The inconvenient truth
>> Recent actions from the Labour government - you probably missed them: <<<
1. £9 billion Defense Housing Strategy to improve 40,000 military homes - actual investment in the people who serve.
2. 1/3 of UK manufacturing firms say they’ll accelerate investment under Labour’s Industrial Strategy. That’s confidence returning.
3. 475,000 more people in jobs than a year ago - not bad for a so-called “no-plan” party.
4. 60,000 knives removed from the streets since July 2024 - and yet we’re told Labour is “soft on crime.”
5. £17.3 million invested in Aberdeen’s Energy Transition Zone - real money into a real future.
6. £700 million pump‑priming for “Build it in Britain” clean energy supply chains - creating jobs in coastal and ex‑industrial communities.
7. £400 million in annual savings for UK industry** through expanded energy cost exemptions - helping businesses and the energy transition.
8. Net-zero economy expanding three times faster than the overall UK economy generating £83 billion in value and employing nearly 1 million people, at above-average pay.
9. Secured over £250 billion in investment into key growth sectors supporting 45,000 high‑quality jobs and building long-term resilience.
10. 10‑year “Modern Industrial Strategy” launched - boost business investment, productivity and resilience across 8 priority sectors, pledging to create 1.1 million jobs over the decade.
And that’s just a slice. Add in railway renationalisation, renters’ protections, the biggest minimum wage rise in two decades, and a major employment rights overhaul. None of it’s perfect — but it’s real.
