    THE Hit song of 1953 was undoubtedly I Believe by Frankie Laine. In total, it spent 18 weeks in the No 1 spot in the UK charts. I'm sure everyone will know the song. He was another of those American-Italian singers - real name Francesco Paolo LoVecchio.
    There have been many versions of I Believe including by The Bachelors and Robson and Jerome but do any of them better Frankie Laine?
