Fire Alarm
The ceiling fire alarm (I have three) has been been bleeping since Friday, finally stopped last night. Neighbour went up the ladder on Friday only to find it's connected to mains and needs to be turned off at board. Would anyone know which switch to turn off, would it be a different colour. Tried the retired electrician I know yesterday who would have done it for me but he's unwell at the moment so couldn't ask him.
Two friends have had the Fire Service install alarms without any problems so tried them (criteria being if over a certain age and smoker) last Friday, left message and just had a call this morning, appointment booked for 3rd October for survey and maybe install alarms, won't touch mains ones so will mean having double alarms everywhere. Apparently there will be a back-up battery in the alarms but cover says don't remove without switching off at mains? I have tried Googling but would prefer to hear from someone who has the same type of alarm if possible who might know. Many thanks.
