    The Cubbington Pear Tree

The 250 year old Cubbington Pear Tree, the second largest wild pear tree in the country with a girth of 3.78m (12.4ft) and England’s Tree of the Year in 2015, has been cut down to make way for HS2.

The route was changed to avoid a golf course, but not for this impressive tree or ancient woodland.
