Into the wild festival - an hour from London in Sussex - 23-26 August - looks amazing for kids!
Hello everyone,
I’m helping promote this great little child-oriented festival on the August bank holiday called Into the Wild, and you lucky people can get 20% OFF with this discount code GUYDSUM19.
This is our first time taking the kids camping to a festival and I have a feeling they will absolutely love this one. If you fancy it and want to join our group, then we can all put our tents in a circle and share the task of minding the kids during the evening entertainment. Have a look at the attached pics, looks great to me. Worth mentioning there are showers too, hurrah! The discount brings the cost of an adult 3 day ticket to £80, exceptional value when you see what's on offer.
Here’s the blurb, there are an amazing range of activities for kids of all ages, incredible speakers and a great sustainable and ethical ethos too.
A sublime weekend in the beautiful Sussex countryside with over 200 workshops, Enchanting music, Award winning kids area, World class storytellers, Spoken word, Theatre, Delicious world cuisine, Swedish hot tubs & Saunas, Den Making, Fire Making, Arts, Open Mic, Choirs, Yoga, Dance, Movement, Foraging, Archery, Martial Arts, Wild crafts, Forest Bathing, Wild Olympics, Blacksmiths, Bushcrafts, Falconry, Fencing, Swing boats, Stargazing, Healing & Well-being therapies and so much more...

We have a Dutch visitor later in the week. It’s his first time in England and he wants to try fish and chips. Any recommendations for cafes/restaurants that serve them please?
Does anyone have recommendations for a pest control service to treat a flat in South Kensington?
Thanks.
Well, not real blood but are there any plans in the pipeline for any new campaigns to get more members?

Come to Into the Wild Festival in Chiddinglye, Sussex August 23-26 - amazing for kids of all ages
Just wanted to let you all know about this brilliant festival called Into the wild that’s happening in Chiddinglye, Sussex on the August bank holiday 23-26 August.
This is our first time at a festival, and indeed our first time camping, with the kids, but it does look like a wonderful environment for them, with loads of interesting outdoorsy activities, and I’m sure they are going to love it. Capacity is about 5k, so it won’t be too huge or overwhelming.
We hope to get a few friends with families to join us at the festival and that way we can put all our tents in a circle and perhaps share childminding duties between us, to allow us to take turns to enjoy the evening’s entertainment. If you like the sound of the festival and are up for that, please give me a shout, include a mobile number and I’ll give you a call.
Here’s how it’s described on the FB page and please check out the links below for more info.
Come along to Into the Wild's amazing summer festival! Probably one of the best festival experiences in the UK.
With sublime world music, over 100 workshops, talks, woodland theatre, choirs, cinema, delicious street food stalls, survival skills, archery, fire making, fascinating talks, yoga, foraging, drumming, storytelling, dancing, award winning kids area, dance, spoken word, wild games and so much more.
Step out into beautiful nature and learn new skills, eat delicious food, meet new like-minded friends and embrace a new kind of festival!
All workshops, camping and music included. Just an hour from London, in amongst the beautiful meadows and enchanted forests of Sussex.

Apple is recalling 2015-2017 MacBooks Pro for fear of battery fire.
Ha! First I'm told to pay Apple an arm and a leg to get my swollen MacBook Pro battery replaced and now they have decided to recall them. Of course no refunds for the battery fixed earlier...

Hi, I've got a friend coming to stay tomorrow/Sunday. We were planning on spending our time outside sight seeing and chilling out in some of the parks, but the weather forecast is looking a bit grim. My friend loves art so I thought I'd pop onto scooploop to ask if anyone knows if there are any events going on either locally or anywhere in London that we can go to. Thanks!

Remainer who voted Labour in Wandsworth? Help demand a Peoples vote motion from Labour councillors!
Do we have any Remainers who voted Labour in Putney, Wandsworth, Battersea or Tooting in GE17 on here who are appalled by the leaderships' dishonest fudge on Brexit and would like to help do something about it at a local level within the borough of Wandsworth?
Local Labour councillors are just as split as the Parliamentary Labour party and there are some lexit cllrs who keep blocking a proper Peoples Vote motion being brought to the Council. I'm planning on bringing a petition to Wandsworth Labour asking the leader, Simon Hogg, to start being honest with their voters and bring an unequivocal PV motion, but I need some help from Labour voters and ideally members too.
If anyone is interested in LOCAL campaigning or advocacy for a PV, and has an interest in local politics, please get in touch. Thanks
PS. I hope this is entirely within the guidelines on posting, given it applies to Wandsworth Labour, Wandsworth Council, and a LOCAL petition.
NB. There are many Lab cllrs who have been fantastic in their support of Labour policy and a PV, these include Cllr Fleur, Graham Henderson, Tony Belton, Claire Gilbert, Sue McInney, Candida Jones, Jeremy Ambache and Hector Denfield. There are others who pretend to be but then vote against it internally, which explains why a proper PV motion hasn't yet been brought. I am on a mission to find out precisely who is blocking this from happening and strongly encouraging them to be honest with their voters about their position. It's not OK for Cllr Hogg to pretend Wandsworth Labour are united in seeking a PV because it's untrue, in fact he himself has been one of the greatest barriers to this motion being brought.
If anyone would like to drop Cllr Hogg a line asking for a Peoples Vote motion, you can do so here Cllr.S.Hogg@wandsworth.gov.uk
Why not copy in the Labour (or Tory for fun) councillors from your own ward too, you can find them all here https://democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/mgMemberIndex.aspx
