in a van in a village pub car park.
Around 500kg of the drug was discovered in the back of a Vauxhall Vivaro in the car park in Lelley, East Yorkshire, the National Crime Agency said.
Officers believe a few hours before the haul was found it had been transferred to shore in a rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) travelling from a larger vessel off the Hull coast.
The RHIB was abandoned at Easington Beach, the NCA added.
The beach is around 18 miles from the Stags Head Inn in Lelley, where the drugs “with a potential street value of around £40 million” were found.
A 22-year-old from Argyll, a 32-year-old from Oban and a 24-year-old from Campbeltown, all in Scotland, were arrested at 8.30am on Saturday in Lelley, as well as a 39-year-old from Colombia, the NCA added.
Senior investigating officer Alan French said: “This was a significant amount of cocaine and its seizure will be a sizeable blow to the organised crime group which attempted to smuggle it into the UK.
“There’s no doubt these drugs would have been sold into communities around the UK, fuelling further crime and exploitation.
“Working with our law enforcement partners we are determined to do all we can to disrupt criminal activity, and protect the UK’s border security.
“Our investigation continues following these arrests.”
The NCA operation was supported by Humberside Police, Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit and Border Force.

Andrew Bridgen being proved right
He started another debate in the Commons last week to look into excess deaths and injuries caused by the Covid vaccines.
Almost as many people have died or had serious side effects or injuries from having the Covid vaccine, than died from Covid itself.
There is now solid evidence as "death caused by Covid vaccine" is being recorded on death certificates.
When he introduced the debate there were cheers from the public gallery. -
When my MIL was in a home and couldn't eat much they gave her some sort of drink and it really made a difference.
Can anyone suggest a drink which would help an elderly person gain weight? I only know of Complan and I've used it myself but I didn't like it. The only bearable version was the chocolate one. -
Disability: Doctor assumed woman using wheelchair did not have sex
A disabled woman, Kat Watkins, shared her experiences of facing barriers in healthcare due to her disability.
She recounted an incident during a smear test where a consultant assumed she was not sexually active because of her disability and recommended cancelling future tests.
Ms. Watkins also described feeling like she was treated as a "textbook example" rather than an individual, leading to multiple visits to obtain a result.
Additionally, she mentioned an instance where hospital staff did not believe her when she reported broken bones in her leg, which was later confirmed to be broken in five places.

UK Government - Definition of Antisemitism
The UK Government’s overall policy is that it is up to the victim to determine whether a crime against them was motivated by any particular characteristics. This builds trust in the police among minority communities, and allows flexibility in our response.
However, for those seeking a definition of antisemitism, the UK’s College of Policing does include a working definition of antisemitism in their guidance to police forces in the UK. The full guidance is available from their website here and the definition is reproduced in full here:
"Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.
In addition, such manifestations could also target the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity. Antisemitism frequently charges Jews with conspiring to harm humanity, and it is often used to blame Jews for “why things go wrong.” It is expressed in speech, writing, visual forms and action, and employs sinister stereotypes and negative character traits.
Contemporary examples of antisemitism in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in the religious sphere could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to:
Calling for, aiding, or justifying the killing or harming of Jews in the name of a radical ideology or an extremist view of religion.
Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.
Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.
Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.
Examples of the ways in which antisemitism manifests itself with regard to the State of Israel taking into account the overall context could include:
Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.
Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.
However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic. Antisemitic acts are criminal when they are so defined by law (for example, denial of the Holocaust or distribution of antisemitic materials in some countries).
Criminal acts are antisemitic when the targets of attacks, whether they are people or property – such as buildings, schools, places of worship and cemeteries – are selected because they are, or are perceived to be, Jewish or linked to Jews.
Antisemitic discrimination is the denial to Jews of opportunities or services available to others and is illegal in many countries."

Hi
In a couple of weeks (Sunday 12th May) I'll be taking part in the Marsden March - A fifteen mile sponsored walk from near the Marsden Hospital in Chelsea to the other Marsden Hospital in Sutton, passing through Putney, Wimbledon Common, Raynes Park, Stonecot Hill, North Cheam, Cheam and Belmont. The aim is to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity - The Marsden's target this year is to raise one and a half million pounds with around 5000 walkers.
Some of you have already donated to my Marsden fund (thank you for that). If anybody else would like to contribute my fundraising page can be found at:
https://march.royalmarsden.org/fundraisers/tonylang/marsden-march
I've lost a lot of friends and family to various forms of cancer and the Marsden cured the cancer of a good friend, so I'd like to raise as much money as I can.
The website of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity gives more detail about the March at:
https://www.royalmarsden.org/support-us/banham-marsden-march
Every donation helps to make a difference, so please support me however you can.
I'll be starting at around 9am and I'm aiming for a time of four and a half hours or better, which I think is a reasonable time as I'm 63.
I have a tracking app on my phone and I'll post the results and some photos later.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Top Tory MP defects to Labour in fury at NHS crisis
Tory MP and former health minister, Dr Dan Poulter, defected to Labour, criticizing the Conservatives for becoming a "nationalist party of the right" and abandoning compassion and NHS prioritization.
Poulter, who works as a part-time mental health doctor, announced his resignation as a Tory MP and will join Labour until the next election.
He will not seek re-election to the House of Commons but plans to advise Labour on mental health policies while focusing on his NHS work.
