• Photographing Food at Home Workshop with Derek Lomas is on Sunday 12 June 1:30 - 4:30pm An introduction to natural light and flash light food photography that can be reproduced in a small room. No experience required, just enthusiasm for the subject. A DSLR is preferable for the type of shots we’ll be working on, but having your own camera not essential, assuming you are aiming to buy one in future. Derek will start with a brief introduction and some technical exposure matters, but only those relevant to our subject. Everyone should leave with a good idea on how to reproduce the shots we take on the day. Derek is a professional Still life and Portrait photographer whose clients include L’Oreal, Waitrose, and The Sunday Times. A voluntary donation to Sprout of £10 is suggested for this Introductory Workshop. Numbers strictly limited so please book your place by emailing sproutcommunityarts@gmail.com
  • Join artist Tracey Elizabeth Downing for her “Enfolded” workshop, exploring collage, image and text in lovely little concertina sketchbooks. At Sprout Arts on Thursday 21st and 28th April 2022 No previous experience necessary just curiosity. Materials provided but feel free to bring any small objects of significance; a favourite cup, ornament or item of clothing; Photographs; Newspaper clippings or a book (that you don’t mind cutting up). You will take away a lovely A7 sea-white hardback concertina sketchbook with contents created during the workshop, there is no expectation for you to take away a finished article, I use my concertina’s as a way of visually recording what I notice and I can go back to them time and time again to rework them and use them as a springboard for my paintings. Costs £20, materials and drinks provided, spaces are limited so please register your interest by email to sproutcommunityarts@gmail.com or directly to Tracey at tdowning1@hotmail.co.uk To find out more about Tracey, who is exhibiting in Sprout in April, visit traceyelizabethdowning.com or follow @traceyelizabethdowning

  • Take home a work of art for free with our community Art Loan event! The idea behind our ArtLoans initiative is simple, people who are members of Sprout will be able to borrow an original work of art for four months and pay nothing, the artwork would then be available to someone else or could be bought. The hope is that people, who may never have had original artwork in their homes, will realise how wonderful it is and go on to become art enthusiasts and encourage their friends and neighbours too - it also helps promote the work of local artists. This Art Loan event will be at Sprout gallery on Moyser Road SW16 from Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 July when all the available work - over 70 pieces by 30 different artists - will be on display and can be loaned, as long as you are a member, and membership only costs £10 and can be taken out at the event. Please pop in and view the artworks or visit our website to find out move www.sproutartloans.com
