We have been warned, and know the truth. I'm in hiding after a murder attempt. This is the truth about Britain's Sharia law - Nissar Hussain I am a British-born Muslim who has converted to Christianity. According to Islam’s murderous strictures, known as sharia, it is a capital offence. And sharia-adherent Muslims very nearly killed me in my British hometown. This was the culmination of 20 years of Sharia-based terror. My family and I have now lived for 9 years unfree under police protection in an undisclosed location, fearing that every day could be our last. Sleaze, corruption, lies, incompetence, and bad judgement = The Labour Party Another one on the list.... Lord Matthew Doyle, the former communications chief of Sir Keir Starmer, has been suspended from the House of Lords due to his past association with a convicted paedophile. The suspension was announced by the Labour Party, and Lord Doyle has publicly apologized for his past support of Sean Morton, a former Labour councillor convicted of possessing indecent child images. Despite the suspension, Lord Doyle has stated that he will not take the Labour whip and has expressed his commitment to the party and its values. The situation has raised questions about the integrity and judgment of Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party as a whole. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/keir-starmers-ex-spin-chief-suspended-by-labour-after-admitting-he-met-with-convicted-paedophile/ar-AA1W4mcu?ocid=socialshare -

Starmer's Labour is imploding - snap election is now real possibility and Reform are ready. The pressure on Sir Keir Starmer mounts daily. Unsurprisingly Reform boss Nigel Farage is seizing this moment to ready for government, with a shadow team set to be revealed amid warnings a snap election could be in the offing. Even Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey has joined demands for the PM to call an election if he can't get his party's act together. As Sir Keir's chief of staff and press chief exit amid Mandelson gate, the Blairite project seems to be imploding. Reform - despite warnings of 'peak Farage' - has generally seen its poll numbers increase so far this year. Who would have imagined the British people actually wants a party in power which gets serious about illegal immigration, and law and order? Stands back in shock! The one thing Sir Ed and Farage likely agree on is we need an election now. Britain surely cannot endure another three-and-a-half years of this nonsense! Bring on May and bring on a new broom in Number 10! Dead man and party walking. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/other/starmer-s-labour-is-imploding-snap-election-is-now-real-possibility-and-reform-are-ready/ar-AA1W30tG?ocid=socialshare -

You can deny, but you can not hide the truth. What a pathetic bunch of liars. Nick Ferrari was gobsmacked as he listened to Baroness Jacqui Smith attempt to defend Keir Starmer. The prime minister has been under intense pressure since it was revealed that he appointed Lord Peter Mandelson as the UK's ambassador to the US, despite knowing that he maintained a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein after he was convicted of sex offences in 2008. When 10 Downing Street discovered details that showed the extent of their relationship, Starmer sacked Mandelson. The Labour leader claimed Mandelson lied about the extent of their friendship and publicly apologised to Epstein's victims for believing him. On LBC, Ferrari was joined by Smith, who claimed Starmer is "taking responsibility" for the decision. Ferrari could only laugh as he quipped: "Oh for goodness sake, Jacqui." When the Labour minister added that Starmer has accepted that it was the wrong decision and has apologised to Epstein's victims, the presenter said: "That's the best laugh I've had since Michael McIntyre on Saturday. "That is risible nonsense to say that he's taken responsibility." After trying to make excuses for starmer, Ferrari deterred that she was laying the blame on anyone but Starmer, declaring: "It's Peter Mandelson's fault. It's Morgan McSweeney's fault. It's the employment procedures fault. It's nothing to do with the prime minister." His sarcasm continued: "That poor man. How does he get through his life? Everything conspires against him. It's lucky he gets up in the morning, isn't it?" Well said Nick. -

Knifeman 'tried to cut off soldier's head'! A uniformed Army officer who was repeatedly stabbed in the street outside his home told his wife in hospital that his attacker tried to “cut my head off like Lee Rigby”, a court has heard. Lt Col Teeton said he was told by medical staff it was a “miracle” that he survived, having been left with a very large wound to the right side of his neck and further stab wounds to the front and back of his chest, front and back of his abdomen, left side of his lower abdomen, right groin, right upper arm and left thigh. In her victim impact statement, Mrs Teeton said that, when visiting her husband in hospital, he said: “Do the people at work know what he tried to do to me?” She asked him what did he try to do, and he replied: “Cut my head off, like Lee Rigby.” On July 16, he also searched “Woolwich soldier murdered” on the internet, which Ms Morgan said was plainly a reference to the attack on Lee Rigby in 2013. The 25-year-old off-duty soldier was killed in broad daylight by extremists near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, south-east London. Lt Col Mark Teeton said he was “forever in gratitude” to “heroes”, including his wife Eileen, who came to his aid during the attack in Sally Port Gardens, near Brompton Barracks in Chatham, Kent, on July 23 2024. On Monday, he told Maidstone Crown Court of his relief at still being alive as Anthony Esan, his attacker, was set to be sentenced for his attempted murder. -

The problem with multiculturalism....Some do not fully integrate with society, they bring their own grievances and agendas to their host countries. Potentially dangerous especially when they gain positions of authority and influence. A convicted terrorist standing to become a councillor in Birmingham has said that he accepts he is “not everybody’s cup of tea”. Shahid Butt, 60, was jailed in Yemen in 1999 for conspiring to bomb the British consulate, an Anglican church and a Swiss-owned hotel. Prosecutors alleged the plot was part of an attempt to establish an Islamic state in the Middle Eastern country. Mr Butt is now standing in the Sparkhill ward as part of an alliance of pro-Palestine independent candidates across Birmingham. Speaking to BBC Politics Midlands, he insisted: “If they think I’m an extremist, then I can’t change that opinion – at the end of the day, it comes down to the people of Sparkhill.” The independent candidate continued: “As far as the law is concerned, the law doesn’t bar me in the UK from standing as a councillor.” Mr Butt was among 10 people, including eight Britons, convicted in Yemen in 1999 of charges of associating with armed groups, plotting murder and destruction and possessing weapons. He had been a follower of Abu Hamza, the Finsbury Park Mosque hate preacher who would later be sentenced to life in prison by a US court on terror charges, during the 1990s. Following trips to Bosnia and Afghanistan, Mr Butt went to Yemen, where he joined a gang that included Hamza’s son and stepson. After the group was arrested, he was found guilty of being in an armed gang and conspiring to bomb the British consulate in the country, along with an Anglican church and a Swiss-owned hotel. The prosecution alleged that the men were linked to an Islamic militant group that was responsible for kidnapping 16 westerners in 1998. Mr Butt is now representing the Independent Candidates Alliance, which has been set up by activists Akhmed Yakoob and Shakeel Afsar. Both men ran for seats in the second city at the 2024 general election on a pro-Gaza platform. Mr Yakoob received almost 70,000 votes in the 2024 West Midlands mayoral election. In a video announcing his candidacy, Mr Butt said: “With the help of Allah, with your support and with these guys behind me, I know we are going to take this.” Jess Phillips, the Labour MP for Yardley in Birmingham, told ITV News: “The idea that people who have been convicted of terror offences standing to represent part of my family in that area, I find that absolutely appalling.” Labour is braced for another backlash from Muslim voters in May over the party’s stance on Israel, with pro-Gaza independents expected to make gains. Heaven help us. The genie is out of the bottle! -

