Some good news about the Southport victims
All the children and the teacher have been discharged from hospital.

Hi. I have been asked if it’s ok to use expletives in post’s in Anything ! The answer is NO, I am not going to explain why because it’s obvious, Anyone who cannot converse without the use of expletives will have to self-redact their comments ( using * is ok ) I can only delete whole comments if people ignore my instructions, so that’s what will happen and the member may well earn a lengthy suspension for being so naughty.
Please feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves, perhaps take a poll to see what the co-census of opinion is. -

Was browsing and came across this statement The last thing I would have mentioned is Ireland.
.Utopia means “non-place” therefore by definition a strict utopia can only be fictional. However, the country which is closest to having established a perfect society is Switzerland; far beyond Denmark which comes second; followed by Ireland. -

Olympics brutal qualification. (Edited)
Currently watching the women's 800m heats. Only the winner of each heat automatically qualifies for the semi-final round. That is brutal.
I think there will be a few "fastest losers" to qualify. -

Thoughts of a recently released Russian.
Mr Kara-Murza said he wanted "to remind people in democratic countries that Russia and Putin are not the same thing".
"I will absolutely carry on," he told the BBC following the news conference.
"I care about my country - and I think Russia deserves better than a corrupt KGB dictator. I want to make sure that Russia becomes... a normal, modern, democratic country." -

Does your town have a Sainsburys? (Edited)
I was in Orpington Sainsburys this morning and the supervisor woman was making a big effort to get people with baskets to use the self scan checkouts. She said in about 3 weeks time all the staff operated checkouts will be gone. It will be all self scan checkouts for shoppers with baskets. Shoppers buying a trolley load will be encouraged to use the handheld scan and go scanners.
Talking to a couple of the staff, I think they are being conned into thinking there will be no job losses. -

"Trump wore a “loose, large white bandage that covered his right ear” during the interview that was conducted on Trump’s private plane as he flew to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention, according to the report.
No pictures were allowed to be taken of the former president wearing the bandage, per Goodwin.
Elsewhere in the interview, Trump said he’s “supposed to be dead.”
“A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen,” he added of an image of him pumping his fist before being escorted away by agents.
“They’re right and I didn’t die. Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture,” he added."

The ventral tegmental area floods the brain with dopamine. The brain's reward system kicks into overdrive, processing these rewarding sensations and linking the rush of passion with other complex emotions like attachment and empathy. It's why you might feel addicted to that special person you can't stop thinking about.
