      Any information much appreciated

      Hello everyone,

It is with real sadness that I'm posting because today marks a year that our cat Tilda has been missing.

I appreciate that a lot of time has passed but on the anniversary of her going I wanted to see if I could jog someone's memory about anything, anything at all that could provide some answers as to what happened to her.

So, Tilda was only one year old when she went and looked like a young cat.

She was a microchipped and neutered black, brown and grey tabby. Her face looked a little Siamese and she had a distinctive set of markings on her left hand side which made an 'O' and 'T' shape.

Tilda was a real homebody and she and her sister didn't really stray beyond our garden and the garden next door. We live mid-terrece and the only way out onto the street would be to go through someone's house. Although it's surprising as she was very shy with anyone apart from us, we now think this is what must have happened.

Having never been out on the road before she would have disorientated and frightened.

Does anyone remember seeing a cat in the Esparto, Kimber road, Twilley street/ King George's Park area that looked lost, perhaps hiding under cars?

Did someone find a cat that had been hiding out in their shed or garden either deased or alive?

Does anyone know of a cat being run over? September last year or since?

I've spoken to the council several times but each time I got a different answer. One person said they definitely scan any desceased animal reported to them. The next time I rang I was told that they subcontract to a refuse company who wouldn't scan for a chip. The idea that she ended up in a bin is too upsetting.

Has anyone been feeding a cat all this time but hasn't be able to get close enough to see if they have an owner?

I appreciate a lot of time has passed but if anyone has anything useful that can add I would be very grateful

My daughter doesn't cry about her anymore but she did ask me the other day 'do you think Tilda still loves us?' ' absolutely' I said.

I want to draw this sad chapter to a close and hope that maybe just maybe she is still out there somewhere.

      Thank you for reading this

      Rebecca

      Black cat (Edited)

      Good afternoon lovely neighbours
I’m wondering if this beautiful black cat belongs to someone and if you’ve been worried about his/her whereabouts...
He/she comes into my garden everyday and stays here all day, sometimes comes into my house too.
He/she is so adorable and I love having this little visitor but I thought someone might be looking for him/her.
Please get in touch if you know to whom this adorable cat belongs

The London Streetspace programme - Balham to Colliers Wood

As London continues to emerge from the lockdown we will need to find new ways to travel.

Enabling social distancing on public transport will mean that only those who have no alternative will travel in this way.

Others will have to find alternatives. However, if the number of trips taken by private vehicles increases, London will find to a halt, with essential deliveries and emergency services stuck in gridlock. That's why TFL and the London Boroughs are developing the Streetspace programme to create more space for people to walk and cycle safely whilst social distancing as well as make London greener.

The scheme between Balham and Colliers Wood is a strategic cycling corridor which follows the Northern Line from Colliers Wood to Elephant and Castle with connections onwards to City of London. Plans will help to reduce pressure on the Northern Line and assist local buses by making it safer for people to walk and cycle through the area.

Further information is available at tfl.gov.uk/streetspace

Could anyone give me a helping hand?

I would appreciate a commuter volunteer doing the Waterloo-Earlsfield by train to collect a bag of 4 plants another volunteer is collecting from a friend (who raised the plants for me when I didn't have compost), living on the Jubilee line. The size would be a normal carrier bag size.

It would be simply taking the bag to collect at Earlsfield. Any and all replies and suggestions would be welcome!

Home cooked food donations to NHS (Edited)

      Hi lovely neighbours 🥰

I’ve posted my Japanese food delivery service on this site a few times, thank you so much for all your orders.
I would like to donate my food to NHS staff, perhaps in St George’s Hospital. I sent emails to NHS Critical but I haven’t heard back from them.
I totally understand they must be extremely busy and bombarded with similar donation offers.

Is there anyone who knows how I could contact them directly regarding the donations?
I’d very much appreciate it if you could help me.
Thank you so much in advance.

      Come and sing with us!

It’s well known that singing is good for the soul, and no more so than in these unprecedented times we are all living through. So the Southwest Songbirds (all female choir based in Earlsfield) are launching online, and we’d love female singers to join us when we resume rehearsals on Monday 20 April! For more information on how you could become a virtual Songbird and take part in our online rehearsals and concert, raising money for Shelter, please visit http://www.swsongbirds.co.uk/about

Loan of Wii controller? and Wii sports and Mario games to buy...

Just wondered if anyone has a Wii languishing unused and might be kind enough to lend me one of the controllers for the length of lockdown? I've found a console and all the bits to buy from a neighbour but one of the controllers is kaput. Also looking for Wii sports and Mario games too. Thanks

      Compost...