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl set slammed over language: 'Screaming in Spanish. Megyn Kelly said about Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance, 'I like my half-time shows in English from ppl who love America," "Why is there a guy screaming in Spanish in a field on my TV screen?" "This same guy chants 'ICE OUT' yet sits behind a heavily guarded mansion apparently on stolen land. I don’t turn on football for political rants. I turn it on to watch football." Outkick founder Clay Travis added, "Would any other country in the world have their signature cultural event in a foreign language? I legit have no idea what just happened." Many expressed frustration that they could not understand Bad Bunny's performance. Social media was inundated with complaints about the language barrier at what is traditionally viewed as a purely American event. Some leaned toward alternative programming, such as Turning Point USA's "All-American" halftime show featuring Kid Rock. Visuals incorporated Puerto Rican cultural elements such as jíbaros in traditional straw hats, a casita stage, domino players, and a piragua shaved-ice stand. Dancers climbed power poles that exploded during "El Apagón," referencing the prolonged blackouts after Hurricane Maria in 2017 Imagine at one of our FA Cup Finals, The National anthem sung in Chinese. -

A Typical government whitewash. Home Office 'tried to silence' adviser who raised alarm over growing Islamist threat to Britain. A veteran Government adviser on counter-extremism has accused the Home Office of trying to “silence” him after he criticised ministers’ handling of the growing Islamist threat to Britain. Fiyaz Mughal, founder of Tell Mama, stepped down from his Home Office advisory role at the end of last year, claiming he faced “insidious pressure” to avoid speaking publicly about the threat posed by Islamist ideology. “I actively made the decision to more robustly challenge Islamist extremism and felt it wasn’t possible to continue speaking out about it while working there,” he said. His departure brought to an end more than 20 years advising successive governments on extremism and radicalisation. The row followed an article Mr Mughal wrote for The Telegraph last February, in which he said he was stunned that Islamist extremism was not mentioned during the first 90 minutes of a Home Office summit on tackling radicalisation. Instead, civil servants focused on threats described as having “mixed” or “no clear ideology”, as well as misogyny, the far-right and incel culture - despite intelligence agencies repeatedly identifying Islamist extremism as the UK’s primary terror threat. Mr Mughal believes the current Labour administration has deliberately softened its approach to Islamist extremism for political reasons. “As soon as Labour came in, I recognised a shift. Why has suddenly the focus on Islamism dropped off?” he said. “My perspective is they feel it will cost them politically if they speak about it - they have bought into the ruse that it will cause community divisions. They desperately don’t want to lose the Muslim vote and support.” Those concerns intensified after the last general election, when pro-Palestinian independent candidates overturned several Labour seats. Five Gaza-focused independents defeated Labour incumbents, becoming the sixth-largest grouping in Parliament. The Muslim Vote campaign group later claimed “unprecedented” influence over the outcome. The group said it was formed to mobilise Britain’s 3.9 million Muslims at elections and pressure Sir Keir Starmer to meet its 18 policy demands. -

Doctors benefit from biggest pay rises of all professions. Thanks to Labour and the unions Doctors have benefited from bigger pay rises than all other professions, new figures show. The advertised salary for doctors hit £126,133 at the end of last year, according to data from hiring platform Indeed, marking a 68pc increase since 2016, once inflation is accounted for. This jump is far greater than any other profession. Details of rising pay for physicians and surgeons have emerged as Wes Streeting prepares to offer resident doctors a bigger pay rise than other NHS staff in the hope of ending a long-running dispute. Jack Kennedy, an economist at Indeed, said the sharp rise in doctors’ pay was largely down to inflated NHS pay settlements. Mr Kennedy said: “We have seen a fairly broad uplift in [doctors’] salaries. The pay settlements have contributed to that.” He also pointed to the growing disparity between public and private sector pay since Labour came to power. According to the most recent figures, public sector pay is rising at the fastest pace on record at 7.9pc, while private sector pay growth has fallen to a five-year low of 3.6pc. The finding comes as the Health Secretary is locked in dispute with resident doctors, who are poised to walk out unless he puts more cash on the table. A majority of the public opposes the strikes, according to YouGov polling. Pay for resident doctors has increased by 28.9pc in the last three years. -

More scandal, who would have guessed. Lord who paid for Starmer and Rayner freebies named in Epstein Files Lord Alli made donations to Sir Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner, and he has now appeared in the files linked to the billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. A Labour Lord who gifted Sir Keir Starmer more than £30,000 for designer suits and spectacles has been named in the Epstein files. Waheed Alli, or Lord Alli, was at the centre of one of the first scandals of this Labour Government when it was revealed he was Sir Keir's biggest personal donor. Angela Rayner, then Deputy Prime Minister, was also embroiled in the revelations when she admitted to receiving around £3,550 from Lord Alli for working clothing. Chancellor Rachel Reeves was also implicated in the so-called 'Freebiegate' story when she admitted taking a donation from another Labour supporter, Juliet Rosenfield, which was also used to pay for clothing. The PM, Ms Reeves and Ms Rayner all said they would no longer accept donations to pay for clothes following the backlash in 2024. However, in what looks like another headache for Sir Keir, Lord Alli has now appeared in the Epstein Files linked to the notorious billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Emails unearthed from the millions of files released that Lord Alli appeared on a list of guests due to attend a dinner hosted by Epstein at the Monkey Bar restaurant in New York in February 2010, was also listed as a guest for a large dinner in August 2010. Lord Alli's name and that of Peter Mandelson appear in the email, and Lord Alli also appears in another alleged email from May 2012. In that message, Epstein tells a friend that Mandelson and Lord Alli were staying at Shelter Island in the Hamptons, a region near New York known as a playground for America's elite. In an exchange between Epstein and businesswoman Jennie Enterprise about the Hamptons, she allegedly writes "yes... u close?", to which Epstein replies with a message littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. He replies: "no my fined peter mandel son , former dep prime minister engalnd' gay is with another black gay , walid , currently on shelter island." "Walid" is understood to be a reference to Lord Alli, who, like Mandelson, is gay. Lord Alli owns a property on Shelter Island, which is now for sale. -

