Imogen Heap Grammy Award winner owner of the Grade2 listed Roundhouse in Broxhill Road has submitted plans to Havering Council for extensive essential remedial work to be carried out. The building was built in the late 18th century and is a well known landmark in the area which can be seen from many parts of northern Havering. Ms Heap had a recording studio constructed in the basement and Taylor Swift visited the house in 2014.
I pass the house most days as it’s very near to where I live and have seen the owner on numerous occasions . -

Does anybody ever negotiate existing deal broadband prices. I’ve just come off the phone to a very good friend who lives in Buckhurst Hill. She’s with Virgin and was paying £86/month for broadband, TV and telephone. She phoned Virgin complaining about the impending price increase threatening to leave. The call handler asked her if she’d like to hold on if they could find a better deal for her.
Result? Virgin have doubled her download speed, signed her up to Mega TV? and kept her phone deal of call anyone anytime free. Price? £62/month a reduction of £24/month. It obviously pays to complain. -
It’s been revealed that a fire that gutted the ground floor and damaged the roof of a house in Harold Hill on April 4th was caused by a faulty lithium battery in a converted e-bike. The fire started in the early hours of the morning whilst the householders were sleeping During my career with the LFB as firefighter and station officer, I attended scores of fires caused by faulty lithium batteries or people using the wrong chargers. Avoiding physical damage to lithium batteries is of paramount importance. Once ignited, they are almost impossible to extinguish by the householder.
The answer if possible, is to charge e-bikes etc in an out building. If this isn’t possible, do not charge lithium batteries overnight.
