Here’s another directions quiz. You take the three major city centres mentioned below and work out or guess which foreign country you would first cross if you set off in each of the four main directions. A small clue – you may need to go round the globe through the north or south pole. I have discounted land in Antarctica that may be claimed by a country. No use of reference material or the internet of course to ensure fair play. Good luck.
REMEMBER - NO POSTS instead you PM me with your guesses any time up to midnight tonight. If possible, please wait until you've completed all the guesses you want to make to avoid too many PMs and to make my job easier. So no hurry and it doesn't matter when you submit the answers because I'll be judging them solely on who has the most correct - and in the event of two or more being level it will be a tie. Feel free to change your mind on an answer you may have already given. I hope this is clear and good luck. Tomorrow I’ll post the names of the top entries.

I've been thinking of introducing a new type of quiz but it would only work with several participants. So I thought I would sound it out.
You will all be familiar with Pointless I'm sure. Loosely based on this, for the quiz I would invite you to name 10 examples of something (such as English counties or Elvis films for example). The idea would be to list examples that you think others may be less likely to choose. The winner would be the person whose list contains the most examples that no-one else has chosen.
So do please let me know if this idea appeals. -

A demonym is the word used to denote the natives or inhabitants of a particular country, state or territory etc – for France the answer would be French for example. Thanks for your support and participation during this awful year. Let's hope next year is a lot better.
And my last word on Christmas comes in the form of two of my favourite Christmas songs which, I suspect, many of you will never have heard (and which oddly enough both concern San Francisco):

Mary Berry’s Christmas Pudding recipe quiz
Today a topical subject for our quiz. Mary Berry’s recipe for Christmas pudding lists 11 ingredients (disregarding those for the brandy butter). You have to guess what the 11 items are. Good luck and I hope you will enjoy.
I hope this is clear and good luck. Tomorrow I’ll post the names of the top entries. -
Who plays Monopoly? Today's quiz concerns the traditional UK Monopoly board. Below is list of the squares on the board going clockwise starting with Go. What you have to do is to identify the properties which occupy the numbered squares where the colour has been shown. Two points for every correct answer and one point for getting a property in the right colour but wrong square. No use of reference material or the internet of course to ensure fair play. Good luck and I hope you will enjoy getting your memory buds working overtime.
