Take yourself back to Summer.... (Edited)
Feeling you are back into the lovely hot Summer we had? Do watch Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer (not forgetting Ted) and watch them fishing on BBC2. I watched 2 episodes tonight that I had recorded. So very funny and the beautiful country sides they chose to cast their rods. I threw off my snuggly blanket and felt warm again just watching them fishing in Devon and Wales, a lovely programme.

Saying that you are gay is now offensive
Andrew Doyle, who is openly gay, has told how he was called out for saying he was gay.
He replied to someone on social media with the opening phrase, " As a gay man...blah blah". He was immediately called oiut and told he was offending people, and that he should be saying, "As a member of the LGBTQ+ community...."
Another example of trans activists bullying normal gay people. -
Not a happy topic but I have just been reading the very sad twitter posts sent by Molly Russell to various celebrities. She was the teenager who later went on to take her own life. So often itβs extremely difficult for parents to know what to say and do if their children are depressed. This guide seems very helpful.

Smart tv problem . We have a Samsung curved tv that we are quite happy with . It is around 5 years old but we have just been told that we will no longer be able to watch itv hub after end of Sept This is due to update/licence for certain models ( pre 2015)
We have iPads and phones that all still support the app Is there any way we can stream from another appliance to our tv ( Wi-Fi / hdmi lead or something as donβt really want to throw away a perfectly working tv and spend a fortune on a new one Especially as to buy new we would have to look for a 2022 model so wouldnβt get a sale bargain as the same thing will happen again in a few years . Talk about waste . I know that we could use the tv without the itv hub but itβs mostly how we watch tv due to our lifestyle Please donβt suggest sky / virgin as do t want to pay for something I wouldnβt really use much Any help appreciated Thank you -
I haven't so far and wanted to hold out to October but it is chilly indoors, lots of people on FB saying they have put theirs on.

The Two Previous Charles's (Edited)
Charles I -
Charles I survived the English Civil War, but was imprisoned and put on trial for high treason and sentenced to death by beheading.
Charles I was charged with high treason and βother high crimes against the realm of England.β
The sentence of death was read on January 27; his execution was ordered as a tyrant, traitor, murderer, and public enemy. The sentence was carried out on a scaffold erected outside the banqueting hall of Whitehall on the morning of Tuesday, January 30, 1649. The king went bravely to his death, still claiming that he was βa martyr for the people.β A week later he was buried at Windsor.
Charles II - exiled and pleasure seeking - father of 12 illegitimate children.

CNN reporter was so disrespectful at Windsor .
He said, "and there's Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan. and also with them are two other royals". Disrespectful American tosser, those two other royals are the more important ones, Prince and Princess of Wales.
Also Christiane Amanpour who used to be a top journalist, droning on about will King Charles deal with colonialism and pay slavery reperations. Because the British people are demanding justice.
Are we? I don't even know who we would pay, as anyone connected to trans atlantic slavery is dead. -
I am considering having a small chimney breast removed in my small room. I cannot believe what one has to do for this. I know a steel would be needed (although there is no chimney breast above in this hobbit house, who decides the strength of that. I had a private surveyor here yesterday who spent ages telling me that support for shared chimney stack would have to go under floorboards upstairs until I said why can't there just been a steel where the breast would be taken out. Spent an hour on phone for Council Building Control then gave up and I'm totally confused by Party Wall Agreement which can cost in the Β£1000+ region. Would anyone know if it is correct that a surveyor photos neighbour's wall prior to work being carried out - but if cracks appear a few years later, who pays to put them right, does the original builder have to come back, do you have to pay to have job redone or how long does the P/wall agreement apply?
I'm semi-prepared for the cost of all this, not sure yet if I can stand the big upheaval but will turn violent if anybody else says to me what are you gaining. -

Should everything shut for the Queen's funeral Bank holiday?
I think for such an historic event, all shops should be made to close all day, even supermarkets. We are getting plenty of warning, so we can buy our food on Sunday.

I watched TV programme and I like their theory. No advertising, no internet selling due to too many returns and handling which in the end is more expensive. They even now looking to save on materials e.g. making some clothes shorter which is good news as I am under 5ft. They say that is how they can sell cheap.
Years ago I only shopped once in Primark -- umbrella as it was raining.
What I would like to know have they improved in quality? Are they catering now for the βveryβ mature person or is it still buy, wear a few times and throw? -

Very upsetting⦠(Edited)
To see the way a cat and a kitten are treated by the owner living outside N14 old police station. Offer of help for the kitties was far from welcome. Chloe the cat owner obvious substance user told me she was there by choice and enjoyed that lifestyle. She said her partner sits outside nearby shops and begs. One cat has a harness and lead and is usually tied to the railings. The kitten is on a lead either tied to the railings or in a carrier. Sadly yesterday i witnessed Chloe walking up Winchmore Hill road with the black and white cat on a lead in the pouring rain and the kitten in a carrier held at an angle. The cat on a lead did not want to walk and was being dragged along. So selfish to submit cats to such a lifestyle. Very upsetting. I am very sad and angry over this. Please report to rspca who so far have not done anything about it though visited and were told by Chloe she will be rehomed in two weeks. Yet she told me this is how she and partner want to liveβ¦

Sports reaction to the death of The Queen
Some sports have decided to stop this weekend. Football, Golf, Racing and Boxing.
Some sports are carrying on as normal. Cricket, and Rugby.
Who has got it right?
I originally thought football got it right by postponing every match, but now I think they should have played matches but held a minutes silence followed by the National Anthem at every match. -
A love story.... (Edited)
Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as I whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and saw I was asleep.
All my family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with my Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where Kings and Queens,
are Monarchs every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above. -
