    Gunners Park

Although we visited on a bright but cold winters day the park was surprisingly busy, mainly with dog walkers, some joggers and Mums with pushchairs. I suspect that coming back in spring we will find many bird watchers and nature lovers as it is a site that apparently sees rare species of bird and plant.
Partly a former MOD site it is now surrounded with modern houses where the ‘gun’ sits rather oddly. Plenty of free parking but no ‘facilities’. Unless you continue out onto the promenade back towards Thorpe Bay
