Have just been reading about people whose number plates have been cloned receiving fines etc. they haven't incurred. What I don't understand is how criminals manage to clone number plates when the DVLA has records - which shouldn't allow this to happen, surely. Is it too difficult to put a block on people duplicating number plates? -

The gym/Spa I am a member of is offering members a body scan for 35.00, followed by advice on a fitness programme. (Open to all, but reduced for members). I am wondering if it is worth it. I use the pool regularly, but would appreciate advice about using the gym( I haven't had the courage to try it yet - I need to know how to stop the machines and get off!!! Has anyone had experience of these body scans? (It measures bone density etc etc) -

Completely non techie here: two queries: 1 the warning just posted mentioned signing in - I seem to be permanently signed in as google drive, photos, search engine, etc all just open when I click on them. Does this count as signed in? 2. Does getting into any one of them save all the others? For instance, although I usually use Duck Duck Go on my phone and tablet, I tend to use Google on my lap top. Thanks in anticipation of explanations. -

At the moment (long moment - will probably be a year!) I need to have my printer on the floor of the dining room. It was a pain to move it to clean the floor. I have now purchased a wooden pot holder from Longacres Garden Centre- about 11.00 (there are different sizes) and placed the printer on it. Works a dream, and the wheels can be locked if necessary. -

My Chelmsford branch is closing. I am told my nearest VM bank will be Northampton from October!!. Apparently, too few people use the banks, most now bank on line. I am closing my tiny account, because I want to have access to face to face when I need it! When I went in to close it - there were two people before me, it wasn't very private, and I could hear that they also were closing their accounts - and I could also hear that they had several thousands! The counter clerk (dropped in by VM to deal with these, apparently) told me that Essex customers were coming in to close their accounts, because even when they did do all their banking on line, they still wanted the option of talking to someone face to face if necessary. I feel that VM may have made a bit of an error. They make a big deal of every closed branch being within half a mile of a Post Office, where you can do day to day VM banking. But that doesn't solve the problem of not having face to face availability if you want to do more than that, and don't want to do that on line. Obviously a lot of people feel the same - and there will be areas like this all over the country - they are closing 39 banks! -

Hope this is the correct loop Husbands phone (Doro) is not receiving messages - or able to send them. To begin with it was the automated ones (one time number from the bank not received, confirmation of appointment from surgery not received, invitation for covid jab not received) but now he can't send or receive from me, either. (What's app all ok). Have checked aeroplane mode is off, and have switched on mobile data as well as internet. Have emptied lots of old messages. Still no joy. What else can I do? Hoping someone can help. -

I had some orange powder stains on my carpet. A friend told me to try strips of selotape on them - whipping them off with pollen attached. Really worked. I don't like snipping the stamens off as it spoils the look of the flowers. She also told me she sprays the stamens with hairspray - I haven't tried that. -

I need a new microwave - (mine conked out last week - starts then stutters to a halt. Have explored the very few "local" repairers - call out charge is 40.00 plus - and it must be 15 years old, at least). I need one that does at least what ours did - defrost and autocook programmes But thinking of taking the opportunity to get a combination one and save energy. Has anyone any experience of these? Am going to Curry's later today to have a look - I don't want an on-line purchase. Also possibly John Lewis, as usually the guarantee is longer, and there's never any trouble if there's a problem. Curry's aren't always straightforward. -

I am attempting to apply for a Blue Badge from Essex, as my husband is now not able to walk very far, and I am the driver, now. However, for the forms that I want to download and use (and even to use online), I am expected to register and subscribe with pdffiller for an upfront fee - in dollars - for a 30 day trial (I then can cancel). This can't be correct - the dollar thing is a clue!!! I have tried several ways in, but this comes up every time for Essex. I have emailed the Blue Badge department but the automatic reply indicates that there may not be a reply for some time! There is no telephone number I can use; the office is in Colchester, and not Chelmsford, so I can hardly call in!! Any thoughts? -

But didn't deal with it and lost interest. Very lively rat ran into lounge and is under settee. I went to the shed at the bottom of the garden (with torch) to get rat poison. Put two small trays of "humane" poison pellets down. Closed door and put label on in case I forget. The instructions are to keep replacing eaten food until not eaten - and will probably work within 48 hours. However, I infer from the instructions that this is for an infestation -and this is for a single rat (I hope). So am hoping it will die quite quickly, then I can dispose of it safely. Don't know what else I could have done. Any advice? Haven't got a humane rat trap - only for mice. Have never seen a humane rat trap. We have rats at the bottom of our very long garden but there is a turkey farm a short field away, and a horse and stable 3 houses away - so no hope of eliminating them. -

Don't know if anyone can help. No Scooploop messages have been coming through by email for a couple of days. I sent a message through to the scooploop technical group but have had no reply. Basically, I get a morning email of information of messages received, but I am used to getting individual emails throughout the day. I have tried the website, but that's not the same as having regular emails on "hot topics" Not sure what I have done.
