As many have this last few weeks , with his Grammy and half time show at the Super Bowl, tonight he is in the film Bullet Train on channel 4.
A crazy comedy thriller , which I’ve seen before I immediately recognised Bad Bunny but thought I must be confused lol
But I looked the cast up and sure enough it really is him.
This film is honestly probably one of the most comedic violent films ever made and so far fetched it’s quite amazing 🤩 so I’m watching it again . Cannot think why channel 4 thought it an ideal film for Valentine’s Day 🥰 -
Brendan Frazer stars as an American actor in Japan who is offered a new unusual opportunity.
People need an extra family member, an apologist, a friend, a journalist or a father!
A touching, tear jerker of a film. Clever with some unexpected turns. We loved it - there are- lot of subtitles but it’s absolutely perfect in my eyes.
Highly recommended -
Trying to put my feelings into words and reviewing this film would not have been enough so I am
Attaching a review which I think describes it perfectly
https://www.irishnews.com/entertainment/hamnet-review-jessie-buckley-and-paul-mescal-are-quietly-devastating-in-this-story-of-how-grief-shaped-shakespeares-greatest-tragedy-GLYUSR4M25GYFFGLFYZOKUKKFE/
All I will say is that Paul
Mescal and Jessie Buckley were phenomenal -
I knew nothing about this film other than it was about a couple who met , fell in love and were appearing on stage singing Neil Diamond songs. I love a musical and thought this was probably just what it was going to be
https://youtu.be/VkBLV8YhX1U?si=tSWkTRdRZC6DNrkT
The first part of the film was exactly that - then it changed . Take tissues
Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson were wonderful the chemistry between them was almost magical
When I got home I googled and found it was a true story . Even more tissues and more to see online
Wonderful film -
The second of the two films . Saw the first on video but this one at the cinema.
Not usually mine or my husband’s type of film in some ways although it is a musical but we loved it. Full of talent , colour, imagination, love, tragedy and heartbreak . There were only six of us at the cinema in the afternoon so I do hope it’s attracting more people in the evenings and at the weekends. -

The least frightening films ever made
After we've all watched scary Halloween films, here is the top ten of films to calm your nerves. How many do you recognise? For me it's two.
10. Before Sunset - 2004
9. Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives - 2010
8. Playtime - 1967
7. The Straight Story - 1999
6. Paterson - 2016
5. Farmageddon: The Shaun The Sheep Movie - 2019
4. Marcel The Shell With Shoes On - 2021
3. Singing In The Rain - 1952
2. Kiki's Delivery Service
1. Perfect Days
The number one film is about a man who cleans public toilets for the whole two hours. Should also be the number two. -
2022 film now available on the BBC Iplayer
Set in a nhs unit for the elderly being considered for closure. The film is an adaption of an Alan Bennett play. It was made to celebrate 75 years of the NHS
It certainly attracted a lot of well known actors
including Derek Jacobi, Judy Dench, Russell Tovey, David Bradley, Julia McKenzie. The main star being Jennifer Saunders.
Sweet, very touching and the end is somewhat unexpected. I recommend. -
But ….
https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/film/netflix-movies-leaving-soon-pearl-streaming-where-to-watch-best-thrillers-394837/#
There’s only a few days left to watch this and once I started it I watched it until the end -
On Netflix. This modern Italian dubbed film is
an excellent example of what happened after the Second World War in Italy. Where children from poor families in the south went to live with families that were better off in the north of the country.
It starts by showing the grown man, then going back to his childhood.
A beautiful honest film, and whilst it was not
a completely true story it certainly touched my heart . -
Harriet - only on Netflix until 31st May
Harriet is a 2019 biographical film about the life of former slave and abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who personally helped more than 70 slaves escape to freedom via the Underground Railroad
Just watched - great 👍 -
Where the Crawdads Sing (Edited)
Now on my4 catchup, after being on Channel 4 last night.
A long but very worthwhile watch. I had seen many excellent reviews , some saying it is a film that would ‘stay with you’.
Now having watched it I can certainly agree. In some places cruel and brutal in others very sad, a tale of love also runs through it, even though it’s main story is about the murder, or at least the death of someone. The main character of the film being arrested and charged for his death. It kept us guessing until the very last moments.
Beautiful scenery and set in the 1950’s and 60’s
Highly recommend -
'Con Mum' on Netflix (Edited)
Be sure to watch this if you can. Don't google any information before you watch.
Closed to avoid spoilers. This discussion is now closed.

