    Nissan Mill Hill

Nissan Mill Hill this week advised me that my 11 year old low mileage car was a write off because water ingress through a worn boot seal had damaged the alarm wiring which had affected other electrics, the alarm could not be isolated, a replacement seal was no longer available. Without the seal no point in doing the wiring repair. Ridiculous.we started an online search for the seal.

I arrived at Nissan to find from the mechanic that the alarm HAD been isolated, all other electrics fine and the car driveable .

I paid for a diagnostic report. Yesterday I took the car into my local garage to replace the 2 light bulbs and the brake fluid, the only things apart from the alarm advised on this report. Nissan had specifically stated that the tyres were fine.

The garage mechanic instantly spotted that the water ingress was in fact from under the deep bumper, NOT the seal, and problem was simply resolved without cost.

However the 2 rear tyres were in such poor condition on the inner walls that I was ‘strongly advised ‘ not to even make the 30 mile round trip I’d planned. They were in a highly dangerous condition!
Also the issue of points on my licence,

A bill for less than £300 later my alleged write-off car is back on the road in such good condition with low mileage that I’ve been advised to keep it. Which I always intended to do.

Nissan Mill Hill has some truly dreadful reviews. I am pursuing the matter, legally if necessary.