Even Morgan McSweeney gone, the only reason Sir Keir Starmer is still clinging to office, by common consent, is that there is nobody else up to the job. Clearly, Starmer isn’t, and therefore there’s only one solution: a general election. How incredible. Only 19 months ago, 404 of these socialist idiots were given power. Most of them weren’t capable of running anything. Lowly trade union officials, clapped-out councillors or the offspring of failed Labour politicians. They scraped in courtesy of the fact that the nation thought they couldn’t be worse than the Tories. They were so wrong. Starmer was a disaster from Day One. Pocketing £30,000 for suits and designer glasses from Labour peer Lord Ali. Starmer had been a human rights lawyer for decades, had a £2million house, his wife worked, and yet he wouldn’t even pay for his own suits. A total fraud. it’s over for him. A matter of time. Either goes after the Gorton and Denton by-election when his decision to make Mandelson US Ambassador will turn a 13,000 majority into third place behind the Greens. Then there’s Wes Streeting. He has two strikes against his name. First of all, he was a Mandelson protégé. Both being gay was probably helpful. He now lets it be known that the recent text between him and Mandelson was not ‘’particularly’’ embarrassing. Perhaps he’d like to define ‘’particularly’’. Or he could clear that up by publishing the WhatsApp between them. Just as damning is the fact that he gave a huge press conference to announce he had single-handedly reduced the NHS waiting list, whereas the reality was that the Government had paid £3million a month to a company to go through the list and take out patients who had either died, moved away or had actually had the op. Ed Miliband is getting a shout. Why? He’s said to be popular at the party but was given the DCM ( Don’t Come Monday) back in 2015. Does the country want ot be run by another loser? One that has already imposed electricity prices four times higher than the US on us. A General Election would be the best answer. And that’s the reason it won’t happen. Labour will take any humiliation as long as they can stay in power. Back benchers make £93,000 a year plus any media money plus bungs from trade unions and the odd commercial company. Therefore, the bad news is we are going to spend the next three years watching unemployment grow (terrible for the 16-24s), growth stutter, the state sector expand while private industry contracts. The only good news is that the Right, in the shape of Reform and the Tories, will continue to dominate the polls, and I guarantee that when election day comes, Reform will emerge as the largest party. Labour will be destroyed. -

Manhunt launched after 'very violent' Channel migrant goes on the run Syrian national Adnani Mohammed was found guilty - in his absence - of two counts of beating at Weathersfield near Braintree. A violent Channel migrant is on the run after attacking two security guards at a former military base. Syrian national Adnani Mohammed was found guilty – in his absence – of two counts of beating at Weathersfield near Braintree a former Essex military base home to about 800 young male asylum seekers. Mohammed, who had been in the country for just four months, drunkenly punched and headbutted staff after demanding to see a doctor. One security guard suffered injuries to his mouth in what was described as a “very violent” attack. A warrant has been issued for Mohammed after he failed to turn up to court for the case against him. Mohammed had already damaged the security office at the base during a separate violent outburst. Witnesses told GB News the asylum seeker had demanded to see a doctor before launching his brutal attack on staff, punching and headbutting officers. One witness said he swiped at an officer, knocking the body-worn camera to the floor. He then headbutted an officer three times and kicked another in the knee. He had not long before the attack on the two guards apparently ransacked the office, damaged, and vandalised the security office, The latest news is sure to be a new blow to the government, which is facing increasing pressure over the number of migrants coming to the UK. That's the thanks we get. -

The problem with multiculturalism....Some do not fully integrate with society, they bring their own grievances and agendas to their host countries. Potentially dangerous especially when they gain positions of authority and influence. A classic example of faith above country. New York City's first Muslim mayor has stirred up a political storm after directly citing Prophet Muhammad's story to justify tougher sanctuary city laws. Speaking to roughly 400 faith leaders gathered across the five boroughs, the 34-year-old mayor didn't hold back. 'I consider my own faith, Islam, a religion built upon a narrative of migration,' Mamdani said. 'The story of the Hijra reminds us that Prophet Muhammad was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina.' Mamdani went further than just telling the story. He quoted from the Quran itself, citing Sura An-Nahl 16:42: 'As for those who emigrated in the cause of Allah we will surely bless them with a good home in this world.' He also referenced a hadith where the Prophet supposedly said: 'Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers.' It's unusual, to say the least, for an American mayor to ground municipal policy in specific religious teachings. Critics immediately pounced, warning that mixing Islamic theology with city law crosses a dangerous line. They argue it risks alienating huge chunks of New York's diverse population and undermines the separation between faith and government. Right after his speech, Mamdani put pen to paper on Executive Order 13. The new rules ban Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from stepping foot on city property. Mamdani's religious framing adds fuel to an already blazing fight with Washington. President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to cut federal money to New York over sanctuary policies. During the mayoral race last year, Trump called Mamdani a '100% Communist Lunatic' Mamdani's clearly drawing a parallel between his faith and modern sanctuary debates. His argument is that welcoming strangers isn't just good politics—it's a moral duty rooted in religious tradition. But opponents see something more troubling: a mayor who's letting his personal faith dictate how he runs America's biggest city. The backlash hasn't just come from the political right either. Some moderates worry that Mamdani's rhetoric, combined with his vocal criticism of Israel during the Gaza conflict, paints him as too ideologically rigid for a job that demands coalition-building. Explicitly tying Islamic teachings to policy gives critics fresh ammunition. What's certain is that the clash between New York's sanctuary stance and federal enforcement is escalating. Mamdani's executive order puts the city on a collision course with an administration that's already threatened retaliation. -

