Nando's Nino is an express version of Nando's. This is the third restaurant in this format that has rolled out.

fulham road - new pop-art gallery
For all art lovers - or maybe as a special Christmas gift for someone - there's a new pop-up Gallery / boutique on Fulham road just opened. It's managed by Ad Lib Events and Marketing and the launch party is this Wednesday 13th November from 6pm-8.30pm. There are over 100 artworks priced from £ 50 upwards by artists from London, Lisbon and beyond. If you can’t make Wednesday night, the shop is open Monday to Saturday 11am-6pm.
Address: Ad Lib pop-up Gallery, 725 Fulham Road, SW6 5UL.
The current exhibition is on until 5pm on 16th November with the next event ('An Eye For The Sound' – 40 years of music photography by Tim Motion) running from 18th to 24th November.
I saw a lady post this on another site and thought i'd let others know just in case.
"I was approached by a woman this morning in Bramfield Road who asked me to help her with the parking meter as she could not read it properly. She had a five pound note in her hand and asked if I would pay with my card........to cut a long story short, whilst my card was in the machine another man appeared and said the machine was not working and had eaten his card earlier and that I should cancel the payment straight away. Somewhere in this interaction I assume my card was deftly removed by one of them but told by the man that it took him five minutes to get his card back - then they both seemed to disappear..... Realising I had been scammed (and feeling incredibly stupid!) I went straight to my bank and cancelled card. In that five to ten minute period, they had withdrawn a large sum of money at Alfriston post office. All reported to police but please everyone and I feel sad to say this but think twice before you help anyone with parking meters or cash points. I have reported this information to the police."
Hi I'm looking for a carpenter to design and build a cupboard for my dining room, as well as a shoe rack for my hallway. Any recommendations?
My boiler is starting to play up and don't want to be caught short with winter coming. Has anyone got a recommendation for boiler servicing?

Duck Tours Planning meeting changed to Wednesday, 27 November at Wandsworth Town Hall
The planning meeting was to have been held this Thursday but it's now been put back to the above date. If you feel strongly against the proposed Duck Tours application to use the slipway on Battersea Church Road (next to the Church), please do go along.
Details were revealed in an earlier post.
Date: 30.11.2019. Time: 18:30
Location: Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park
Duck Tours Planning Meeting on 7.30 on Thursday, 24 October at Wandsworth Town Hall
If you're opposed to this, please attend this meeting where it's to be discussed. Some of the reasons why some of us oppose the move are listed below, sent by the local councillors.
· The impact on road safety on already busy roads like Battersea Church Road: With a nursery nearby, and families and vulnerable residents using this road on a daily basis, this is a huge concern. The applicant is proposing to use the slipway up to 14 times a day.
· Concerns about air pollution: We know this is already a concern for residents and introducing more commercial vehicles here would only make the situation worse.
· The impact on local wildlife: Swans and Geese among other wildlife, use this part of the riverbank to raise their young. They would be put in harm’s way by commercial craft frequently using the slipway.
· Noise Pollution: St Mary’s Church is a place of reflection. This would be changed significantly by commercial craft regularly using the slipway.
· Our very special church – St Mary’s is the finest building in this part of Battersea, with an exceptional riverside setting. The proposed use of the slipway would represent a huge intensification of the use of this area and will greatly and negatively impact on the setting of this listed building.
· Unneighbourly Use – Many residents of Old Swan Wharf have balconies overlooking the river – the proposed use by the tour company’s vehicles generating noise and polluting fumes will make the use of the balconies unbearable.
As Councillors, we wanted to make you aware of this and invite you to attend the Planning Application Committee at Wandsworth Town Hall on 24th October 2019 at 7.30pm when these proposals will be presented. It’s vital that the committee sees and understands how many residents are very concerned about these proposals.
Hi, please can anyone recommend a cake baker who can make memory cakes? Its my mum's 70th so want to surprise her with a cake with key moments in her life. Many thanks
Guided Walk - Sat. 28th - Long and very attractive.
Hullo!
Do you like walking? Walking that's a proper work-out in seriously attractive landscape?
If so, there's a rather special 21 mile guided walk this Saturday 28th September. The route is in South East London from Crystal Palace to Erith. We'll be using a Nationally recognised footpath - The 'Green Chain Walk'. A map is attached.
The walk requires average walking pace of 3mph for the first 13 miles and cannot be slower but there are a couple of breaks along the way. After 13 miles the pace slows-up so that we can appreciate the remarkable scenery. This is the 14th annual offering of this walk and very few haven't made it to the end, the camaraderie and superb scenery keeps enthusiasm raised.
In most of the past 14 years the walk has been promoted by TfL's 'Walk London' project. As Walk London are in abeyance until possibly next year and the walk is too enjoyable to miss I'm offering it off-my-own-bat this time.
You and friends are most welcome.
==========
* No need to register, just turn up. BUT... I'd be very happy to hear that you're attending in advance. Just reply to say so.
* Meet outside Crystal Palace railway station at 09.15, Saturday 28th September.
* Finish by the Thames at Erith at 18.30 (6.30pm).
* A packed lunch is essential.
* You must be able to maintain average walking pace for 13 miles, that's 3mph. There are breaks!
* The walk is steep in parts after lunch at 13 miles.
* The weather forecast is currently very good.
* You may join or leave at any point and there is excellent public transport throughout.
* We will not finish late!
* You participate at your own risk and are expected to be mindful of your own well-being.
Plenty of trains will be running from Erith for our return home.
This is not a TfL/Walk London event. I am offering my services voluntarily although I will accept contributions towards my expenses and time should you wish to make any.
==========
This is London's longest established long-distance guided walk and over the years many hundreds have participated.
The walk retains its popularity by passing through the Capital's finest landscape, unquestionably its finest woodland, and offers wonderful views over London and Kent later stretching right out into the Thames Estuary and over Essex. In the walk's 21 miles no less than 63% is off-road, increasing to 72% for the section after lunch. Remarkable and unsurpassed figures for a London walk of this length. The Green Chain footpath links together 4,500 acres of undeveloped land in South East London and this walk carefully balances distance and gradient to allow an excellent introduction to that outstanding resource.
I look forward to seeing you on the 28th and please do contact me if you'd like any further details.
All the best
Ian

