Side by Side is a new service preventing isolation and keeping people with dementia active and engaged in their community, enabling them to continue to ‘be themselves’ and live well with the condition, through regular (usually weekly) one-to-one meetings. As a volunteer, you will enable someone to continue (or start) participating in social and recreational activities, helping them to keep doing things they love such as listening to music, cooking, meeting up with friends or taking a walk in the park. Your support gives them the confidence to take part and to value their own abilities, talents and potential to contribute and achieve.
