    Small Grants to Support Children’s Charities Affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic
    In response to the current pandemic, the Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust has changed their application guidelines for grants up to £5,000 for organisations with an income of less than £750,000. Deadline is: 28 April. Access more information here.


    Arts Council Emergency Fund
    The Arts Council offers individuals and organisations working in the cultural sector new financial support during this crisis, totalling £160m.     Bright Ideas Fund is now open Have an idea for a community business? Need help to develop it and make it a reality? Then the Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start-up and planning stages with tailored business support with grants of up to £15,000. You need to submit your application by 07/04/2020.

    Barnet Community Help Hub
    The Community Help Hub https://engage.barnet.gov.uk/covid-19-community-help-hub is a network of local support that will help our communities remain resilient as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds. The Hub will be updated daily with information, help and how you can get involved. If you are a community organisation that can offer support, please get in touch. The Community Help Hub provides information to help:
    • find out how you can help your community and keep safe
    • connect you to community resources, services, and virtual opportunities
    • keep you informed about important updates
    • gather your positive community stories and coping strategies.
    For non-medical related urgent help: a helpline and email access for Barnet residents has been set up that will prioritise people who are extremely vulnerable from COVID-19, self-isolating and need support to remain safe at home or do not have other means of receiving support. When contacting you must ensure that you provide information about the circumstances and any contact details. Email COVID19support@barnet.gov.uk or call 0808 281 3210 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)

    Barnet Facebook mutual aid group. Enables residents and groups to help one another during the coronavirus pandemic. These are member-led and not connected to any organisation.
    Barnet Covid19 Group at https://join.slack.com/t/barnetcovid19-fe64980/shared_invite/zt-cvmtqnit-dUKurIstYoVjVw~w4RIbNQ has been created to enable Barnet’s community groups and the public sector a shared online workspace to connect and share information.
    Barnet Together community fund. This has been set up by our voluntary sector partners to enable the community to donate money that will be used to support residents most in need.

    All Barnet organisations are asked to take a few minutes to complete a survey to help map services in Barnet. This will help know what you do, need and if you work with volunteers so we can help pull our resources together to support our vulnerable residents.
    • If you are a foodbank, complete Foodbanks
    • If you are a faith-led group, complete Faith
    • If you mainly work with adults, complete Adults
    • If you mainly work with children, complete Children/Young People unless you are a YBF member and have already completed this.
    We would also ask you to pass on this urgent request for paid care workers in response to the pandemic, as Barnet’s community urgently needs more Care Workers. Terms are flexible to suit. Please apply here

    Covid-19 Mutual Aid
    Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK is the umbrella name for a group of volunteers supporting local community groups. These groups organise mutual aid throughout the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK. As Member Pioneers we would like you to join your local group if you haven’t already.     If you find there isn’t a local group in your community then please set one up. You can invite some of your local connections to be admin with you.
    This is a really effective way to share the needs of your local community and match people up. You will also be able to share Co-op messages as we get them.
