I can see that some members are having trouble posting links. When you post a link to a website, you should not post it as a link obtained using a search engine and which includes the search engine's name in the result. If you do this, the image which you can usually click will take you to the search engine's website instead, as in this link to X: google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&... This is because Scooploop reads the website at the beginning of the link to create the clickable image. Clicking the link instead of the image will take you to the intended location, but to avoid confusion, always post a link directly to the website. https://www.scooploop.com/thread/using-scooploop-basics-no18-posting-links-to -

From Essexlive 'A "vital" bus route which transports people to an Essex hospital will be restored later this month following a summit meeting between transport bosses and an MP. First Essex has announced it will bring back the 21A bus route which connects Southend Hospital to other parts of the borough. The service, which is an extension of the 21 service, will run every hour during the middle of the day from Monday to Saturday and will serve Carlton Avenue in Westcliff, providing access to residents to Southend and Leigh. It comes following a huge meeting between bosses and Anna Firth, MP for Southend West, at the end of March. This service has been made possible through the use of Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding awarded by HM Government to Southend City Council - believed to be just under £1million - and will provide "increased convenience and flexibility" for passengers wanting to access the hospital. Julian Elliott, Head of Network at First East of England said: “First Essex is proud to be working in partnership with Southend-on-Sea City Council to meet the evolving needs of our customers and the community. The new 21A service underscores the collective effort to ensure sustainable and reliable services for residents and visitors to South Essex.” Following her summit meeting with transport leaders, Anna Firth said: "For well over an hour, we discussed the current and future provision of buses in Southend. We spoke at length about the long-term plans for the bus operators, as well as the current challenges they face to operate in Southend. "Local transport remains crucial to many in Southend West and Leigh, so it is vital that we have a bus network befitting our new city status. Absolutely no residents should be left completely unserved or isolated as a result of a withdrawn service." Promoted Stories Passengers can visit the First Essex website or download the First Bus app for more information on the new service, which will begin on Monday, April 15.' -

A couple from an Essex village who have spent more than 70 years combined serving their community are set to retire. St Osyth residents, Tony Jackson and his wife Belinda decided to retire decades spent helping others in careers at Essex County Council. Tony and Belinda have served their community, both Tendring and Colchester, for a total of 72 years in "a life in service". Tony's love for working closely with people began in a residential care home where he worked as a handyman. He met Belinda and the world where people make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities. Tony and Belinda's joint journey in serving those in need began, and Tony took a full-time job in a team of carers. The couple decided to train as social workers and completed the training together, taking another step closer to their dream jobs. Belinda said: "I don't think they had had a man and wife couple before, and we had to sleep in different units during our training." Tony and Belinda went further and decided to take their social engagement a step further by specialising. Tony changed course and went into Adult Social care, whilst Belinda remained committed to the world of children with disabilities, and children and family support. Tony worked his way up the career ladder becoming a senior social worker and finally ending his career, as the manager of a social work team in Colchester supporting people, both staff and service users pre and post-Covid, at the hospital. Alongside their social work careers, Tony and Belinda also became shared carers and offered support in their own home to children, allowing their families a break from the caring role. Tony and Belinda have three children, two daughters, a son and two grandchildren, and are now looking forward to some quality time with their family at home. Their inspiring journey has been a testament to care workers in all sectors, paying special tribute to those who work with children with disabilities. A spokesman for Essex County Council said both would be missed by all those who had the pleasure of meeting them through their work. https://www.clactonandfrintongazette.co.uk/news/24227680.essex-couple-retires-70-years-care-work/ -
