Lily’s Kitchen is recalling a batch of its Fishy Fish Pie and a batch of Chicken and Turkey Casserole because they may contain pieces of plastic. The possible presence of plastic makes the products unsafe to eat for your pets and presents a potential choking hazard.

Restraining dogs in car
Dog owners have been warned that they could be fined up to £5,000 for breaking little known driving rules.
Over a third of British drivers who own dogs are unaware of the Highway Code stipulation, a survey has found.
According to Rule 57, drivers must make sure that their pooch is restrained in a vehicle using a harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard.
This is so that they cannot distract someone when driving or injure the driver, or themselves, in the event of a sudden stop.
The rule states: 'When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly.'
If a motorist causes an accident because they are distracted by their dog, they could face being slapped with an eye-watering £5,000 fine for the careless driving. -

10 THINGS YOUR DOG WOULD TELL YOU...
1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful: remember that before you get me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me - it is crucial to my well being.
4. Do not be angry at me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment.
5. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I only have you.
6. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me.
7. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget.
8. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you.
9. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I might not be getting the right food, or I have been out too long, or my heart is getting too old and weak.
10. Take care of me when I get old; you too will grow old. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: “I cannot bear to watch” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there, even my death.

There are quite a few posts on local Facebook about a virus currently affecting dogs, not confined to just this area. Over the weekend about ten posts of dogs having to be rushed to vets for acute sickness and diarrhoea with some being kept in on drips. Also Crystal Palace Facebook posts. Advice is stay away from parks, etc. and be aware.
