Freedom of speech...
Now moving on to that other bastion of integrity Nigel Farage. He endlessly recycles the claim that Britain is silencing dissent while enjoying wall to wall media access, protests, political platforms and paid speaking tours. A man who can say almost anything on national television is not being silenced. He is being challenged and he does not like it.
The UK is currently having serious and necessary debates about protest policing public order and the balance between rights and safety. That is what democracies do. They argue in public. They scrutinise power. They adjust the law. None of that equates to the absence of freedom.
