I have just signed up. I doubt we will buy them (unless the price is a true bargain) but the more people that show an interest, the cheaper the quotes will be for those that can afford to buy them! It is not in any way a commitment to buy. I picked it up from the council offices in Morden. The deadline in tomorrow. Please take a look at the website if you are in any way environmentally aware or would like to support others who might be. www.solartogether.co.uk/Merton

Centenary match - 14 September 2019
In September 2019 Mitcham Cricket Club will be commemorating a famous match in our history.
In 1919 the touring Australian Imperial Forces cricket team visited Mitcham as part of a tour of England. The game, which was a benefit for groundsman Harry Histed, featured some players who would became greats of Australian cricket in the 1920s. Herbie Collins the future Test captain as well as the legendary all-rounder Jack Gregory played in the game on Mitcham Cricket Green.
In September 2019, to mark the centenary of that game, Mitcham welcomes a new generation of Aussies to the Green. On September 14th, to coincide with Mitcham Heritage Day. a Mitcham XI will play an Australian XI. As the Ashes reach their conclusion up the road at the Oval, our own Ashes battle will entertain the crowds in CR4.
The game will start at 11.30 pm. Bars and food will be available. After the match join the teams for a party in the pavilion till late.
If you want to sponsor the event and add your company name to the programme email us. -

I would just like to thank the person in my street who has reported a close neighbour to the authorities for parking their work's van from when they get home to when they go to work. This is a very selfish attitude and apart from costing my neighbour over £200 in parking tickets has created a very bad feeling between them and their neighbours and they are trying to find out who has reported them. If I find out I will certainly pass the information on so. This has never caused a problem to me or other close by neighbours so it is probably someone from further away who just can't leave well enough alone.

Remember watching Time Team and wondering what it would be like to be part of a dig?
The Canons House and Grounds Lottery-funded project is undertaking an archaeological dig on 23rd, 24th and 25th May 2019 on the East Lawn of The Canons, next to the dovecote.
They are looking for volunteers to help the project team and archaeologists with digging, cleaning, categorising and illustrating them; as well as helping to oversee the participants and looking out for their needs, health and safety.
They need volunteer assistants on each of these days between 10:00am and 6:00pm. If you would like to join them for a half day, whole day or multiple days, they would love to have you. You will be provided with water, lunch, a safe place to your belongings and breaks. You will get a full health and safety briefing as well as training on archaeological activities.