Although this is a 2012 film, as it has Eddie Murphy in it, we thought we’d put our feet up this afternoon and watch it.
Glad we did. It’s an easy film to watch and although it starts out a bit crazy, it does have a message and it’s mostly fun
If you have nothing else to do look it up -
Netflix. I usually avoid series but after watching Champions I decided to watch this with another member of the original cast of Cheers in the title role .
‘A retired professor gets a new lease on life when a private investigator hires him to go undercover inside a San Francisco retirement home’
Ted Danson is superb and the storyline is not only about the disappearance of the jewellery .
Sweet, touching, funny and informative
Another series to follow. Just hope they don’t overdo it or rush to write it. This one is perfect -
Starring Woody Harrelson and a beautiful cast of young people with ‘intellectual challenges’ as I think Americans call them.
It’s far fetched but funny 🤣 Woody in his role as their ‘coach’ after being forced to spend 90 days with them.
He starts out as an arrogant man and gradually changes . It’s cute , the cast are all brilliant.
It’s on Netflix now -

Action comedy
Two words
Absolutely Brilliant
Three more words
Don’t miss it

A Complete Unknown (Edited)
Out yesterday, we sat watching this with maybe 50 other pensioners. Most of which were probably expecting an interesting storyline and quite a lot of music.
My personal experience was it was too long, boring and made Dylan look like an arrogant self centred git!
After using the facilities I found my husband chatting to a man in the Foyer who had also just seen the film. His opinion - disappointed ☹️
Let’s see what the critics say

Just been to the cinema - second time this week , this time we went to see this .Very intense film, interesting, even frightening in places but honest, beautiful and with exceptional cinematography. Extremely clever musical scenes . Stunning , it’ll probably win awards
As you may have seen in the advertisements for it, Robbie Williams is played or looks like a chimpanzee through the film. It’s clever and really makes sense as the film progresses.
Anyone else seen it? Do you agree with how I felt about it? -

I never thought of the comedian Aisling Bea as an actress but in this film she is the star, alongside flashbacks with her ‘fiancée’ who passes away early in the film. Played by Colin Lewes Hanks, eldest son of Tom.
The storyline didn’t sound great as Aisling plans to continue with plans to ‘marry’ her partner even though he has suddenly died
As the film progressed, apart from some bad language, the story becomes more interesting and by the end we were reaching for tissues, after laughing at the silliness of a lot of it.
Quite endearing, sad and in places even romantic -
Don't miss this catfish documentary - Stick with it - You won't be disappointed.
-
Thoroughly enjoyed this film last night. Must admit I have loved most of Tom Hanks films.
-
Just watched - great true story about industrial contamination - well worth watching.
-
Currently showing on ITVx, Joan is the true story of jewel thief Joan Harrington.
Her partner in crime is dodgy antiques dealer Boysie.
It wouldn't surprise me if he was the inspiration for Boycie in Only Fools and Horses. -
I am sitting watching this wonderful film showing on BBC 2 and expect it will be on the Iplayer straight after

