    United Utilities fined £800,000 for over-abstraction of water

    Before you celebrate, consider this - UU charge £1.988 per 1,000 litres of water supplied and £1.325 per 1,000 litres of water removed. That amounts to nearly £73m in additional income. Admittedly, they will have incurred some additional costs, but the fine looks like a bargain.
