Hello everyone! We're moving abroad for 3 or 4 years this spring and are considering which agent to let our 3 bed house through. Does anyone have any agent they particularly recommend or any agent they'd suggest beeing careful with? Or maybe anybody done a private rental and found that better?
All advices/thoughts welcome! -

Do you love to meet new people and provide information to the general public about what is happening in their local communities and to help them connect to activities?
If this sounds like you, you might enjoy volunteering for us at the volunteer centre in Guildford!
We are looking for some new volunteers to help in the centre on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10am-3pm to help members of the public with any queries about volunteering or to research and connect them with activities happening in Guildford and Waverley.
As part of the role you will also be responsible for assisting a group of organisations with advertising their volunteering opportunities and helping them publish these to our volunteer recruitment website.
You will be required to sit at the front desks in the volunteer centre, greet members of the public who drop in, assist people, answer the phones, respond to email queries and get involved with lots of interesting research about activities and services in the local areas.
This is the perfect volunteer role if you are looking to make a regular, weekly volunteering commitment and use your office, research and communication based skills whilst learning and developing new skills in an environment with like-minded individuals. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
Please visit our website to find out more information and to apply: https://voluntaryactionsws.org.uk/
OR, please give us a call on 01483 565456, or email info@vasws.org.uk
We look forward to hearing from you! -

The Real Change Guildford initiative has officially launched!
What is Real Change?
Real Change is a community initiative for people to give money to the homeless without directly giving it to them on the streets.
The aim of this initiative is to help all of the ‘invisible’ homeless and the people we do not see on a daily basis. The initative is supported by Riverside Housing, Guildford Action, Experience Guildford and VASWS. Several business are involved including Sainsbury’s on the Guildford High Street.
The idea of the initiative is that people who are homeless will be able to apply directly for grants that will help with accommodation, clothing and food. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £2,000.
The application process will be simple and decisions will be made quickly with small grants being made immediately and larger ones going to a panel. All people who are homeless can apply for this and there is no criteria they must meet, applications can be made through partner organisations.
For more information and if you would like to donate, please visit the Real Change Guildford Just Giving page - https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/RealChangeGuildford -

Unemployed people in Guildford can once again benefit with practical advice and help from a job club run by local churches.
Volunteers from Guildford Baptist Church, Christ Church and the Guildford Community Church have undergone training with charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to run the weekly club.
It starts again on Tuesday May 7, at 10am at Guildford Baprtist Church in Millmead, and follows on from the job club that ran there from January to March this year.
Guildford Baptist Church’s CAP Job Club Manager, Nick Walden, said: “We really wanted to make a practical contribution to the community and we thought by running a job club that was the best way. Everyone who comes on the course, whether you’ve been out of work for a while or maybe you want to change jobs but aren’t sure how to start – this course is for you.”
He added that Guildford Baptist Church’s job club is one of around 150 in the UK that help hundreds of people find work each year.
The eight-week course provides jobseekers with essential skills, such as CV writing, interview technique and the value of volunteering.
At the heart of the course is a supportive peer-to-peer group where course members can share their experiences, struggles and advice. In addition, each is given one-to-one coaching to develop their strengths and identify other opportunities, such as volunteering or additional training.
Nick added: “Our job club is a warm, friendly and relaxed environment. Let us help you take your first steps into employment and a job you’ll enjoy.”
