Reminder - Google will no longer collect emails from other accounts
'Starting in January 2026, Google is removing the "Check mail from other accounts" (POP3) feature and Gmailify, meaning Gmail will no longer fetch emails from external accounts. This change does not stop you from automatically forwarding incoming Gmail messages to another account, but it stops Gmail from collecting mail from other providers.'
I see members are still having trouble viewing TikTok videos. Here is the Carnivaliditalia one:

Depending on how you use Scooploop/who you have blocked, you may not have noticed, that, thankfully, several members are no longer around/have been removed or suspended. Scooploop is monitored intermittently, so keep to the rules, or you may join them.
You may have noticed that some members are no longer posting, this may be due to them being logged in as another member, and unable to log out. They are therefore unable to log in with their real name.
Having trouble seeing the video link someone has posted?
You can always post the link in this loop, or in the Workshop, and I'll provide a link that you can view.
Your Scooploop password (Edited)
Be sure to have a note of your Scooploop password, as it is currently not possible to reset (Forgot password)your password, or to rejoin. If you do not know your password, you can change it below, at your own risk:

If you do not delete any alias accounts you have, you will be in danger of having your main account deleted.
Current state of Scooploop website (Edited)
Caused by the activities of Peter Andrews and his racist gang, Scooploop has been partially deactivated. They are currently not accepting new members, and it is not possible to log out.
I have just been contacted by Scooploop, and both of these matters will be dealt with very soon. Accounts will be deleted and loops moderated.
I can see that there are currently very few active members (nothing to do with xmas), and even previously frequent posters have disappeared, or seldom appear. Obviously, some members may have passed away, but if you are still here, please break your silence and let us know why you have stopped posting or commenting.
Lack of use will influence the future of Scooploop.

Scooploop problems - PMs not working - missing notifications
Some members PMs have not been working for a long time. If you want to overcome this, you can try creating another account with PM in the account name, which you may have to shorten.
There is nothing you can do about missing notifications.

I don't know why it's happening but my FB feed is full of posts from a group I've never even looked at, it's driving me mad because 1 in every 3 posts is from that group. I've clicked on the 3 dots and told it to hide the posts but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Is it happening to anyone else and is there a solution?

Does anyone have a particular recommendation? I normally dream up my own passwords, which I keep in a locked Word doc (not named 'Passwords'!) but had an alarm the other night when I got a pop-up on a Safari page saying my Mac had been hacked – I swiftly crashed it then created a new password to get into it. Today I've been told by a knowledgeable friend that didn't necessarily mean it really had been hacked, but I'm wondering if a password manager might be a good idea - though Intego should warn me of any intrusion and did, if indeed it was hacked. I don't know what a warning from Intego would look like, as opposed to the pop-ups my friend referred to. (Does any of that make sense? I've been fretting over this for some while this afternoon and am losing it altogether, I think!) Anyway, Roboform, Nordpass and 1Password seem to be well-recommended password managers.
Bluetooth speakers for PC (Edited)
I have to replace the wired speakers on my PC as they are playing up badly (sound keeps going up and down). I've connected a small bluetooth speaker that I use with my phone for playing music but each time I go to use it with the PC I have to reconnect the bluetooth setting. So I'm thinking of trying better quality bluetooth speakers and I was wondering if anyone uses bluetooth speakers with their PC and doesn't have to constantly reset the bluetooth connection each time it's being used.
Strange message on TV screen (Edited)
This morning watching news on the TV a box appeared saying something like "Terence's ipad wishes to voice share with your TV" with options to accept, decline or block. As i moved the curdor downtowards decline the message disappeared. Anyone seen this sort of thing before?
Scooploop was down this morning due to its certificate expiring. This has now been renewed for only three months, which does not look good. So if there are members you want to keep in contact with, if you haven't already done so after a previous outage, now would be a good time.
How can I prevent my mobile phone being stolen?
Advice from the Police:
'It is much easier to steal a mobile phone when it is in use or on display. When you are using your mobile phone in a public place try and be aware of your surroundings and anyone that is perhaps stood close to you. In order to help prevent theft of your mobile phone keep it in a secure place on your person or in your bag.
You should keep your contract or mobile phone box with the IMEI/serial number on it, in a safe place as the police will need to see evidence that you owned the phone, in the event that it is stolen. The contract or box are the only means of evidence the police will accept. A recent bill or delivery note will not be sufficient.
The IMEI/serial number on your phone is a number that is unique to your mobile phone. To find out what your IMEI number is type *#06# into your phone.
You can also protectively mark your mobile phone.'
I have been asked about hidden loops, these are called 'private' loops which are invisible to non-members. You cannot join these loops, you have to be invited. There are 'closed' loops, which are visible, but the contents are visible only to members, and you have to apply to join. These loops have many real members (not advertisers), so much of the activity on Scooploop is unseen by non-members.

Racists/abusive posts/comments
I am being asked what can be done about the racist and abusive posts. With the absence of @CliveF and Scooploop moderators, the only thing that can be done is when you are the originator of a post is to block those members to prevent them making use of your post.
I am no longer in contact with a member(s) of Scooploop. One of the last things they were working on was the Politics loops whose owners were no longer around. One recently reappeared, but then disappeared again! I don't know how far they got before they (the staff) disappeared again.
One iPhone led police to gang suspected of sending up to 40,000 stolen UK phones to China
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20vlpwrzwdo
I am aware of the racist posts in Anything, and now disgusting comments are being made. This is all down to the absence of moderation by the moderator, who may no longer be with us. If you are in touch with @CliveF please inform him of what is happening. The future of Scooploop is uncertain at the moment, and this will not help.
To those of you who think that your identity cannot be traced, you have no idea of the information that can be used to identify you. A VPN will not help you, there are other ways. This happened in the infamous Kahuti, and the culprit was traced.
If Clive is no longer around, or fails to take action, then you can do your part by not engaging with these members and leave them to talk to themselves.
Scooploop's current state* (Edited)
The owner of Scooploop is no longer contactable, and the promised updates did not appear. Many members have given up posting/commenting/reacting. Scooploop is now basically only about a dozen active members. Also many loops are no longer or little used, and a major problem on the site is a lack of moderation. It is a wonder that Scooploop is still going. You should not be surprised if Scooploop disappears.
*Even if Scooploop's forum website disappears, that is not necessarily the end of Scooploop Ltd, as its registered business is 'Software development', not a social forum.

Constant "Internal Server error"! (Edited)

Have no mobile phone signal and no broadband due to a power-cut?
Unless you have a backup power supply, or a satellite phone, then at the moment you would be unable to make a phone call*. This may change next year when you will be able to use an ordinary smartphone to make calls via satellite. This is called D2D (Direct to device).
*If you still have an analogue landline plugged into a BT socket, then you will still be able to make a phone call.
Didn`t used to have a problem but recently I can`t view when post on SL.
The link works and I briefly see the video is there but it`s interupted by a pop-up(clearly Tik-Tok produced not an advert) obscuring the video & asking my interests. Play along and you just get to the next page of the pop-up asking you to sign up or login. No way I can see to get past it.Any ideas?

YouTube/Facebook/Links problems (Edited)
I can see that various members are having problems with basic web/computer activities. Viewing YouTube videos should present no problems, and they can be viewed without adverts. Facebook links do not require you to be a member of Facebook to view them. Website links should not be the result of a search, they should be the address of what you want to show; you should always click the link and not the image.
If you need help, you can make a post in this loop.
Viewing Facebook links on Scooploop (Edited)
I can see there is some confusion, you do not have to belong to Facebook or sign in to Facebook to see links.
