This is Recycling Week. Everyone is being encouraged to think of the environment, to consider what they buy and use, and to find out how they can recycle more of it.

For its part, Slough Borough Council has been reminding us of its FREE green waste collection service for residents: https://www.slough.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/garden-waste.aspx
SBC has also been reminding us that only FOUR things are collected in the red recycling bins:
-- glass bottles and jars (clean)
-- paper and cardboard
-- steel or aluminium food or drink cans
-- plastic bottles (without any lid/nozzle/spray/pump attached)
...and that all recycled items should be clean and dry.
Equally important is the list of things that you might think are recyclable, but in fact, are not:
-- fast food wrappings, pizza boxes, or similar
-- aerosols
-- any plastic that is not bottle-shaped.
Putting any of these in your recycling could contaminate the whole lorryload, making it unsuitable for recycling, and wasting everyone's time and resources.
