      Create a screen grab...

Several times I have seen people asking how to take a screenshot (or Screen Grab) from their computer or phone.
Recently I was sent a link to a very useful web site that explains in simple terms how to do so for various devices.
I have written a post about it in the Tech Heads group:

      The Pastor's Ass (round 2)

Due to size constraints, the previous Pastor'sAss post has now closed.
But here is a new one...
      -—-----------------------------------------------------1
      Desert Dehydration

There are these two French Legionnaires in the desert, and they’ve been separated from their unit and are lost. They’ve been wandering for several days without food and water, and are nearly resigned to the fact that they will soon die from dehydration, when as they reach the top of a sand dune, they see a big, bustling market laid out before them.

Naturally, they can’t believe their eyes and think it’s a mirage, but as they draw closer, they can hear the stallholders’ cries. They eventually reach the market and realise that it’s really there.

So the legionnaires rush up to the first stall they can and cry to the stallholder,

“Stallholder, we have been travelling in the desert for many days, and have had no food or water. We shall surely die soon unless you have some you can sell us – tell us, do you have any sustenance for us?”

The stallholder shook his head and replied “I’m sorry, French legionnaire type people, but all I have to sell is a load of bowls full of jelly, topped with custard and cream, and lovingly sprinkled with hundreds and thousands.”

The legionnaires look at each other, mildly surprised, and move on to the next stall, where they ask the stallholder, “Mr purveyor of fine foodstuffs and the like, we have been travelling through the desert for days, deprived of the necessary beverages and foodstuffs which are required for survival. We shall surely die soon, unless you can sell us some skins of water.”

The stallholder looked at them embarrassed, and confessed:

“Gentlemen, tragic as I admit it is, I have none of the ingredients necessary to life for which you ask me…all I have to sell is this large bowl of jelly topped with custard and cream and sprinkled with hundreds and thousands, with a little cocktail cherry in the middle – there,” he said, pointing out the glace cherry. “I cannot help you..”

The legionnaires look at each other in desperation, and run on to the next stall, where they demand of the stallholder,

“Look mate,” (cos they’d stopped talking funny all of a sudden) “we need water or we’ll bloody die. We’ve been travelling without water for days and need some now. Do you have any you can sell us?”

The stallholder looked at his curl-ended shoes in shame as he confessed,

“Sorry, fellas, all I have to sell you is a bowl of jelly, with custard, cream and hundreds and thousands. I can’t help you. I’ll have to condemn you to a long and lingering death through dehydration.”

The legionnaires were really worried by this point, and they went through the market, stall by stall, asking each stallholder whether they had any water they could sell them, and thus save their lives, but each stallholder gave the same reply, all they had to sell was a bowl of jelly with cream, custard and hundreds and thousands.

Dejected and resigned to their grim fate, the legionnaires left the desert market and walked off into the setting sun. As they did so, one turned to the other and said, “That was really odd – a big market in the middle of nowhere, and all they sold was bowls of jelly with custard, cream and hundreds and thousands.”

The other turned to face his companion and replied,

“Yes, it was a trifle bazaar”

      Gentlemen - Please note... (Edited)

I have lifted this article from the Mail on Sunday "You" Magazine.
The importance of the message cannot be ignored.
The main thing about removing prostate cancer from your body is "The Margin". If there is not enough margin, or it is too late to operate, the probability is that the cancer will spread, fairly swiftly through the rest of your body. Bill Turnbull, unfortunately, didn't have his diagnosis in time to remove the prostate (along with the cancer). Once it is loose in the body it will be very difficult to try to control, let alone eliminate.
Please, please, please gents. Have a PSA test regularly so that you can save yourself a lot of problems in the future. It can be requested from your GP surgery.

For more information on everything to do with prostate cancer, please follow this link: https://prostatecanceruk.org/----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the article I referred to above (A link to the article can be found here: https://www.you.co.uk/dr-clare-bailey-men-dont-ignore-these-symptoms/ )
Dr Clare Bailey: Men, don’t ignore these symptoms
      February 9, 2020
Do you have a man in your life who you have to nag to seek medical advice? It sounds like a cliché but it’s true that men are less likely to go to the doctor than women – and this could contribute to why we’re seeing a rise in deaths from prostate cancer.