When you are confronted with a good idea use it....American Style ICE Kemi Badenoch sets out Tory plans to deport 150,000 migrants a year with Trump-style immigration crackdown A Removals Force modelled on the ICE agency would be given £1.6 billion and ‘sweeping new powers’ including facial recognition without warning to spot illegal immigrants. Kemi Badenoch plans to create a new “Removals Force” modelled on the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agency aftertaking the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). She pledged to stop “silly arguments” about human rights from stopping her doing the “right thing” Some 34,401 people have crossed the Channel in small boats so far this year, according to PA news agency analysis of Home Office figures, putting 2025 on course to break the record for most arrivals in a single year. Mrs Badenoch said: “We must tackle the scourge of illegal immigration into Britain and secure our borders. Along with the Removals Force, the plan includes a radical overhaul of the asylum system, in which refugee status would be granted only to those threatened by a foreign government. Those fleeing laws on religion or sexuality would not be eligible, with the party saying “few people will qualify”. The plan will also see the immigration tribunal abolished, with all decisions on migration taken by the Home Office with only limited rights of appeal in cases where officials have acted without statutory authority. Immigration cases will be denied legal aid, with the Conservatives accusing solicitors of having “defrauded” the UK by “coaching” applicants, and saying there is “no need for lawyers” as people “should simply tell the truth about their circumstances”. The Tories have said they would look to leave the European Convention on Human Rights if they win the next election, saying the treaty had “frustrated the country’s efforts to secure its borders and deport those with no right to be here”. This is the only way to get real results, a much tougher approach. -

Unbelievable! Where is the justice in this? Left-wing ideology is skewing integrity of legal system - this one case proves it Left-wing politics are eroding the integrity of our legal system. That is the only conclusion that can be drawn from the outrageous acquittals this week in which six protestors from the militant group Palestinian Action were cleared after a raid on a Bristol factory run by the UK subsidiary of the Israeli defence firm Elbit systems. Progressive agitators are fond of trumpeting their attachment to "non-violent direct action", but there was no absence of violence in this attack, which took place in the early hours of August 6, 2024. The court heard that one activist at the wheel of a prison van smashed through the factory's perimeter fence before using the vehicle as a battering ram to enter the building. Armed with sledgehammers, other activists rushed in and began to damage equipment. But they were soon confronted by security guards and the police. According to the prosecution, the protestors went on the offensive with their sledgehammers, as well as whips and foam from fire extinguishers. One police sergeant, Kate Evans, had her back broken by a blow from a sledgehammer. Despite this mayhem, the jury at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday found the six activists not guilty of using or threatening unlawful violence. In addition, the jury failed to reach a verdict on charges of criminal damage or the assault on Sergeant Evans despite deliberating for 36 hours and 34 minutes. A retrial beckons but this week's outcome has been profoundly disturbing. It seems police officers can be left with a fractured spine as long as protesters have the correct political motivation. As the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism asked, "How far does impunity go? Can you paralyze Palestine? Can you kill for Palestine?" -

Another tax grab by labour to shore up their mismanagement Labour slammed for slapping stealth tax on church repairs for first time in 20 years The Government's plan to impose a stealth tax on repairs to England's world-class portfolio of historic churches has been slammed as "completely ignorant". Labour has said churches will have to pay VAT on repairs and maintenance work for the first time in 20 years after axing a grant scheme which was aimed at reducing the financial burden on congregations. Robert Lyman, 63, a historian and church warden for Waltham St Lawrence in Berkshire, warned that the move will force parishioners to abandon repair projects, causing grade-listed churches around the country to "crumble". The Grade-I listed Norman church in his parish needs interior repairs totalling £70,000, and under the upcoming changes, he will have to find an extra £14,000 for the taxman. -

Illegal migrants flock to work as barbers and delivery drivers Illegal migrants are flocking to Britain to work as barbers, delivery drivers and nail technicians, official figures show. More than 1,100 illegal migrants working in warehousing, distribution or delivery services were arrested in 2025, up more than threefold from the previous year. It is understood the numbers are largely driven by people working as motorbike delivery drivers. The beauty industry – which includes barbers, nail bars and tanning salons – also emerged as a hotspot for illegal workers. However, restaurants, takeaways and cafés were the worst offenders for hiring illegal workers. This sector has had the highest number. Workers are usually paid cash-in-hand and employers are often tempted not to put the payments through the books. Cash payments also avoid the need for a bank account, which many illegal migrants do not have. Figures also show illegal workers employed at residential properties and at car washes. The construction industry saw the greatest year-on-year increase in 2025 Mike Tapp, the minister for migration and citizenship, said: “I have seen first-hand how illegal working undercuts honest businesses, damages our high streets and undermines our immigration rules. “That is why we are tracking down and deporting illegal migrants working in the black economy, removing the incentives that draw them to Britain in the first place. Surely it would save a lot more time and money if they were stopped from coming in the first place. -

Even his home secretary agrees that Keir Starmer hasn't a clue. Shabana Mahmood sensationally contradicted Keir Starmer by admitting Brexit is not to blame for the Channel migrant crisis. The Prime Minister in October labelled dinghies "Farage boats" and praised an EU-wide returns scheme. But the Home Secretary dismissed claims Brexit was "responsible for the boats", adding that Brussels had replaced the Dublin Agreement hailed by Sir Keir. Ms Mahmood told the Home Affairs Select Committee: "I would just dispute whether Dublin actually worked as was intended. "The EU have now themselves created a new pact because their own arrangements were not working as intended, so I would think it's a bit of a stretch to - I'm sure there's lots of other debate to be had about the rights and wrongs of Brexit, but is Brexit responsible for the boats? No don't think that's true. The admission will be another blow to Prime Minister Sir Keir, who sought to blame Brexit for the carnage in the Channel. And Ms Mahmood sparked alarm when she repeatedly refused to say if she was confident Channel migrants would fall this year. Some 41,472 migrants crossed the Channel last year, up from 36,566 in 2024. She told the Home Affairs Select Committee: "Those numbers are obviously not where I want to be either. "This is an issue of deep concern in my own constituency and my city as well, so I fully hear what you and your constituents are saying, and it's exactly where I am as well. -

