Does anyone know where I can buy a bookcase like this, or a company who can make one similar? I stumbled across this picture and I think it would look great in the kids room! Thanks

How to protect your data from Facebook
Wandsworth Guardian have posted a few good tips on how to protect your data on Facebook. Worth having a read if you use Facebook, after the stories popping up in the news over the past week... http://www.wandsworthguardian.co.uk/news/16101534.Here_are_some_simple_ways_you_can_protect_your_data_on_Facebook/

I'm really sad to report that after something like 50 years, this wonderful shop (with the best facilities for copying keys in South London) has closed down. This is a minor tragedy for those living in the neighbourhood. Alas, this is what is now happening to so many really useful small, family run shops these days. They tell me that the internet has been in part responsible for their closing (not that keys can be cut on the internet ha ha).
Does anyone know of an alternative GOOD QUALITY key cutting service anywhere near Clapham Junction? -
hi, tomorrow there's a street party outside our neighbourhood but still worth a visit...I'll be there selling Spanish products

Wandsworth council tax is considerably cheaper than other boroughs across London and throughout the UK and I'm wondering why - I have friends up north who pay nearly triple what I do for the same 'band'. Can anyone shed any light on this matter? How can other councils get away with charging so much more?

Wandsworth council have planted more than 600 trees this winter so far, and plan to plant 1,100 in total. Species that have been planted this winter include London plane, cherry, lime, pear, crab apple, rowan, oak, hazel, whitebeam, maple, hornbeam and birch. I'm really pleased that they've taken the initiative to do this!

Saw 2 Grey Squirels this morning while walking the dog.
Are they a common site in Perth?
Not good at all for the native reds anyway, perhaps the council should be thinking about a cull. -

SW11 is Battersea not Clapham! Too many retail outlets in St Johns Rd, Battersea Rise and Northcote Rd etc think they are in Clapham. This is misleading and doesn't help their trade. Yesterday, I was asked to go to the Space NK shop in Clapham and buy something. I went to Clapham High St, as most would do, wasted 45 minutes looking for them, only to find out later they are in Northcote Rd SW11, Battersea! Needless, to say the purchase I was looking to make was made elsewhere.
The new Pret in St Johns Rd, SW11 are welcoming us to Clapham!

Underneath Clapham South station
Did you know that there are wartime shelters underneath Clapham South station?! I had no idea until my daughter showed me Philip Schofield's 'story' which had some pictures of what it looks like down there. I went to Google and found there are apparently a few in the local area! Clapham Common, Clapham North and Stockwell up the road all have a WW2 bunker. This is a really interesting article about the shelters I found http://www.claphamsociety.com/Articles/article5.html

Dog-Poisoner in Battersea Park
Just received an email to say that a dog has been poisoned in Battersea Park by meat put on the ground by a man of about 4O , who has a pony tail, and is of Mediterrean (sorry, can't spell that) appearance. There is no longer a police station in the park, but do ring the police if you see a man chucking strange-looking meat around.......

Did anyone else explore Lumiere at the weekend? I thought it was as fantastic as ever. I recently posted a request for a company specialising in damp problems and
had estimates from at least 3, but the only one with a realistic quote and
correct evaluation of the problem (which turned out to be wet rot and fungus)
was The London Damp Company at Balham 0207 1276886. Worth noting if
you are unfortunate to have this common London problem -

Do you like walking? TfL has an offer for you.
Hullo everyone
Transport for London's 'Walk London' project will be offering some dozens of free guided walks on 3rd & 4th of February, the beginning of its 11th year. The details won't be on-line for a couple of days but you can ensure of hearing about them by going to this url...
http://www.walklondon.org.uk/
Add an e-mail address in the box at the bottom of the page and they'll send you the details as soon as they're revealed.
One point of advice, if any of the walks particularly attracts you, sign-up immediately as they are very popular. If you're unfortunate you might find me being your walk leader!
All the best - Ian -