While breast cancer deaths have reduced by a fifth over the past ten years, the number of men dying from prostate cancer has worryingly increased by 18 per cent. By 2030 it is predicted to become the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. Currently, less than half of cases are identified early, when there is a greater chance of a cure. The NHS wants to increase this to 75 per cent.
The standard test measures a marker for prostate cancer called prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in a blood sample, accompanied by a rectal examination. Unfortunately, the PSA test is not very reliable. Only 25 per cent of men who have elevated levels have cancer. Other conditions such as inflammation of the prostate gland, urinary tract infection and benign enlargement of the prostate can cause abnormal PSA. This can lead to anxiety and side effects from unnecessary investigations. So it’s important to chat with your doctor about any concerns before testing.
The good news is that more accurate tests are becoming available. These include the pre-biopsy MRI scan, which is used to identify tumour size and improves the accuracy of results. After a diagnosis the challenge is whether to intervene with surgery, risking impotence and urinary incontinence, or to monitor PSA levels and intervene if they rise. This ‘active surveillance’ or ‘watchful waiting’ is for those whose cancer is unlikely to spread or affect their lifespan.
Aggressive cancer is treated with surgery, radiation therapy, hormones and/or chemotherapy. Stereotactic radiotherapy is a new treatment in the pipeline that doesn’t involve surgery. Targeted beams of radiation are focused on a precise area to radically improve accuracy of diagnosis, more effectively kill cancer cells and reduce complications. Trials suggest shorter intense doses can cut treatment time by 75 per cent.
According to Prostate Cancer UK, most men with early prostate cancer don’t have symptoms. However, you are more at risk if you are over 50, a black male, or have close male relatives who have had the disease. Early symptoms can include…
Urinary problems Passing urine more frequently or feeling that your bladder is not fully empty (benign prostate enlargement can also cause these). Blood in the urine should be investigated more urgently.
Sexual problems Erectile dysfunction may be a symptom. Blood in semen should always be investigated promptly.
Pain, numbness or weakness in the testicles. And if cancer has spread to other parts of the body, pain affecting the back or pelvis.
Unexplained weight loss This should always be checked out.
Although diagnosis is increasing, according to Prostate Cancer UK, a man diagnosed in 2020 has a much improved chance of survival compared with one diagnosed ten years ago.

My area had suddenly gone 20 mph limit crazy everywhere (Edited)

Is this happening all over as recently main wide roads with no schools on usually 30mph have now gone to 20 & no one one is taking it seriously....I try to stick to the limit which in an automatic means speedo watching regularly and then am continually tailgated by any driver who storm up behind me at 30 so as well as Speedo watching and looking in my mirror at the irritated behind driver trying to force my speed.. I stick to my guns and crawl along at the ridiculous low speed on a main rd and then I get drivers dangerously over take on the wrong side of the road or today I was hooted at when we were actually driving past a 20 sign...How is this making roads safer continually speed/mirror watching, tailgating or dangerous overtaking angry drivers. Makes me feel stressed driving on these slow roads so try to take different routes to avoid but difficult as everywhere Is like it.
I hate the fact I’m doing my best to stick within legal limits and are made to feel I’m wrong not the idiots who want to hit 30 in a 20 zone.
I read that 86% of drivers ignore the 20 mph limit... does anyone else actually try to drive at 20 or is it just me that worries about it?
And if you are one of the tailgaters why force others to break the speed limit risking them fines and penalty points.
Can’t understand why they have made main roads 20 mph its crazy.

We currently have more than 74,000 trees across the borough and around 9,000 trees line the streets of Barking and Dagenham.

The news comes after Barking and Dagenham was also gifted 272 trees from the government’s Urban Tree Challenge Fund and the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund.

      What Can We Do?

Botswana, home to the world's largest elephant population, on Friday was set to hold a major auction for big game hunters to kill 70 elephants, the first since scrapping a hunting ban last year.

The sale will be conducted by a local firm Auction It from the premises of the Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Tourism in the capital Gaborone.

