• Event: Engineering Behind the Palace: Brunel’s Towers - Illustrated Talk

    This talk follows on from our Engineering Behind the Palace: Paxton’s Design talk. Intended to rival the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, this talk will take you through the creation and demise of Paxton's fountains aided their enormous cost to the Crystal Palace Company. Our Curator Ken Kiss, will also cover the ingenuity and effort required by Brunel to create his water towers.

    The talk starts at 19:30 on Tuesday 10th March 2020, doors open 19:00. The talk to last approximately 45 minutes followed by a Q&A. Visitors will be welcomed to browse the Museum after the talk and refreshments will be provided. When attending this event, please use the Anerley Road entrance to the Museum as the park will be closed.
