    Reminiscing - 1977

1977 for me personally was the last year I reallly paid attention to pop music - children and work demands and the advent of (in my opinion and not intending to offend anyone) the music genre that started the decline and generally devoid of melody and the ability to actually sing - Punk. If you disagree please feel free to say so.

    Hits from that year:

    - Don't give up on us by David Soul
    - I don't want to talk about it by Rod Stewart
    - I feel love by Donna Summer
    - Name of the game by ABBA

...and this one from Michael Nesmith Rio

    In 1977:

    - HMQ's Silver Jubilee in the rain
    - Mount St Helen's erupted causing a miserable summer in contrast to the incredible one in 1976
    - Red Rum won the Grand National for the third time
    - The world snooker championship moved to The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and was televised for the first time - Won by John Spencer.
    - Manchester United F.C. manager Tommy Docherty was sensationally dismissed by the club's directors due to his affair with the wife of the club's physiotherapist
    - Sales of new Foreign cars exceeded the sale of new British cars for the first time.

Have you got any memories of 1977 to share?
