Just wanted to share our progress on one of our allotments. SO proud of all the women who worked really hard to get it how it is today. It felt so good to be able to plant a few things this year. Still a way to go - but isn't that always the case on allotments lol. And once we've got the top soil in the raised beds we'll be able to do more.

  • We were lucky enough to have been given some willow, had just enough to build the frame, not perfect but what is! Now waiting for the dwarf/french + borlotti beans to be strong enough to plant up. Very excited and glad we started them off inside from seed, as weather that's due could well have killed them off - Phew

  • How many of you made the effort to have a chat with someone-anyone today? We teamed up with a local café to give away coffee to people passing by on their walks. It was really lovely to be able to have different conversations with a variety of people. #timetotalk
  • Has anyone braved the weather and worked on their allotments? We've been busy converting an old shed into fence panels, the hardest bit has been banging to posts in BUT has meant we've kept warm, it's been weird with the social distancing but we've done it - albeit very Heath Robinson style - which has meant we are holding onto some sort of sanity THANK GOODNESS FOR ALLOTMENTS EH!

  • I can't be the only one that has been having weird dreams - can I?- Occasionally some are scary but on the whole they're just a bit 'off the wall'. I try to do all the right things and don't eat cheese or sugary cakes etc after 8pm. I don't watch anything on the TV that could be too taxing on the brain at night. I'm never on my computer after 7pm and try to turn my phone off at least an hour before bed. I do love a cup of hot chocolate but have even tried calming teas (I do not like them!) I guess the only consolation is I do wake feeling refreshed Anyone else having weird dreams?

  • I don't believe in NY resolutions (probably because I can't seem to stick to them lol) But thought this would be something positive to focus on. I may even swap them around and probably end up doing more than one a day- but that's ok. If it helps then it's all good x

  • I'm usually a 'cup half full' kind of girl but recently I found myself feeling very low, crying a lot, biting people's heads off and generally very sad. I found myself just sinking lower and lower, not getting dressed, forgetting about meetings and crying - good grief the crying!! It was all getting too much and I really didn't like the feeling, it felt like I had a lead coat and boots on. But I decided to get dressed and get out of the house and walked - and walked - and walked and when I got home I did feel lighter, brighter and generally happier and the weight had lifted somewhat. I don't know if I've come through it but I do know that if I get out the house I do feel a little happier. It's really scary how quickly the darkness can set in and how much effort it takes to start to clear the fog, but I've got far too much I want to do so I'm going to keep putting one foot in front of the other until I can feel the sunshine on my face again.
