Found this on YouTube and had to share. Blown away by the way Ryan changed from
A shy young man to a confident and professional singer. He starts singing about half way through the video but it’s worth watching all of it

Celebrating Elvis on the Anniversary of his death

"During the sound checks in Bradford, Helen was introduced to the Beatles' bass player, Paul. 'I made some comment about liking "Love Me Do" and he introduced me to the rest of the guys who were really happy because this was their first major concert tour. They'd performed in clubsand ballrooms in Hamburg and Liverpool but never done anything like the pop package and were eager to be onstage." At this point, one of them mentioned that they had written a song called 'Misery' for Helen, but it had been turned down on her behalf by Norrie Paramor. Helen apologised, saying she hadn't known about it. (...) Her management encouraged Helen to travel by herself in a special limousine, to reflect her star status, but she preferred sitting in the coach with the supporting acts. 'I wouldn't have missed it for the world, especially while the Beatles were with us.' Together on the coach, the Beatles would bring out their guitars, and Helen would sing a song like 'The Locomotion.' She remembered how Paul would practise writing his autograph over and over again, and then ask her what she thought of it. On one of these coach rides John and Paul hit upon the idea of running up to the microphone together and singing 'Whoooo!', a routine that within a matter of weeks would be setting off explosions of ecstasy among their fans. One night Helen let the Beatles into her changing room so they could watch themselves on television for the first time. John was surprised by the way he looked, particularly the odd, jockey-like stance he adopted onstage. They kept nudging one another and commenting. 'Eh, look at that.' 'You look awful.'"
"'One day, reading a music paper on the tour coach, she saw the headline "Is Helen Shapiro a "Has-Been" at 16?" 'I felt just as if somebody had punched me in the stomach." In the seat behind her, John, six years her senior, noticed that she was upset. They had always had a good relationship: like many girls her age, she had a crush on him. He in turn was uncharacteristically protective of her, treating her, in Helen's words, 'like some kind of kid sister.' 'What’s up, Helly?' She showed him the offending headline. John sought to reassure her. 'You don't want to be bothered with that rubbish. You are all right. You will be going on for years.'"

Who’d have thought ‘as said in the comments’ a rock icon and a blue grass goddess would work so well together’
It’s magic!

Went to see this 70s reggae band tonight at the Forge Camden Town. Does anyone remember them? Noticed a lot of aging mods and skinheads in the audience. I remember the uniform😉
Rest in Peace, he was a wonderful singer and his music will live with us forever.

Maybe not the right Group for this but chose it anyway
Has anyone been to see the stage version of Titanic the Musical. I was taken last Wednesday to the afternoon showing, it was amazing and I highly recommend it if you get a chance. That is surely heading for Broadway.
Amazing to think that Frankie Valli has been recording since 1953. He later "Italianised" his professional surname to Valli.
Known mainly for their dance tunes such as Celebration, Get down on it etc but I love this very cool and relaxing piece.. It’s used a lot in theme and background music and at nearly 50 years old it’s somewhat before it’s time.

Without YouTubing it, who was Oscar and who wrote the lyrics?
They were both known by more well known names later in life.

In the past, somewhat controversial and he certainly makes a statement with this new song
I would have been very proud of this collage if it was one of my drawings. I don't have a full list of who is featured - so who do you recognise among the various artists featured?
I went to see her live at Hampton Court Palace on Monday evening. Still got it at 79! She sang the favourites as well as a beautiful rendition of “ I can’t make you love me” Billed as her farewell tour but I hope it isn’t. What’s your favourite Gladys Knight song? Hard to choose but I think mine has to be “ Midnight train to Georgia”
George Maharis aged 95 - remember mainly from Route 66 - he also did some studio recordings in the 1960s.

Something I've never seen before - photo showing Ritche Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper together.
Sammy Davis, Robert Mitchum, Dean Martin, James Garner and PaulNewman tinkling the ivories.
Nile Rogers and Chic, known for their disco music but this track is really smooth and shows his beautiful guitar playing. What do you think?

I was so sad to find out that Freya Ridings was unable to take her place on the stage at the Coronation concert tonight after becoming unwell. This I felt , would have been such a great honour for her and it must be so very upsetting for her not to be there .