Lies and deception Nothing new from this Labour government Labour massaging NHS performance by paying hospitals £3m a month to delete people from waiting lists Ministers have been ridiculed for paying hospitals £3million a month to delete patients from waiting lists - making it look like the NHS is treating more people than it is. Sir Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting have repeatedly boasted about Labour’s success in cutting the number of patients waiting for treatment since they came to power. But new analysis of NHS figures suggests hundreds of thousands are being deleted from lists without receiving the treatment they were waiting for in a process known as ‘list cleansing’ or ‘validation’. Artificially’ reducing the waiting list gave a misleading impression of the NHS's performance. Two weeks ago the prime minister claimed figures showed that NHS waiting lists were down by ‘more than 86,000’, which was the ‘largest fall in a month for over two years’. ‘These aren't just numbers - it is thousands of people getting the care they need,’ he said. However, this drop was only achieved by removing thousands of patients from the waiting list through the ‘validation’ process. In November - the month that Starmer was referring to - 346,300 were removed from NHS waiting lists. This was 82,000 more than the month before and almost the entire claimed drop. However, NHS data also shows hospitals carried out about 10 per cent fewer operations and appointments in November than they did in October, suggesting fewer people were being treated. -

Hamas still hiding amongst the population and using them as human shields. A Gazan "doctor" who launched a blistering attack on Israel in two New York Times (NYT) op-eds has been revealed as a Hamas colonel. Hussam Abu Safiya was pictured sporting the terror group's military uniform alongside high-ranking Hamas members in 2016. The image of Mr Safiya was posted by Gaza Medical Services, an organisation overseen by the Hamas-run health ministry, on its social media. The Hamas officials pictured alongside him were celebrating the completion of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza. According to Gaza Medical Services' post, the high-ranking members present included Director of Military Medical Services Saeed Saoudi, National Security Forces commander Naeem Al-Ghoul and General Abu Obaida Al-Jarrah. Just weeks after the October 7 attacks, which left more than 1,200 Israelis dead, Mr Safiya penned a op-ed in the NYT, with another written in December 2024. In one piece, the so-called "doctor" wrote: “We are suffering and paying the price of the genocide that is happening to our people here in the northern Gaza Strip." NGO Monitor senior researcher Vincent Chebat launched a scathing attack on the US outlet. He fumed: “Those who platformed Abu Safiya must do some serious soul-searching, and figure out how they ended up promoting the propaganda of a literal Hamas terrorist." In each op-ed, the newspaper referred to him as a "paediatrician and the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza”. Neither the NYT nor Mr Safiya mentioned his links to the terror group in either piece. However, the Gaza Strip Medical Services labelled him a colonel in a social media post in 2020. -

More Labour corruption. Update... Former City Minister Tulip Siddiq has been sentenced to four years in jail on Monday by a court in her native Bangladesh. The Labour MP for Hampstead and Highgate was jailed in absentia for allegedly trying to acquire plots of land for members of her family in an exclusive residential area of Dhaka called the Purbachal New Town Project. The new ruling comes barely a month after she was sentenced by the same court for two years on related corruption charges. In Monday’s proceedings, Ms Siddiq’s Oxford-educated younger sister, Azmina, 34, and her elder brother, Radwan, 45, have also been sentenced to seven years in jail each. Expand article logo Continue reading Azmina and Radwan, both of whom live in Britain, have been found guilt of illegally acquiring a third of an acre of land each in Purbachal, which would have been used to build apartments. Sheikh Hasina Wazed, the former prime minister of Bangladesh and the aunt of Ms Siddiq, has also been jailed by the court for 10 years for her role in allocating plots of land to her extended family. -

The former prime minister Gordon Brown has asked the cabinet secretary to investigate Peter Mandelson’s apparent disclosure of highly sensitive government information to Jeffrey Epstein. Mandelson was business secretary during Brown’s premiership, when he appears to have leaked an economic briefing to Epstein, who was serving a jail sentence at the time for soliciting prostitution from a minor. The peer is also reported to have told Epstein to “fight for early release” shortly before he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, and told him, “I think the world of you” the day before he began his sentence. Lord Mandelson told Epstein he was “following you closely and here whenever you need” and urged him to “remember the Art of War” when dealing with prosecutors. Questions had been raised about his links to Epstein in recent years, but new reports revealed that he had supported the disgraced US financier while he was being investigated for sexual offences. Brown said on Monday: “Given the shocking new information that has come to light in the latest tranche of Epstein papers, including information about the transfer to Mr Epstein of at least one highly sensitive government document as well as other highly confidential information, I have now written to ask for a wider and more intensive inquiry to take place into the wholly unacceptable disclosure of government papers and information during the period when the country was battling the global financial crisis. Brown said he had requested that Chris Wormald, the cabinet secretary, examine communication about the sale of assets between Mandelson and Epstein in September last year after an earlier release of documents relating to the disgraced financier. But Brown said he was told “no departmental record could be found”. The latest tranche of documents released by authorities in the US show Epstein was sent internal discussions from the top of the UK government in the aftermath of the financial crash. Mandelson’s ability to manipulate the levers of power from the shadows earned him monikers such as “the Prince of Darkness” and “the Dark Lord”. He had been accused of helping one of the Indian billionaire Hinduja brothers get a British passport in return for a £1 million donation to the Millennium Dome. A complete and utter sleazy Bastard! -

BBC told to stop 'tick box' diversity casting. The BBC must stop “tick box” diversity casting in its dramas, a review commissioned by the corporation has warned. The broadcaster is so keen to include ethnic minorities in its programmes that representation is being “shoe-horned” into inappropriate settings such as period dramas. Murder Is Easy, BBC One’s 2023 adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, was cited in the review as an example of diversity being “superimposed” on a story. “Audiences are particularly unforgiving of this if it challenges their expectations of what they have switched on to see. If there’s an Agatha Christie murder mystery over the Christmas period, they won’t expect to be taken into anti-colonial struggles alongside the country house murder,” the review said of the adaptation, which incorporated elements of West African Yoruba culture. There is a danger it will feel overly didactic and preachy, as if the viewer is being lectured or a point is being made heavy-handedly. A vital component of quality for the viewer is authenticity.” The review said that productions “should consider their choices carefully” when it comes to colour-blind casting. “What needs to be avoided is ethnic diversity which looks forced and tick box, and we found our interviewees of colour as emphatic on this point as those who were white.” Rather than “a smattering of diversity in every programme which can lead to inauthentic portrayal” and look “clunky”, BBC commissioners should feel able to make an all-white programme, just as they can produce an all-black programme such as Mr Loverman or I May Destroy You, the review recommended. In modern-day dramas, audiences were particularly critical of ethnic minorities appearing in job roles and areas of the UK where this would be unlikely. Doctor Who was heavily criticised for featuring Nathaniel Curtis, a mixed-race actor, as Sir Isaac Newton. The review identified several problem areas in the BBC’s drive for diversity. “Overall, there appears to be a less positive portrayal of white, working-class men and women in BBC output, particularly when looked at cumulatively. Portrayal of working-class communities can often rely on the themes of poverty, crime, addiction and de-industrialisation with an absence of role models.” Would a white Martin Luther King be appropriate? -

