Trump reaction to question from arab journalist
When Donald Trump was asked a question from a journalist with a strong middle eastern accent, he avoided answering by saying "I can't understand a word you said, but you have a nice voice, where is your accent from" When she told him, he blanked her and asked for the next question.
What do you all think? Racist Trump? -
Starmer. The voice coach and lockdown
PMQ today should be interesting if Starmer is asked about his voice coach attending on xmas eve 2020 to give him a lesson by travelling from a tier 3 area into a tier 4 area.
Is a voice coach an essential worker?
Did it break lockdown rules?
More importantly...did he get a refund as his voice drones like a dalek! -

"US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Palestinians would "love" to leave their embattled homeland in Gaza and live elsewhere if given an option.
They would "love to leave Gaza," he told reporters as he signed a raft of initiatives at the White House. "I would think that they would be thrilled."
"I don't know how they could want to stay. It's a demolition site," he said, more than 15 months after US ally Israel launched a punishing invasion of the territory in retaliation for attacks launched by Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Trump spoke as he was due to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to discuss the truce with Hamas. He is likely to urge his ally to stick to the deal, parts of which have yet to be finalized.
Trump has previously touted a plan to "clean out" Gaza, calling for Palestinians to move to Egypt or Jordan."

Lucy Letby application received by Criminal Cases Review Commission
The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) has received an application on behalf of Lucy Letby, the former nurse convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven others.
She is serving 15 whole-life prison terms.
The CCRC investigates criminal cases where people believe they have been wrongly convicted or wrongly sentenced and can send cases back to the courts.
Ms Letby is represented by barrister Mark McDonald in her application to the CCRC. He says Ms Letby was wrongly convicted.
Ms Letby’s convictions followed a long-running, complex police investigation lasting several years and subsequent trials totalling almost ten months.
A CCRC spokesperson said: “We are aware that there has been a great deal of speculation and commentary surrounding Lucy Letby’s case, much of it from parties with only a partial view of the evidence. We ask that everyone remembers the families affected by events at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.
“We have received a preliminary application in relation to Ms Letby’s case, and work has begun to assess the application. We anticipate further submissions being made to us.
“It is not for the CCRC to determine innocence or guilt in a case, that’s a matter for the courts.
“It is for the CCRC to find, investigate and if appropriate, refer potential miscarriages of justice to the appellate courts when new evidence or new argument means there is a real possibility that a conviction will not be upheld, or a sentence reduced.

Jack rankin mp for windsors statement regarding Heathrow Expansion
💬 My statement on the Chancellor's Heathrow announcement today 👇
Many across the beautiful towns and villages that make up the Windsor constituency will share my deep disappointment and grave concern at the Chancellor’s announcement today that this Labour government will recklessly plough on with the third runway at Heathrow.
Having produced a budget which failed miserably on every level to generate growth, Rachel Reeves has hit the panic button, setting in motion a devastating blight on so many communities. Heathrow expansion is a highly complex issue, which Labour conveniently omitted from their manifesto. This evidences the Chancellor's desperation to cover up the damage her jobs tax and inflation-busting public sector pay rises are doing to Britain’s economic growth.
I have long campaigned against the third runway, which I view as a sticking plaster solution to the long-running issue of airport capacity. This is not a simple question of expansion like at Gatwick or Luton. It will inevitably cause extensive disruption to my constituents who use the M25 and M4 for daily commuting, which will likely have to be re-routed. An estimated 750 houses will be destroyed along with the Lakeside Energy from Waste power plant. This is not to mention major disruption to the surrounding villages, including Horton, Datchet, Old Windsor, Colnbrook and Poyle that I proudly represent.
Heathrow are yet to apply for expansion. The Chancellor announced that they will come forward with plans in the summer. As part of this process, I will engage actively with groups like the No to Third Runway campaign, and do everything I can to stand up for my constituents’ interests, ensuring their voices are heard. -

Does the number of servings on the pack match how many you get?
I decided to find out by having porage every day for breakfast until the box was finished. On the box of Quaker oats it says there are 25 servings. I actually got 15 breakfasts out of the box. So the answer is no.

"Elon Musk, who is heading US President Donald Trump's efforts to shrink the federal government has said there is work ongoing to shut down the US foreign aid agency, USAID.
"It's beyond repair," Mr Musk said, adding that President Trump agrees it should be shut down.
Yesterday, REUTERS reported the Trump administration removed two top security officials at USAID during the weekend after they tried to stop representatives from Mr Musk's department from gaining access to restricted parts of the building, three sources said.
In fiscal year 2023, the US disbursed $72 billion of assistance worldwide on everything from women's health in conflict zones to access to clean water, HIV/AIDS treatments, energy security and anti-corruption work. It provided 42% of all humanitarian aid tracked by the United Nations in 2024.
Field hospitals in Thai refugee camps, landmine clearance in war zones, and drugs to treat millions suffering from diseases such as HIV are among the programmes at risk of elimination.
Speaking more broadly about cutting US expenses and fraud, Mr Musk estimated the Trump administration can cut $1 trillion from the US deficit next year.
He asserted, for example, that "professional foreign fraud rings" are stealing money vast sums by masquerading as or creating fake digital US citizens.
Mr Musk did not offer any evidence to support his fraud claim or explain how he reached the amount of $1 trillion."

The piece from the telegraph is a warning for the gov. For me, this shows how damaging things are right now
Rachel Reeves’s “Budget for Growth” was followed by the largest spike in businesses closing down since lockdown, analysis by The Telegraph has found.
Some 4,500 companies shut down from October to December 2024, marking the biggest quarterly increase in closures since the period of Covid-19 lockdowns.
The third quarter of 2024/25 has now become the worst month of voluntary liquidations in the UK since the fourth quarter of 2020/21, when 5,133 businesses had to shut their doors.
Business groups said the findings were “not a surprise” and accused the Chancellor of creating a “hostile environment for businesses” by raising employers’ national insurance contributions in October’s Budget.
The tax rise formed the centrepiece of Ms Reeves’s “Budget for Growth” but business chiefs warned that it will force them into making redundancies. -
