There are four TV shows that keep rewatching years after years. These are: 1. Friends - I'm not gonna lie this is the number one for me. The reason is that all episodes are almost equally good, so no matter which one you pick it will be fun to watch. All the actors are brilliant, almost no favourites. Maybe except Ross, my alter ego ;) 2. The Office (US) - there are plenty of episodes that are by far much better than any Friends ones, but the show is uneven at times. You will love the real feel of mockumentary with no background laughs, though! 3. The IT Crowd - that would be my number one in terms of actors, the humour and the fact it's about IT guys in London. But it's only 24 episodes I think so not enough to binge-watch. Every episode is a masterpiece though, every little details matters and everything always nicely wraps up at the end. 4. How I met your mother - resemblance to Friends is obvious. Most the episodes are funny or very funny, but can be pretentious.

The latest poll in Community Support group has ended, I wanted to quickly comment on it, but it seems the support already closed it. Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone who participated. Bigger number of votes would have given me/us a better picture but still it's good. For me personally the most important result is 22% of the votes on "The website or user app often loads too slowly or has too many bugs". Making the site load faster is now a top-priority thing for next weeks for the tech team. One surprising thing is that no-one voted on "I get far too many notifications". I was suspecting quite a few votes as this is something I would have voted for. Before, we planned on upgrading how notifications are grouped and a few other changes, but thanks to this poll this will surely be postponed now. So yes, every vote counts. Have a good evening.

After long months I finally tired out "The Crown" (Season 3 and 4) on Netflix. Has anyone seen it? I bet many users did as it's after all a history about our/your beloved Queen. It all got me thinking how this whole monarchy structure even works. As an outsider (to UK) I always thought of the queen as some kind of mascot to England (if I offended anyone here I can call her Latin Fidei Defensor). I read that weakening of British monarchy started with queen Victoria (yet, 18th most popular English person apparently to some poll I forgot). She would show up on TV on some special occasion, like Ascot, sometimes dressed in a funny attire. That was pretty it. And yes, of course unhappy Diana with unhappy Charles - every little kid, even in far depths of Poland knew of this great, great tragedy... Somehow, no-one ever wondered why we even gave a hoot to all this joke. And don't get me wrong, I'm not some revolutionary freak that wants to kill all the aristocracy back in 18th century. It's just that to me the woman does literally nothing, except for owning some land and showing up here and there. I admit, this is a very valuable brand for UK (Elisabethness, Diananess, etc) and I wouldn't get rid of the goose that lays the golden egg. But at least it's given this is all a well-planned theatrical show, isn't? And now back to Netflix - the show on the other hand seems to say that Queen's role in the political landscape really matters. And that's what's struck me the most when watching it. Even as a "consultant" of sorts to the PM she is after all British sovereign - I know - but what does it even mean? It's just a word, because it is OBVIOUS the real sovereign are British people - they can cancel this show in a referendum, any time. So my main question is: is the whole story just super exaggerated or is that 1:1 real? Based on your memories and knowledge.

As you might have noticed, we introduced a new feature called "Pages". You can see there is a new widget on main page right-hand sidebar called "Suggested Pages to Follow". The feature is still in its infancy, therefore we kind of keep it under the radar for now. What are Pages? Anyone can request to run a page on any subject. Pages are run anonymously. Page can collect followers. Followers will get notification when a page posts something. That's pretty much the summary. If you have any more questions, please ask or simply follow a few pages we have and see for yourself.

OK, so first I wanted to thank everyone for participating. What we've decided is that we will give the user the option to remove only the contents of the initial post, without destroying the whole discussion (whole thread) - simple as that. Should this happen, the post will read "Content of this post was removed by its author" or something of this sort. On a bit different, more negative note, I wanted to say I will be suspending users who sidetrack the conversation from my group here. I'm sorry, but as much I love to read about your personal disagreements, my primary job is to actually code those things we discuss with my team, not to read into reports. I'm running this group myself to be able to more quickly cut to the chase of the problem, that's all. Either way, I'm hoping I can count on you for next polls to come, and there will be many more interesting ones.

(Revised wording) When a user creates a thread in a group and then wants to remove it - what should happen?

Hi, we've been seeing some spammers abusing open groups. Just wanted to remind the moderators that `remove user` or `suspend user` options work the same way as in private groups. Meaning, if you remove or suspend the user there is no way they can post again. On this note, maybe we need another group type, i.e. users could view the contents but have to be approved to join? Tell me what you think please.