Keir Starmer, what is wrong with this man!!! The final nail in the coffin for Labour ever being voted in again. Keir Starmer is facing calls from MPs to scrap plans to put asylum seekers in new council homes. Around 200 local authorities have registered interest in a pilot scheme that would fund building homes or refurbishing derelict sites for asylum seekers. They include Brighton and Hove, Hackney, Peterborough, Thanet and Powys. But Sir Keir's own MPs criticised the scheme for prioritising asylum seekers' housing needs over Britons. Last year 1.3million families were on social housing waiting lists, up 3 per cent on 2024. It comes as the Daily Mail found some of the councils signed up to the scheme are more likely to have homeless veterans on their streets than others. Graham Stringer, Blackley and Middleton South Labour MP, said the plans are 'unacceptable' as there's already a 'shortage of council housing that should be going to local people'. Jonathan Brash, Labour MP for Hartlepool, said: 'We have an acute shortage of council housing, with local families and key workers stuck on waiting lists or in temporary accommodation. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said the Government is 'so weak... they put illegal immigrants ahead of our own citizens'. According to Government figures,, Brighton and Hove, Thanet and Peterborough – all Labour run – are in the top 10 per cent of councils in England and Wales for veteran homelessness rates. -

You couldn't make it up, let's waste more money. The plans follow Defra-commissioned reports that claimed the countryside would become “irrelevant” in a multicultural society as it was a “white environment” National Landscapes – previously called areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) – and their local councils have since committed to a number of diversity targets. The Chilterns National Landscape team has set out proposals that include community outreach schemes to attract more Muslims to the area, particularly from nearby Luton. More diverse staff will be recruited, marketing material will be produced featuring people visibly from ethnic minorities, and written in “community languages”. Research has also been commissioned to support this work, some of which suggests that dogs should be kept under tighter control, as some groups are scared of them. The area will aim to “develop strategies to reach people or communities with protected characteristics such as people without English as a first language”. -

7,964 views Jan 29, 2026 Keir Starmer, the man who promised us a new era of sober, grown-up government – no more Tory chaos, no more flip-flops – has just jetted off to Beijing for the first British prime ministerial visit to China in eight long years. And what a triumph it’s been. Three hours with President Xi in the Great Hall of the People, a delegation of sixty British business grandees trailing behind him like eager schoolboys on a field trip, and everyone – everyone – issued with burner phones because, well, you never know when the Chinese state might fancy a peek at your contacts. Nothing says “pragmatic, consistent partnership” quite like arriving in a country you openly admit is a systemic threat to our national security… armed with a disposable Nokia. Sir Keir assures us this is all terribly sophisticated. A “reset”, he calls it. A mature, clear-eyed engagement with the world’s second-largest economy. Because apparently the last lot were too inconsistent – swinging from the Cameron-Osborne “golden era” to the frostier realities of Hong Kong crackdowns, Uyghur camps, Russian sanctions-busting and routine espionage against our own Parliament. So Starmer’s bold solution? Fly straight back into the dragon’s embrace, declare it “vital” to talk, and come home waving a few crumbs: a bit of progress on tariffs (details to follow, naturally), and – joy of joys – visa-free travel for Britons staying under thirty days. How generous. The Chinese, of course, already enjoy far easier access to the UK. But never mind reciprocity; we’re pragmatic now. Why court a regime that spies on us, bullies Hong Kong, props up Putin and hoovers up our critical industries while our own security services warn of the threat on an almost weekly basis? Starmer’s response? We must be “clear-eyed”. Clear-eyed! The phrase of the week. He’s clear-eyed about the risks, you see, even as he poses for the cameras with the man who embodies them. Starmer insists we don’t have to choose between the US and China. Really? Because from where I’m sitting, it looks an awful lot like a choice – and not necessarily the one that puts British interests first. One suspects the business delegation loved every minute. AstraZeneca, HSBC, Jaguar Land Rover – all rubbing shoulders, eyeing lucrative deals, while the Prime Minister murmurs sweet nothings about stability and investment. Growth, you see. That’s the magic word. Never mind if it comes wrapped in surveillance and strings; as long as it helps the bottom line and, perchance, funds a few more nurses. Or not. Let no one say Sir Keir lacks ambition. He wants a “long-term, consistent and comprehensive strategic partnership”. Translation: the golden era, but with better branding and fewer illusions – or perhaps more. Because nothing screams consistency like lecturing the Chinese on areas where we disagree… quietly, behind closed doors, while publicly toasting deeper ties. One can only imagine what Xi made of it all. A British Prime Minister, fresh from electoral triumph, arriving cap in hand, burner phone in pocket, begging for scraps. Sophisticated? Mature? Or just the latest proof that when push comes to shove, economic necessity trumps principle every time. Welcome to the new pragmatism, folks. Clear-eyed, consistent… and ever so slightly embarrassing. The embarrassment that is Keir Starmer. 👇click https://youtu.be/aVJWqbud6js?si=IwPXWn87bB0_kT-e -

