Imogen Heap Grammy Award winner owner of the Grade2 listed Roundhouse in Broxhill Road has submitted plans to Havering Council for extensive essential remedial work to be carried out. The building was built in the late 18th century and is a well known landmark in the area which can be seen from many parts of northern Havering. Ms Heap had a recording studio constructed in the basement and Taylor Swift visited the house in 2014. I pass the house most days as it’s very near to where I live and have seen the owner on numerous occasions . -

This morning from Steve Tuckwell, Tory MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. This is a first as far as I know. Reverse campaigning. The letter doesn’t say anywhere that it’s from a TORY MP. We said NO to ULEZ, but Sadiq Khan ignored us. It's time to send him a message he can't ignore. Eight years ago, Sadiq Khan promised to listen to Londoners and focus on our priorities. Eight years later, it's clear he hasn't kept that promise. Instead of recruiting the police officers that London needs, the mayor shut 36 police stations. Even though thousands of Londoners backed campaigns to keep the stations open. Instead of building the family homes that Londoners need, the mayor keeps building high-rise tower blocks. Even though thousands of families are struggling to find homes they can afford. And instead of lowering the cost of living for families and businesses, the mayor expanded ULEZ to every part of London. Even though thousands of Londoners came out against it. I Sadiq Khan wins the mayoral election easily, he'll use it as proof that Londoners back his ULEZ extension. That's why I'm asking you to use your postal vote to send Sadia Khan a message. You've seen the polls. You've heard the commentators. The mayor thinks he's going to win this election easily, That means we have the chance to make a difference. Because if Sadiq wins by a smaller margin than he's expecting, he'll be forced to sit up and listen to us. We can go even further now - if we keep the pressure on Sadiq Khan. It all comes down to your postal vote. If enough Londoners use their postal votes for someone else, Sadiq Khan will HAVE to listen to us. And that means progress for our priorities. We can save local police stations. We can build the family homes that Londoners need. And we can scrap the ULEZ extension. So don't let Sadiq Khan take your vote for granted and ignore you for another four years. Use your postal vote for someone else, and let's make the mayor sit up and listen. Yours, Steve Tuckwell MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip -

Does anybody ever negotiate existing deal broadband prices. I’ve just come off the phone to a very good friend who lives in Buckhurst Hill. She’s with Virgin and was paying £86/month for broadband, TV and telephone. She phoned Virgin complaining about the impending price increase threatening to leave. The call handler asked her if she’d like to hold on if they could find a better deal for her. Result? Virgin have doubled her download speed, signed her up to Mega TV? and kept her phone deal of call anyone anytime free. Price? £62/month a reduction of £24/month. It obviously pays to complain. -

It’s been revealed that a fire that gutted the ground floor and damaged the roof of a house in Harold Hill on April 4th was caused by a faulty lithium battery in a converted e-bike. The fire started in the early hours of the morning whilst the householders were sleeping During my career with the LFB as firefighter and station officer, I attended scores of fires caused by faulty lithium batteries or people using the wrong chargers. Avoiding physical damage to lithium batteries is of paramount importance. Once ignited, they are almost impossible to extinguish by the householder. The answer if possible, is to charge e-bikes etc in an out building. If this isn’t possible, do not charge lithium batteries overnight. Share this important information with friends and family. -

Does anyone have a singer/s in the family? My late wife had the sweetest singing voice. Her rendition of Wind Beneath My Wings and The Rose, two of her all time favourites. Sung by her many times over the years at family special occasions and once in Marseilles to an audience in a wine bar. My only regret? Not having a recording of her singing voice.