Hi, we've just published some changes that should load your posts faster (esp. main feed, group feeds). It affects both desktop and the app. We've tested all major functionalities, but having said that, please report any unexpected side effects should you encounter. Thanks

As discussed on other occasion and requested by users, we've implemented a few more "improvements" to the blocking feature. Blocking will now pretty much mean to "make myself almost invisible" to the blocked user and vice versa. I don't want to list exactly what we've covered, but it safe to say the blocker should be out of sight of the blocked person, no notifications or comments/posts should be visible for both of them . There is one major exception to this feature, though. If the blocking happens between member and moderator of the same group, they will still see each others posts. It's for the simple fact that if either of them can't stand each other they should not be in the same group. The app will catch up shortly after. I can't really say "happy blocking" but If you do need to block someone and you still think there is something missing, a bug or a glitch, please let us know.

Some changes were introduced to the Follow feature, which are: - You can choose now between private and public type of account (check settings page or Friends/Followers page's sidebar). - Private type of account lets you control your followers list - You can switch between private/public account with no limitation at any time - You can now post to followers only (see main posting form) These changes are still fresh, some glitches might happen. If they do please report. The app will catch up shortly. FYI, improvements for blocking feature are next to happen, hopefully this week.

Posting this on behalf of the Support team: - a few people recently have asked us to bring back the blocking function in its original form (from like 2-3 ago - some users might still remember it), so we have decided to reimplement it. Hopefully we'll be done this week. - you will be able to manage your followers list, also to happen this week - some aspects of the changes might not be present on the app but it will catch up eventually (usually takes a week) Both changes will give you more control over your Scooploop account. I'm expecting comments to flourish under this thread but SL might not be able to answer till tomorrow.

We've made some changes to local section. Those include: 1. You can now choose from how far you want to get local post notifications (see Notification Settings). 2. Users often get notifications about local business offers. We consider that mostly spam as it's not how a neighbour would act. That will be limited now, posts from new users will be moderated till they gain some Scooploop reputation (being active in groups, having friends, collecting points for posts is what defines an active user). Little note for businesses: if you do want to tell others about your business on local section, do it like a neighbour would do, make it personal. Otherwise please use business post feature on your business section.

Anyone finished watching that one? I'm at 4th episode, super curious how the whole story ends. I think Anya Taylor-Joy is a lot of joy in fact, simply brilliant, but it's only my opinion. The actress who plays Harmon in episode 1 (circa 10 yo) - not so much, I can't even be bothered to check her actual name. Too stiff, acts like a robot. The aesthetics of the series reminds me the French movie Amelia, but without the humoristic part. Does anyone remember it? Also a little Polish accent, the Russian chess master is played by famous Polish actor Dorocinski.

As suggested by many users in a thread down below, the notification dropdown now gives higher priority to unread messages. Let's see how everyone feels about this new logic and if there is any side effect, then we tweak it some more. The main notification page is intact for now.

I barely have any time for myself. However I somehow managed to watch this movie lately with my wife. Not sure who recommended it - if it was someone on this groups I apologise for not remembering. It's a pretty good movie I must admit, though at first I wouldn't say it was my cup of tea. Good plot, very good acting, great pictures - it's got everything. And Chris Evans - yes, he can play even without tights and a shield - if you know what I mean. And he's pretty good at it too. It should suffice to say my wife sobbed half the movie, probably because of the plot, but my guess it was more due to Evans being too sexy for her as a handyman caring for his little niece. BTW, I watched on YouTube (pay-for option), it was couple of quid if anyone interested. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4481414/

Given I don't know many extraordinary expressions, I'll post more common ones - I have plenty of those. "Back to square one" - I've always wondered why square one? In Polish we say "Back to the point of entry" - pretty exact explanation. Any known origin for this one? Does it have anything to do with root square of two per chance? ;) If you know an equivalent from any other language please put it in the comment.

Hi, we've just implemented a new feature - sending images over scooploop messenger. There are still some UX issues (not everything works super smoothly), but we've decided to give it a go as is. Access to the images is technically bound only to the sender and the receiver of a message - as far as we've tested this works well. But of course, there might be some loopholes and bugs - if you spot anything, please send us feedback immediately. As for the apps, the feature is available from version `1.14.10` - please update them. They are already available both on android and iOS. It's actually the whole fun to quickly from your phone to a friend - so really recommended for the apps especially. The image uploader might look a bit clumsy for now, but it will get better and better. Happy sending.

Hi all, as you may have noticed, we've created a separate local area with posts related only to your neighbourhood - hope you'll like it. There is much more to come for that section too. Your News Feed (the default feed you see when you log in) will hold any posts that may be of interest to you, including both group posts, local posts and a few other types of discussions. For app user: app should pick up these new features shortly too. All the best.

Hi all. So a quick update: few fixes and changes were pushed very recently. Among them: - changes to notification page (nothing major but hope you find it more useful) - few fixes on the app (thanks for reporting the bugs) We also introduced covid-19 feed as you probably noticed. This collects open/public posts that relate to coronavirus. For now this is a very broad feed, we might narrow it down to posts only having hashtags like #coronavirus, so this is a good chance for you to make use of that feature (hashtagging) ;-). Have a good weekend!