The Adam Project (Netflix) 2022
I would not usually look at a film that says it’s sci fi but I am so glad that I did this time.
Touching, thrilling, fast paced, heart rending. I think I will watch this over again and again, like I did all those years ago with ET.
Time travel with a boy visited by his grown self (Ryan Reynolds) an extraordinary action packed adventure. Outstanding
Highly recommend -
Netflix . Starring Olivia Colman
Comedy/drama
Was a bit dubious about watching this as some reviews said it was slow but I found the pace very reassuring, giving enough time to fully understand how a female solicitor with a newborn baby , that she plans to give to her sister, meets up with a motherless boy with a crook of a father and how they set off on an adventure together. As always Olivia Colman is brilliant and I would recommend this. Without giving too much more of the story away. Give it a try. -
Benedict Cumberbatch plays Greville Wynne, in a really good spy movie about the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
Worth 2 hours of your time. -
The Nanny diaries (Edited)
I can’t understand why I had never seen this before. On film 4 yesterday evening .
A college graduate ends up working as a nanny, a job she thinks will be easy but it’s not as it seems
Very touching in some ways but also quite funny . Even my husband liked it and it’s definitely not his usual genre. Sweet , even romantic in places. Scarlet Johanson stars -
Watched this last night on Netflix, one of the best films I've seen:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2361509/?ref_=tt_urv -
FilmFour 9pm tonight 2021
A seemingly mild mannered , quiet family man shows his true character after his house is burgled . -
The Outfit (Edited)
Only on Netflix until 10th August
I wouldn’t have noticed this film if they hadn’t been removing it.
A masterpiece - Mark Rylance at his very best.. sharp, superbly plotted, full of clever twists.
The notes said a meticulously crafted thriller.
A Tailor (cutter) from Saville Row has a lot going on around him, that he doesn’t know or understand - or does he! -
Follow GI Hun on his journey. this story is Based in South Korea with subtitles. I thought this was some sort of reality game when I saw the previews on google box. It looked interesting so I thought I would give it go. It will take your breath away. I was obsessed from start to finish. Follow Seong Gi-hun also referred to as Player 456, is the main protagonist of the Netflix series Squid Game. Gi-hun is a divorced and indebted chauffeur, former assembly worker, and an obsessed gambler. He is invited to play a series of children's games, the Squid Game, for a chance at a large cash Only these are not child friendly. They are playing for their lives. This is an emotional rollercoaster as you grow to love some of the characters and it is a heartbreaking, thrilling, edge of your seat journey from start to finish.
-
In some reviews it says it’s about a professional hitman but it’s actually a man that finds he is good at acting as if he is a hitman to help the police catch people who are trying to arrange to have another person killed.
Had never heard of it until last night but I am sure it’s going to be one of Netflix’s big hits.
Almost two hours long, the time flew by, it’s funny, ironic and basically a love story it’s also silly and a bit ridiculous but we loved it.
Has anyone else watched it?
If not give it a go. There are great twists and turns in it, especially towards the end -
Bad sisters is really good. It focuses on one sister in a very domineering relationship, and her other four siblings being recruited to try and knock him off. It has a comical element as various things they try do not work and follows the stories of the siblings so you get to know each individual character. Would loved to know if anyone has seen and what you thought.

Still: A Micheal j fox movie such an interesting docudrama on Apple TV about his life pushing through while having Parkinson’s . I had no idea that he hid it from everyone and kept working while bringing up a young family at such a young age such an inspiring man with such a lovely supportive family.

Available now on Netflix
A Ken Loach film (possibly his last)
Based in 2016 in a former mining town in Northern England rifts start to form with the arrival of refugees from war torn Syria. The families filling up houses that have lain empty for some time.
The Kindly landlord of the run down pub takes the brunt of locals anger, biased and racist attitudes for his friendship with Yara who arrives with her family and her camera.
As always Loach’s down to earth approach, honesty and sometimes grim detail is realistic, at times heartwarming, at other times heartbreaking.
Our opinion (family) Beautiful, endearing, sad, touching - don’t miss it -
This film was on BBC 2 yesterday and is now on the Iplayer.
Billed as a crime drama I felt it was so much more. Whilst the family say it is not accurate and there are many changes and inaccuracies to what happened in real life. It is based on a true story.
Lady Gaga in the starring role alongside Adam Driver was superb throughout and I enjoy a film where I learn something from it.
I would recommend watching it but reading the true story as well. In the film they forget the couple had two children. 👧🏻 -
I know this an old film but a beautiful one (1941) if you love old films, which I do. You will need a big box of tissues!
Edna Gladney lost her son when he was very young. By chance she discovered the injustice within the law towards children whose parents are unknown, and decided to open an orphanage for these children, despite the stigma. She fought against the unfair laws that discriminated against children born out of wedlock. -
I loved this film called 'The Last Bus' with Timothy Spall, such a very fine Actor.
Shows how love conquers all and true love never dies.
I watched it on BBC I player. -
The Electrical life of Louis Wain (2021) now on Netflix (Edited)
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch ( with a prosthetic nose) and Claire Foy and featuring a host of stars from Toby Jones, Taika Waititi, Sharon Rooney, Nick Cave and Richard Ayoade to Adele Akhtar, Asim Chaudhry and Siobhan McSweeney
Based on and apparently very close to the extraordinary true life story of the British ‘cat artist’ Louis Wain.
You’ll either love it or loathe it according to critics . Depends on, maybe your heart ❤️
Rotten tomatoes reviews are interesting
I found it a charming study of an incredible life, beautifully shot, romantic, tragic and well worth getting engrossed in.