Funny how after a period of time some things seem to become more of a necessity than others... The World is running out of condoms and I can't find any compost that was waiting to appear in shops than boom and Covid happened.
DIY stores seem to list this as available for delivery but come to the point of actually paying for the order and suddenly NONE is in stock. I'm not sure what's happening there but I'm kind of in need of getting a couple of cubic meter if this stuff... Does anyone know where this might be possible?

Any cuttings or plants being thinned or divided?

      Hello,

I was hoping that anyone making cuttings or dividing plants that they don't need could let me have some. Any plants welcome, in this period of self isolation my plants are the only connection I have with nature.

      Thanks!

Nanny McPhee child star Raphaël Coleman dies suddenly aged 25.

      https://www.yourtango.com/2020331712/how-did-raphael-coleman-die

Nanny McPhee child star Raphaël Coleman dies suddenly aged 25. His family have confirmed that he died suddenly aged 25 after collapsing while out jogging.

Raphaël's stepdad Carsten Jensen took to Facebook to reveal that he had suffered no "prior health problems".

Raphaël starred in Nanny McPhee as Eric Brown in 2005 and also had roles in It's Alive, Edward's Turmoil and The Fourth Kind.

Coleman's real love was science. Eventually, Coleman decided to walk away from acting and pursue his real passion: science. He attended the University of Manchester, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree for Zoology in 2017. He had the opportunity to go on with his studies but opted to defer his next degree program in order to be more involved in climate activism and work in the field. He used science and creativity to fund travel and work around the world.

On his website, The Wilderlost Media - https://www.wilderlost.com/mission-and-vision he explained that he was trying to travel and do the work he loved, which meant using his skills as a photographer and filmmaker to support himself. "I'm a twenty-something Zoology graduate travelling the world on a shoestring budget, working with wildlife and exploring wildernesses," he explained. "Work in my field often doesn't pay, so I'm trying to make money online through photojournalism and filmmaking as I travel."

He also kept active on social media, sharing photos of places he travelled, as well as the animals he worked with wildlife rescues.

Eventually, he joined forces with Extinction Rebellion, a group dedicated to "an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience in an attempt to halt mass extinction and minimize the risk of social collapse." They engage in non-violent protest and often get arrested as part of the efforts to raise awareness.

In an article he wrote for their website under the name Iggy Fox - https://rebellion.earth/2020/02/07/this-is-why-i-rebel/, he explained his thinking. "After seven years studying, researching and protecting nature as a wildlife conservationist, I stopped fieldwork and deferred an MSC in order to rebel full-time. Because no matter how many surveys I ran, how many turtle nests I protected, or how many young people I educated about ‘sustainability’, the seas kept rising, forests kept burning, plastic kept clogging the beaches, and our data kept showing that wildlife was being decimated."

His mother, Liz tweeted that he died 'doing what he loved', and that he had become an active member of Extinction Rebellion in the last few years of his life, and had earned the nickname 'Iggy Fox'. She wrote: "Rest in peace my beloved son Raphael Coleman, aka Iggy Fox. "He died doing what he loved, working for the noblest cause of all. His family could not be prouder. "Let's celebrate all he achieved in his short life and cherish his legacy."

      Our cat (Edited)

It is 5 months today since Tilda disappeared from our garden in Wandsworth London, SW18. She is only a year old and her life was just beginning. She was such a homebody and never ventured far. She is microchipped and neutered. Tilda is a black and grey tabby with a thin, almost Siamese looking face. She looks like a young cat and has a distinctive ‘O’ and ‘T’ shape in the tabby markings on her sides. She is so loved and missed and has a sister who is lost without her. Our children have been very upset to lose her and my three year old keeps asking when she’ll come back from her ‘holiday’. If you think you may have seen her please, please get in touch. We are also exploring the possibility that she may have travelled out of the area in a Luton van that was parked outside on the day she went missing. If that’s the case she could literally be anywhere. Please help. Thank you Rebecca

Still time to both vote tactically AND get a vote swap to get the Tories out. Use Swap my vote :)

If you're voting tactically (ie. not for your first choice but for the candidate best placed to beat the Tories), then why not amplify your vote by swapping with someone who will vote for your preference in a seat where it'll make more of a difference. For example, if you're a lib dem voting tactically in Battersea for Labour, try and find a lab voter in a Con/Lib fight like Richmond Park, Lewes or St Ives. It's almost a 2 for 1 remain deal, do it! https://www.swapmyvote.uk/
