Marriage laws change
Until the question came up on a quiz show over the weekend I had not heard of or realised the law is changing next month regarding the age of marriage in this country.
No longer will a 16 year old be able to get married or have a civil partnership, even with consent from a guardian. This, I understand has been considered particularly to protect young children from being coerced or forced into marriage. I agree it is time for this change, what do members think?
