The rTMS Centre is proud and excited to be providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment to the Finchley and greater London community.The rTMS Centre’s Neuroscietinst, Mr Amiri has noted “the importance of working with the community and other mental health practitioners as well as advocates in making non-invasive treatments such as TMS & talking therapies more accessible to people within the area.” What is TMS treatment?TMS is a non-invasive, medication-free and painless brain stimulation technique, uniquely used for mental health disorders. Thus, TMS targets specific areas of the brain depending on what disorder it is treating. “TMS utilises a small electromagnetic coil controlled by a machine to deliver short, powerful bursts of magnetic energy focused on specific areas of the brain.”The typical initial course of treatment consists of five treatments per week over a four to six week period, for an average of 20-30 total treatments.