These Scooter boys have been terrorising my area between the commons (and no doubt everywhere else) for a long time. Nice to see the police finally nab one. Not sure worrying or reassuring but a 3rd policeman got out of the car with a semi automatic rifle.
ATTENTION 46-54 WARRINER GARDENS Residents
Dear Warriner Garden neigbbors.
I am moving tomorrow and will miss this friendly street.
My moving company is arriving tomorrow (Saturday) morning between 8 and 9 am.
I neglected to secure No Parking in front of the flat so I placed a bin on the road in effort to hold the area, however the bin was moved and there are a couple of black cars that have parked in this area. I hope that you will please be able to help me tomorrow morning by moving your cars across the road.... Many thanks for your help.
Amanda
Hi any recommendation for a local MOT/Service centre please. I have a 3 series BMW if that makes any difference. Thanks

On Saturday 20th the Ramblers are re-launching one of London's best footpaths, the 'Capital Ring'. There are a series of FREE guided walks across London, all led by experts. You can see a list here...
https://www.innerlondonramblers.org.uk/articles-62328/news-category/216-capital-ring-rangers-and-london-loop-leaders.html.
I'm leading section '1' so you'll have to venture to Woolwich for 11.00 should you want the dubious pleasure of meeting me. It is one of the best parts of the footpath though so below I append a few details.
All the best

=========
7.3 Miles.
11.00. Meet outside Woolwich Arsenal main-line station.
1.30pm approx., lunch at Charlton Park.
5 to 5.30pm, finish at Falconwood station.
It's the same as I offered on 19th May so here's an extract from my description from then.
After passing through the historic Royal Arsenal we'll join the Thames Path and via the former Royal Naval Dockyard of 1512, make our way to the Thames Barrier. Maryon Park is next and this is famous for its starring role in the 1960s cult film 'Blow Up'. Now through the tranquil Maryon Wilson Park with its animal enclosures and specimen trees to Charlton Park and Charlton House, London's finest Jacobean building.
After lunch we'll cross onto Woolwich Common with its views of Essex. This remains a wild tract of land thanks to having been owned by the Army for some centuries. We now approach the densely wooded sides of Shooters Hill and we'll be in Woodland until the end of the walk excepting a notably pleasant interlude. Within the woods we pass Severndroog Castle which won't be open but is always worth a look. Yet more excellent woodland follows Severndroog Castle and it leads to the interlude in the dense verdancy, the broad green-sward of Oxleas Meadow with its sweeping vista across Surrey and West Kent.
We now begin to descend from Shooters Hill through the primordial Oxleas Woods. These, again, are highly attractive, dense, extensive, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest throughout. Crossing a road, a great rarity on this walk, we'll enter Oxleas Wood's twin, Shepherdleas woods. Emerging from Shepherdleas Woods and after miles of solid rurality and magnificent views we see Falconwood station before us for trains home.

Walk to see all of the London sights?
Hi everyone, my sister is coming to stay with me (currently lives in Hong Kong!) and I want to show her all the usual sights of London in one day. Can you recommend a good route or point me in the direction of any good walking resources? I know it must be doable but, I must admit I don't often go into Zone 1, and don't know it very well at all! Any advice would be amazing, thanks

I am looking to rent my spare bedroom out, but I am not sure what to charge monthly. If anyone here has rented out a bedroom in Clapham Junction, what did you charge? This dog needs to be muzzled.
