Wimbledon could have a Russian champion
Wimbledon organisers are thought to be absolutely livid that Russian tennis player Elena Rybakina has circumvented the ban on Russian players by switching allegiance to Kazakhstan shortly before the tournament.
She was born in Moscow and lives there so no doubting she is Russian.
As for the final itself, I think the other finalist, Ons Jabeur, will be the favourite.
Could be the first African, ethnically Arab, Tunisian winner. Or the first (not really) Kazakh winner.
But as I've said before tennis players represent themselves, not their countries. There should never have been a ban.