President Mokgweetsi Masisi raised the ire of conservationists in May when he revoked a moratorium, just a year after he succeeded Ian Khama, an avid environmentalist, who introduced a blanket ban in 2014 to reverse a decline in the population of wild animals.

Masisi fended off criticism of his government's decision, saying the move would not threaten the elephant population.

Phoned credit card for advice, she tried again to send code to landline without success. I asked for security code to be text to mobile explaining that I am hard of hearing and can not hear over mobile plus we have weak signal so I would have to go outside to find a signal. No success.I asked for an email -- can not do.I asked if I could use a card reader ---can not do.

Now I have to wait for post to arrive and it is the weekend.

Advance notice ---- and it is Leap Year.

Propose Day Date in the current year: February 8, 2020
Propose Day Propose Day is celebrated on February 8, the second day of the Valentine’s week. If you’ve been meaning to propose to your significant other for quite some time but haven’t actually gotten to do it yet, this day is just for you!

Valentine’s Day is a holiday of love and romance, which is celebrated not only in Christian countries (in fact, it has long been absent from the official church calendar), but also around the world. For many people, Valentine's Day is a great occasion to finally propose to their significant other, but some believe that this is too cheesy. If you belong to the latter, consider proposing to your sweetheart on Propose Day, which is celebrated earlier than Valentine’s Day, but during the same week. And if their answer is “Yes!”, you can properly celebrate your engagement on February 14.

Back in the day, in many cultures it was traditional for a man to ask permission to marry from a woman’s father before proposing to her or even instead of proposing. In some cases, the woman’s opinion didn’t really matter; a marriage was a kind of a business transaction where the woman and her dowry were passed from one man (father or an older relative) to another. Sadly, the tradition persists in some cultures even today.

Luckily, in most of the Western world women are free to decide whom to marry (or whether they want to get married at all), and sometimes even are the first to propose to their partners instead of waiting to be asked the big question. Do you know, for example, that Queen Victoria had to propose to Prince Albert because she was a reigning monarch at the time of their engagement? In the United States, about 5% of women are the first to propose, so jewelry companies have even started manufacturing engagement rings for men.

There are a lot of ways to propose. Some prefer the traditional option, where the person who is proposing (usually the man) bends a knee in front of their significant other, asks “Will you marry me?” and presents an engagement ring. Some surprise their significant other by hiding a ring in a dessert or dropping it in a glass of champagne, and some arrange treasure hunts or flash mobs to make their marriage proposal really unforgettable.

Be that as it may, the main thing is that a marriage proposal should be made sincerely and with love, not just because you’re expected to propose. That is why some people prefer to propose on February 8 instead of Valentine’s Day, so that their partner won’t think that they have succumbed to the Valentine’s Day “love fever” and can be sure in the sincerity of their feelings and the seriousness of their intentions.

By the way, in addition to Propose Day, there are other holidays when you can propose to your significant other. For example, National Proposal Day in the United States is celebrated on March 20. And in Scotland, Ireland, England and Finland, there is a custom where a woman can propose to her partner on February 29 in a leap year.

Safer Internet Day Date in the current year: February 4, 2020

Safer Internet Day Safer Internet Day is an annual observance organized by the Insafe network each February. It is dedicated to raising awareness of emerging online issues, from social networking to cyberbullying, and making Internet a safer place for kids and young people across the world.

Safer Internet Day was founded in 2004 as an initiative of the European Union SafeBorder project. The next year, the Insafe network took over the organization. Originally a European observance, Safer Internet Day is celebrated across all populated continents, in over 100 countries. It promotes more responsible use of Internet and gadgets by children and young people who are growing up in a digital environment.

Technology has become an integral part of our lives, but a lot of people are unaware of the challenges and opportunities online. That's why Safer Internet Day is so important. It aims to educate people of all ages across the world about Internet through events at schools and colleges, conferences, press conferences, and other events. On this day, industry professionals gather to exchange their ideas on what a safer and better online world is and how to create it.

      Palindrome Day

Nobody seems to have mentioned it but today's a palindrome date ie: 02-02-2020 and we won't see another one like it for a while.

It's also the 33rd day of the year with 333 days left.
