If you are the World Champion in any sport, that's it, best in the world. There can only be one World Champion.
The person who finished 2nd to you, can by called 2nd place, or runner-up, or silver medallist.
But can they really call themselves the Vice World Champion?
That sounds too much like they are on standby to take over as World Champion if the real World Champion dies. Like a vice president taking over from a president before any election is due.
