Not being high finance-savvy, I thought one could give £3,000 pa to each person, just read that's the total between all. It has to come from earned income and not from savings - though I don't know how they could know the difference? I've always understood that potatoes should be kept in a cool dark place, but not in the fridge. I only buy the small bags of baby/salad potatoes and always put them in a brown paper bag in the cupboard. Latest bag from the Co-op states ' Store in the fridge at 2-5c. to keep fresh for weeks longer'. I'm confused. -

Every so often, desktop states you are not connected to internet and Troubleshoot says could be Ethernet cable. Has happened several times over the last few months but have jiggled around with the cables at the back of the desktop and switched off and it has been OK. To cut a long boring story short, I bought an Ethernet cable for the next time it happened, which it did yesterday. This time just wouldn't work so this morning I decided to instal the new cable. Firstly, none of the slots behind were the same size as the cables currently connected, then finally found a slot that fitted the new cable, plugged the other end into the router and it seems to be working. (Albeit that I have to make sure the door doesn't shut and slice the cable, as the router is in the hall). Question is - assuming this continues to work - there has obviously not been an Ethernet cable connected before so why should it suddenly require one after 3/4 years? I am totally not computer savvy and these 'little' computer problems literally take me hours to work and carry out. Apologies. -

Just had my desktop out of action for a day - 'not connected to internet' - tried every plug and still didn't work, unplugged, etc. Kept mentioning Ethernet (?) cable, knew I had a box of computer cables then remembered I'd given them all away as would never use ..... Same again this morning and then - miracle! This is the second time it has happened, connection doesn't seem that good, so ordering another cable from Amazon this morning. Before I do, are they all the same, just varying in length, please? -

I have a very heavy collection tomorrow, time stated for collection is 12 am - 11.59 pm. Am I correct in thinking this is 12-midday to 12-midnight? I'm getting conflicted opinions, I've Googled and it seems they are confused too. If 12 am is early morning, it could be a 24-hour wait for collection. It's via Amazon but not Amazon so different set-up. Not looking forward to it one bit. -

Hillbilly Moms Letter Dear Son, I'm writing this slow 'cause I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left. Your dad read in the paper that most accidents happen within twenty miles of home, so we moved. Won't be able to send you the address as the last Arkansas family that lived here took the numbers with them for their house, so they wouldn't have to change their address. This place has a washing machine. The first day I put four shirts in it, pulled the chain and haven't seen 'em since. It only rained twice this week, three days the first time and four days the second time. The coat you wanted me to send to you, Aunt Sue said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with them heavy buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got a bill from the funeral home, and it said if we didn't make the final payment on Grandma's funeral bill, up she comes. About your sister, she had a baby this morning. I haven't found out whether if it is a boy or girls so dont know if you are an Aunt or Uncle??? Your Uncle John fell in the whiskey vat. Some men tried to get him out, but he fought them off playfully, so he drowned. We cremated him and he burned for three days. Three of your friends went off the bridge in a pickup. One was driving and the other two were in the back. The driver got out. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. The other 2 drowned. They couldn't get the tailgate down. Not much more news this time. Nothing much happened. If you don't get this letter, please let me know and I will send another one. Love, Mom
