You may be aware that it is possible for a hacker to take over the operation of your phone. This would allow them access to any banking app, or other action. Should you be sent a one time passcode (OTP), they will also be able to see this. To avoid this happening, you can have the code sent to another phone, or by email (not available on phone), if that choice is available.