More Labour impropriety. Labour MP who railed against housing shortage lives in council flat A Labour MP who decried the lack of affordable homes in her constituency is living in a council flat, The Telegraph can reveal. Apsana Begum, who earns a salary of £94,000 as the MP for Poplar and Limehouse, in east London, has spoken out about the “housing crisis across London” and rising rates of homelessness. But The Telegraph can reveal that she continues to live in a council flat, despite admitting almost five years ago that she “probably” did not need it any more. On Saturday, the Tories said Ms Begum’s “hypocrisy is staggering”. Last April, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority set the basic annual salary of MPs at £93,904, up from £91,346. MPs also receive expenses to cover the costs of running an office, employing staff, renting a second home and travelling between Parliament and their constituency. Kevin Hollinrake, the Conservative Party chairman, said: “Apsana Begum’s hypocrisy is staggering. She has been speaking out about the need for more council housing while occupying a council flat herself, despite pocketing an MP’s salary worth more than three times the average wage. “While thousands queue up for the chance to get a council home in Tower Hamlets, Begum is entrenched in a pad that even she admits she doesn’t need. “As ever, it’s one rule for Labour and another for everyone else. Council homes should be for those who really need them.” -

Tower Hamlets councillor runs for election 5,000 miles from London. Absolutely disgraceful. A London councillor has continued to earn £20,000 from the taxpayer despite campaigning for political office in Bangladesh. Sabina Khan is seeking to represent the Bangladesh National Party in the Golapganj-Beanibazar constituency in national assembly elections in February. Yet she continues to serve Tower Hamlets in east London as a councillor, earning £20,600 a year. This includes £11,898 a year as a councillor plus an extra £8,702 for her role as scrutiny lead for resources, a position that requires her to examine the council’s decision-making. Ms Khan attended a recent council meeting on Jan 21, according to Tower Hamlets’ records. However, she has failed to show up for several recent committee meetings, sometimes sending a proxy representative in her place or dialling in remotely. Social media posts showed Ms Khan campaigning in Sylhet, a city in Bangladesh, earlier this month. Other Tower Hamlets councillors have called for Ms Khan, who represents a ward in Mile End, to resign. In a written question, Amy Lee, asked at a November committee meeting: “Does the Mayor agree with me that Councillor Sabina Khan should resign from her role as lead scrutiny member for Finance and Resources, now she has declared her intention to stand for election in Bangladesh so that someone who is actually spending their time in Tower Hamlets can undertake this important role?” -

President Trump helps the Venezuelan people to prosper after decades of neglect and poverty. Venezuela’s acting president has signed into law a bill making significant changes to the country’s oil sector after pressure from the US to open it up to foreign private investment. The new hydrocarbons law promises to give private companies control over oil production and sales, ease taxes and allow for independent arbitration of disputes, while largely maintaining state control over oil production. The US will revive Venezuela’s battered oil industry. “We’re talking about the future. We are talking about the country that we are going to give to our children,” said Delcy Rodríguez, the acting president, who signed the law shortly after its approval by congress. The congressional leader, Jorge Rodríguez – who is the acting president’s brother – celebrated the law’s approval. “I congratulate the people of Venezuela. Only good things will come after the suffering. These are the good things, for everyone, that we must build together, regardless of how we each conceive the prosperity of our republic,” he said. The country was once the world’s largest exporter after emerging as a significant oil producer in the 1920s. Production was nationalised in the 1970s with the creation of PDVSA, which came under Hugo Chávez’s socialist control in the 2000s, when Maduro’s mentor and predecessor dismissed most of its leadership and technical staff. After an initial boom under Chávez, production collapsed after years of mismanagement and corruption. -

Good news but many illegal dumps still being used. Arrests made over supersized illegal rubbish dump Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into the dumping of thousands of tonnes of rubbish in a field in Oxfordshire. The Environment Agency (EA) said a 69-year-old man was arrested at a property in Andover, Hampshire, while a 54-year-old man has been arrested in Slough in connection with the massive pile of rubbish tipped near Kidlington. An EA spokeswoman told the BBC the arrests were for environmental and money laundering offences and were a "vital step" in ongoing investigations. The dump in Kidlington, between the River Cherwell and the A34, is thought to contain approximately 21,000 tonnes of waste in a pile which is up to 150m (490ft) long and 6m (20ft) high. The mound of rubbish is made up of what appears to be processed domestic waste, shredded plastics, polystyrene, tyres and other household items. It is just one of 517 illegal dumps across England, at least 11 of which contain more than 20,000 tonnes of waste. They include a 280,000-tonne site in Cheshire, two 50,000-tonne sites in Lancashire and Cornwall and a 36,000-tonne tip in Kent. Most sites are in countryside locations, often hidden, and on what should be agricultural land. Police say many are run by organised crime gangs, who are making cash by charging much less than legitimate operators to take and bury waste. https://bbc.com/news/articles/cy7m3ezr80yo -

Trucks full of bodies: Iran may have slaughtered 30,000 protesters in 48-hour intense crackdown On Sunday, Iran International estimated that at least 36,500 Iranians have been killed by the regime since the beginning of the protests, citing new documentation and eyewitness accounts from medical staff, families of the deceased, and others. The Daily Mail, citing Iranian-German Professor Amir-Mobarez Parasta, produced a similar estimate, stating that the death toll may be sitting at over 33,000, with 97,645 people wounded. Both Iranian International and Parasta noted that the regime has reportedly started carrying out executions across the country. Several of the dead were reportedly shot in the head after being admitted to the hospital for medical treatment, per images released from local morgues and seen by Iran International. A group of medical personnel confirmed to Iran International that “lethal shots were fired at the injured.” Help is at hand to stop the slaughter. President Trump threatened Iran with another attack that would be “far worse” than the three strikes last summer. "A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela. Like with Venezuela, it is, ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary," Trump wrote in a social media post. -

Keir Starmer will sign Britain’s first law-enforcement deal with China on Thursday to target people-smuggling gangs. In 2025, more than 60 per cent of engines powering the small boats used by smuggling gangs to cross the Channel were made in China. Under the agreement, UK officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) will work with Chinese authorities to prevent engines getting into the hands of criminals. The deal also steps up joint efforts to target Chinese gangs manufacturing synthetic opioids for sale on UK streets. What a joke they are all of Labours plans are a farce. ‘Gimmick after gimmick’ The Conservatives and Reform are calling for the UK to leave the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) to solve the problem. Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, said: “The fact is that Labour cancelled the Rwanda removals deterrent before it even started. Illegal channel crossings have surged since the election as a result. “Labour has tried gimmick after gimmick – first claiming to smash the gangs, then a ‘one in, one out’ deal that saw 41,000 arrive and only 281 removed. “None of this has worked, and neither will this. The Conservative plan is the only one that will work – leave the ECHR enabling every illegal immigrant to be deported within a week of arrival. Then the crossings will soon stop.” -

