People who live and work in Wandsworth urged to sign up for climate change festival! The Wandsworth Together on Climate Change Festival starts on November 8, and people interested in taking part can now view a programme of events and book their place. The ambitious week-long festival from November 8-13 coincides with the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow and has been organised by Wandsworth Council as part of its pledge to tackle climate change. It aims to bring together a wide range of local individuals and organisations to raise awareness of climate change issues and discuss what everyone can do to reduce emissions. It will have in-person and online sessions including information on energy efficiency, cycling, plogging, home composting, cutting back on single-use plastics, biodiversity, active travel, upcycling, air pollution, electric vehicles and the circular economy. There will also be dedicated events for young people and businesses. Some sessions will be run by the council and others by local groups, businesses and other organisations and will include discussions and practical advice. The final event on November 13 will be hosted by the Battersea Arts Centre and will include a main stage for talks and discussions, plus stalls highlighting different aspects of the climate emergency and what is being done in Wandsworth to tackle it. You can book your place via council page : https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/news/campaigns/climate-change/together-on-climate-change-festival/together-on-climate-change-festival-events/
