    Event: Exhibition Preview

This event has already taken place.

Start Date: 18.09.2020. Start Time: 14:00

Location: Middlesbrough Institute Of Modern Art mima

As part of Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership re-opening programme for Middlesbrough, we are hosting a special event ahead of our public opening, with previews of our new exhibitions.

Otobong Nkanga, From Where I Stand, is a large solo exhibition of paintings, tapestry and installation that prompts us to think about our relationships to land and the extraction of the world’s natural resources. The Few is a display of portraits of Key Workers from the Tees Valley by Jason Hynes. Tees Valley Response Collecting profiles five artists based in the area– Saud Baloch, Emma Bennett, Bobby Benjamin, Sarah Cooney and Gail Henderson – whose work was purchased for the Middlesbrough Collection at MIMA during the Covid-19 lockdown.

To keep all safe and so there is space to enjoy the exhibitions, places are limited and booking is essential. Please join us if you are able. We are operating to Government and UK-wide standard requirements and have also been certified by Visit Britain’s Good to Go accreditation. MIMA reopens to the public on 22 September 2020.

    Exhbition Preview times: Friday 18 September 2020. You can book for 14:00 – 15:00 or 15:00 – 16:00
