Private messaging - the dangers of Telegram
There have occasionally been threads or comments about private (hidden) groups and opposing discussions of why they are present and possible uses. In theory any social media forum could be infiltrated by someone using a seemingly innocuous profile then setting up a private/secret/hidden group/loop or account for illegal or dangerous content, plots including terrorism.
Recently the App Telegram promoted as similar to What’s app with added private facilities has been in the news again, often used by conspiracy theorists, illegal sellers and terrorists. They offer virtual rooms, where people may be invited to share harmful and illegal material such child pornography or arrange drug dealing, smuggling or modern slavery.