Reform fury as 'Marxist' union baron pledges teachers will fight Reform's rise Reform UK has condemned the "marxist" head of the National Education Union after he vowed to put schools on the frontline in the fight against the party's rise. He told The House magazine: "I would like to see all education workers, really, in a trade union, to ensure that we can mount an appropriate defence if needs be." It came after Reform's head of policy, Zia Yusuf, told the party's conference last September that schools are becoming "indoctrination camps" under the leadership of hard-left teachers. While Lee Anderson added that a Reform government would "root out" teachers who are "brainwashing" children. Responding to the hard-left union baron's latest attack, a Reform UK spokesman hit back: "Mr Kebede is a self-declared Marxist with a history of supporting far left causes. "A Reform UK government will not tolerate the National Education Union and the other leftwing teaching unions." Just a few weeks ago, Reform UK had a furious bust up with the NEU after teachers were revealed to be equating their party with the Nazis in political education material. In November it was revealed that staff at the Orion group of academies in south London had been using pictures of Richard Tice's face to exemplify "extremist" ideology. Earlier this month Mr Yusuf condemned hard-left teachers for pushing their political biases onto kids, as new stats showed 82% of educators in the NEU support left-wing parties. In his interview with The House magazine, Mr Kebede revealed that a poll of NEU members showed that teachers are becoming even more left-wing. Support for Labour has collapsed among staff by 70% since the general election, while a plurality now support the Green Party. Mr Yusuf said: "What we need to do is make it crystal clear that indoctrination in this manner cannot happen. "It's not like we're expecting teachers to have no political views. We're talking about indoctrination." -

The dangerous downside of democracy and how it can be used as weapon. Convicted terrorist who plotted bombing of British consulate to stand in Birmingham council election. A Muslim activist convicted for his role in an armed terrorist plot is seeking election to Birmingham City Council in May. Shahid Butt, 60, was jailed for five years in 1999 after being found guilty of planned attacks on the British consulate, an Anglican church and a Swiss-owned hotel in Yemen. Prosecutors said the cell had been dispatched by Abu Hamza, the notorious hate preacher whose son was among those convicted. Now, Butt is standing in the Sparkhill ward for the Independent Candidates Alliance, an activist-led grouping expected to field around 20 candidates across Birmingham on May 7. Sparkhill has a large Pakistani-heritage population, accounting for almost two-thirds of local residents. The Alliance was founded by campaigners Akhmed Yakoob and Shakeel Afsar and is targeting seats Labour fears could be vulnerable amid anger among Muslim voters over the party’s stance on Israel. Expand article logo Continue reading Butt’s candidacy has prompted immediate backlash online, with critics accusing him of promoting violence and pushing an Islamist agenda. He has previously urged young Muslims to “work out at the gym and learn to fight” in preparation for potential attacks. Footage from protests at the fixture shows him telling crowds: “Muslims are not pacifists… if somebody comes into your face, you knock his teeth out. That’s my message to the youth.” -

Patients suffered life-changing injuries including amputations, permanent deformities and chronic pain, the Sunday Times reports. Former consultant surgeon Yaser Jabbar, 43, who worked in its orthopaedic department, has been described by colleagues as “cavalier” and “blasé”. At least 22 children who underwent limb reconstruction surgery are known to have been harmed, according to a leaked report on the scandal by the Royal College of Surgeons. Thirteen of those cases were classed as severe with one victim aged just four-months-old. Police Federation boss wrongly sacked after speaking to Telegraph, court finds We can't even speak out the truth anymore without being smeared racist. The former head of the Metropolitan Police Federation, who was sacked after giving an interview to The Telegraph, was unlawfully treated, the High Court has ruled. Rick Prior was suspended in October 2024 after warning that his members were increasingly nervous about challenging people from some ethnic minorities for fear of being labelled racist. He was then sacked for comments he made in The Telegraph in which he complained about his treatment. The High Court has now ruled that the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) – the statutory association for police staff – acted unfairly in its treatment of both officers. The court found that both suspensions were unlawful and a breach of their Article 10 right to freedom of expression. The judge stressed that as an elected representative, Mr Prior had the right to comment on matters of public interest such as race relations, policing standards and officer confidence. Mr Prior was suspended after he gave a television interview warning that his members were increasingly worried about using force for fear of becoming the subject of a vexatious racism complaint. His comments followed a number of high-profile incidents, including a constable being convicted of assault after challenging a woman who refused to show a valid bus ticket. Mr Prior, who was elected to represent 30,000 officers across London, said that such incidents were eroding his members’ confidence. He explained: “There seems to be an assumption of racism right from the off, particularly when it’s a white officer and a member of the public from a minority ethnic community. “And it almost seems as if the onus is then on the police officer to prove that the interaction wasn’t racist.” The following day, the PFEW suspended him from his role and barred him from standing in the upcoming election, claiming that the comments were “discriminatory in nature”. Meanwhile, Mr Cooke was similarly suspended by the PFEW The court found that the suspensions and restrictions on their ability to stand for office were unjustified, disproportionate and a breach of their freedom of expression human rights. “It confirms that suspension must never be used casually or as a tool of ideological conformity, particularly where speech on matters of public interest is concerned. “The ruling strengthens protections for all workers, representatives and office holders who face disciplinary action for expressing lawful views – and sends a clear message that casual bias and echo-chamber thinking come at a legal cost.” -

Top Al-Qaeda chief could be released onto Britain's streets in weeks after being granted new hearing Rangzieb Ahmed, the most senior Al-Qaeda figure ever convicted in Britain, is due to appear before a parole panel on February 13 as he makes another bid for release. The 48-year-old, once described as "Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man". A jury at Manchester Crown Court found he had led a three-man cell preparing acts of mass murder against the British public. The conviction centred on Ahmed’s role in orchestrating a terror network with links to the highest levels of international jihadism. Investigators established connections between the former taxi driver and the perpetrators of the 7 July 2005 London bombings, as well as the failed attacks two weeks later. A risk assessment submitted to the panel said Ahmed remained “susceptible to indoctrination” and presented a genuine danger of reoffending. It noted the sentencing judge had found him “dedicated to the cause of Islamic terrorism”, believing it to be his religious duty.
